One game that I still count because it was made in the dark age, is the official HotWheels Roblox game. Its an open world with many upgradable cars and variations of each, all of them having different stats. Theres multiple biomes, and you can also race other players in designated tracks. The goal is to buy and complete sets of specific cars, with money you get as you drive and win races, and no, there are no funny flips (but I guess you can still try if you abuse the roblox physics engine enough)
Just a quick note on the Planet Hotwheels World Race track. The under water portion is actually from one of the pack in comics that came with the cars, specifically it details how the team learders got to pick their teammates
I'll admit it, Hot Wheels: The World's Best Driver (the 3DS version specifically) is my guilty pleasure. I loved to drive around the hubworld as it expanded, mainly due to the features that unlock. Plus racing as each of the different cars, seeing how each fared on the sections of the hubworld made me play the game normally just to unlock the hubworld features, and then just play around for hours, paying no attention to the actual missions, or challenges. Plus, I actually liked the voice lines after getting used to them.
@@amichiganboiwhosereallazy1544 Yes, I even managed to fall through the floor inside the underground racetrack by clipping into the wall, and it was hilarious.
I was devastated by the loss of Planet Hotwheels. That was my life for what seemed like years of my early life. I’ll never forget the “Planet Hotwheels Under Construction” sign in the summer of 2004 when I tried to show my family. So disappointing. I’d like to know how to get access to the mini games and the tracks from planet hot wheels, how can I find them?
THANK YOU for talking about Hot Wheels Racing Circuit. I have seen way too many videos of hot wheels video games that just skip over hwrc like it doesn’t exist, it doesn’t even have a Wikipedia article. I remember having a blast with the game when I was younger, so thanks for mentioning it here. Btw: The guy who asked the question at 10:55 has a working offline version of hwrc with a download on their channel. You can’t change tracks, and in order to change cars you have to mess with the games files but you can play it!
Yup i tried to play it but could only do one track. Racing circuits demise of being so forgotten off the internet really sucks. Even the older Planet Hotwheels is far more remembered and preserved.
@@PolygonDonut Exactly! I’m actually looking into the game and figuring out how to change tracks, but the error logs don’t give me much to go off of. Also I specifically remember the green lantern cross-promo, and how the green lantern track was just a reskin of the Indy track. Always thought the promo felt a little forced, even back then.
I have some really good memories with the DS version of Beat That!. That version actually lacked the bowling stage, and the car selection was slightly different, almost giving the feel that the devs wanted version-exclusive cars.
And now hot wheels unleashed 2 is being released later this year! One thing I have to mention is that World Race, Stunt track challenge and Velocity X where above their time, absolute masterpieces in my eye. First games I got ever. Will forever appreciate
For years I have been trying to remember that one singular Hotwheels game I played as a child, I just could not remember it, I only remembered part of a song and the car I used. It just so happens that in this video you complemented the soundtrack of one specific game, and when looking for it, wouldn't you know it, it was the one I remembered. Thank you for making this video :')
I remember once playing this flash game about this one play set called “dr bones colour lab”, where you travelled around a top down environment, and the terrifying dr bones was wandering around the map trying to hunt you down. Idk what the objective was because when my 6 year old ass first saw him I closed the game and went up to my room to do something else because of how much he freaked me out.
OH I PLAYED THAT ONE, it was similar if not a reskin of another Game based on bf5, You had to get a series of objects around the map to win tho.... I never finished because dr bones got me scared and also i sometimes ragequit
OH GOD I PLAYED THAT ONE. I remember there being a re-skin Version of the game where it was an octopus instead of Dr bones which was way less terrifying
Let's not forget Hot Wheels Rally from 1996, which released on PC with an exclusive Hot Wheels mouse shaped like a car, with working lights and rumble feature. The game doesn't have a lot documented online but this is one I owned and played as a kid. Still own it now, gotta hook up the mouse again. The game wasn't too remarkable to the likes of Stunt Track Driver or Crash that I played at the time. It was a standard rally car and monster truck driving game through dirt roads of 4 contestants. If I could record gameplay, I'd happily upload it online, as little currently exists.
Glad to see I am not the only one who is aware of it's existence! I don't blame the guy for not knowing about it because despite collecting Hot Wheels for nearly 20 years, it wasn't until last year I learned of it and later got it myself. Have you had any luck getting the mouse to work on modern operating systems?
SingStar is a competitive music video game series for PlayStation consoles, developed by London Studio and published by Sony Computer Entertainment. Dozens of installments were released for the PlayStation 2, and several more for the PlayStation 3.
I remember playing World Race, Stunt Track Driver 1&2, Beat that, Track Attack, and several flash games on the website, man HotWheels was my shit back then. Also for the World Race game, some cars were licensed so they replaced them with existing HotWheels cars, while some would do well on the track like the Red Baron, and I recall the creator of world race mentioned that a water realm was considered, but the budget never was finalized so the comics and the game adapted it I think
I may be late, but this brings back a ton of nostalgia. When I wasn't in the children's hospital, I was on my dad's PC playing the Stunt Track Driver games, Micro Racers, and a ton of the flash games that existed. And in the hospital I always got as many chances as I could to play the World Race game on the Gamecube in the playrooms, and spam-watching the Highway 35 and Acceleracers movies whenever I got the chance. And then the Beat That! game and Track Attack followed suit. Ah, fun times and great memories. Thank you for bringing me back to the past again, funny flips guy!
@@PolygonDonut Really sadge that It was, It had a Very interesting story, the famous car wrecker Vert, Acceleracers cars and even Nolo's grandson I think. It was also such a great game Man, Sadly I only played It for a little bit before uninstalling It.
I greatly appreciate your making this video. I grew up playing a lot of the 90s Hot Wheels games. I specifically watched this because there was one (Slot Car Racing) that I was trying to find and wasn't having any luck. Slot Car Racing had this really weird semi-FMV opening cutscene that just lodged itself in my mind, and I remember the levels for it being really strange, so I'm going to play it some tonight once I get off work. Not mentioned in the video, I believe there were some obscure Hot Wheels themed minigames that were released for PC before Stunt Track Driver. I recall playing them on an old Windows 95 machine I had growing up. I am hoping to be able to boot it up someday and see if those games are still on it, as I haven't ever seen them mentioned anywhere else.
Played World Race as a kid, seemed really cool back then but a bit more grown up, you start to see the shortcomings: -The nitrox boost is basically completely useless for anything but ramps. It gives almost no speed on the ground and nitrox-only shortcuts from ramps are way too important -All the cars have different stats but practically amount to nothing. Every car can reach the top speed cap of 200mph and you'll be forced to this cap constantly because the tracks are covered in boost pads that instantly speedcap you, making the speed and acceleration stats meaningless. Grip stat means quite little when there's only two kinds of turns; ones that need handbrake and ones that don't. Boost stat is also nullified by what i said about boosting on ground and the speed stat. Also, even if the stats came into play more, the difference between cars with different stats are absolutely miniscule to a point where they might as well not exist. Grip is a little bit noticeable, especially as large cars like the Power Rocket do feel quite clumsy, but everything else, especially Boost, feel absolutely no different between cars. -There's also a mechanic where entering buttons in a sequence while you're doing a stunt will rack up a counter, and once you fill it by doing it succesfully 3 times your car gets cool flames. I think it's supposed to make you faster, but again the difference is either minimal or simply nonexistent. I really wonder if there's a glitched or unfinished part of the code that would make the cars perform more differently... -As mentioned, they changed a few cars to not have open cockpits. Changing Red Baron into Sooo Fast made sense, but they also changed Moto-Crossed into Greased Lightnin', which i can't fathom the logic of. They didn't even make it the same color, though admittedly they made it actually look like a Roadbeasts cars because for whatever reason the Moto-Crossed was black, blue and white. Also interestingly, Road Rocket has an open cockpit but... they just made it closed in the game. Dune Ratz's Wild Thing also got changed to an MS-T Suzuka, probably simply cuz it was too weird. They also changed all the real-life cars like Taro's Roadrunner into Hot Wheels originals; these were done with pretty tasteful equivalency, though a Toyota RSC got changed into Seared Tuner (aka Sho-Stopper) which is a classic Hot Wheels car but not exactly similar... -While the track variety was pretty cool, they were very different from the movie and perhaps more criminally, the game's own cover art. I haven't played the online World Race, but i liked how the tracks were much more in spirit of the movie, including the portal jump to start off the race.
I remember being like 8-9 years old going to a thrift store and seeing 2 in the package planet hot wheels cars, that came with the CD’s on both and one of them being the deora 2 and the other one being the “chemical energy car” and it had 4 of the hot wheels games you showed and seeing that again was a real nostalgia trip. definitely subscribed.
You missed the "Hot wheels computer cars" series of floppy disc games that I wasted so much time playing as a kid before Turbo Racing turned my world upside down.
They were barely games, but still worth a mention in a video with "every" in the title. It seems you, I, and some other anonymous thumbs-upper are the only ones who remember these.
RIP Planet Hotwheels, fucking literally the greatest thing i ever did online as a kid. Lego was a close second. But man we had it good with the website based content.
Ok hold up…THERE WAS A WORLD RACE MULTIPLAYER GAME!?!? How am I just now learning about this!? It looks like the game I’ve always wanted! One that was more closely based on the actual movie. I gotta find out more about this! Dude, mad props on your research!! Seriously 👍
I remember playing planet hot wheels as a kid every morning before school. Suddenly it just vanished and I never knew why. There’s other HW games in your video i played in the early 2000’s. Thanks for this great video.
My favorite was Hotwheels beat that because I remember getting back from elementary school every day and just playing it and always screaming “BEAT THAT!!!” At the top of my lungs when the game loaded.
I played one of the hotwheels flash games not that long ago. Its still playable, but I forgor 💀 the name of it, and flashpoint (the program I found it on) removed the racing games play list it used to have.
11:26 I remember playing these, i had most of them, i still might have them laying around somewhere but a few years ago i searched for them and didnt find them :( Edit: I also didn't remember the name of the games and thought im going insane but no apparently not! (which is good i think) I searched and found 3 people selling them for cheap and i might buy and play them
I also remember them, i know i have them still, maybe i should see if they work (i had actual different ones as well, some were with dinos but i think one doesnt work really, one disc with angry birds and some with animals on them
9:18 i used to play this game as a kid and nearly 100%d it too but then i stopped playing it was a really good game ngl edit: i did revisit it recently and - there was no bowling alley, never was one either - the car select screen looked different - more so either i had a different version of the game or it had something to do with the fact that my mom thought that buying ds games legit was cringe
There is no bowling alley on the ds version. The ds version overall is a dumbed down version of the full game. The best version of the game is probably the xbox because its the most powerful console it was on
8:25 I think I had this game as a really really young kid. I can’t remember much about it but I definitely remember using a similar wheel so that might’ve been the hot wheels game I had that I’ve been looking for as a now adult
Oh wow, that's a flashback to the past with Mechanix. I legit forgot about this game until you brought it up again. That was one of my first games ever.
Beat That on PC was my entire goddamn childhood. the nostalgia was so strong that I recently found the game and have been replaying it... god, it REALLY brings me back and is still so fun!
your fast paced format and the overall goofiness of the videos that you make makes your content beyond amazing. i would love to see you make another one of these on something like radiohead or cave story
The original Hot Wheels was one of my favourite games on the Commodore 64. I spent hours playing it back in the 1980s. Maybe i should get a copy again since i got a C64 again a few years ago.
I had both the stunt track mania games and Hot Wheel world race for PC that I played Split screen back when I was 10 years old with my Dad. I also had the Hot Wheels Velocity X but I never got to finish it because it would crashed in a certain mission where you had to fight the Antagonist.
I'm not sure if I just imagined it or not, but I swear to remember some hot wheels flash game from the 2000s. It was story based and you drove around a pretty dark and grim city, with more "mature" themes (mature for an ~8 year old, lol). There were actual human characters whose designs were reminiscent of those from Acceleracers. I lose sleep over this weird criminal underworld hot wheels flash game I haven't seen in over 15 years and I don't even know if it's real or not.
I had Hotwheels Turbo Racing on my ps1 and also had the Extreme Racing, which I didn't notice was a Hotwheels game up until now 😂 I'm not a fan of racing games, but those two were among the very few ones I actually liked playing!
Stunt track Challenge was one of the many shovel ware games I had as a kid, yet at the same time was not only one of the few games I liked enough to finish but one of the only 3 games I've ever got 100% completion in.
The hotwheels battle force 5 was basically a vehicle combat game. I recently replayed it and youre darting around beating the villains of the show with its own lore. Basically the Zark, robots, team up with the vandals, the furries, and make this device which somehow combines battle zones, settings for the episodes, and throws the team around
Another note about the 2003 Hot Wheels: World Race game: it still has an active speedrunning scene to this day, which is absolutely worth investigating if you're interested in seeing just how utterly broken it can get. There was also a GBA version which more closely resembled the original Mario Kart than its console / PC version.
I did not know it had an active speedrunning community thats cool
I mean, I'd argue the GBA game is more like F-Zero than Mario Kart
Also, Stunt Track Challenge has a GBA version that is one of the few games that races in full 3D on GBA
I certainly remember having a GBA with both Stunt track challenge and World Race in one cartridge. Definitely worth playing in my childhood

I was in elementary, and we had competitions to see who was the best. That was a lifetime ago.
That was my first too!
My first was the track builder, but it got delisted

And Max Justice was by David Kauffman, the man who voiced Danny Phantom
I think there's a hidden car too, i think..
It was everything I could ask for as a kid. Cars, and violence. Not to mention, the cars can have spikes on them. It was the coolest thing ever lol.

0:49 holy shit you just unlocked a childhood memory, I MUST DOWNLOAD NOW
bro, hotwheels games bring me back to the good days of internet culture
Ocean Vista in the World Race was supposed to be a part of the movie.
It was replaced by an Ice Level in the final film due to budget constraints.
3:51 "The first game only had 12 cars but this one has 13!"
I'll take that as improvement
12:44 I used to play that game so much
Same!
Pongon could literally make a 16 minute long video on the different types of grass and we’d all listen
The wave of nostalgia I was hit with when you showed the mobile game was insane. Fortunately I still have the game and will be returning to it.
Always breaks my heart when a website dies so young in such a nostaligic time
Polygon Is trying to introduce a new whole part of the internet. i respect that
6:21 OH NAW PONGON DUNT HAS DEM SWAG GLOVES 😭😭😭
Project acceleracers is a very fun and movie accurate fan game about acceleracers, you should try it if you’ve never heard of it
It's rare that I subscribe to channels, much less halfway through their first video. I knew by then I needed it all.
I really enjoy watching your videos they make me feel happy
You forgot one little small detail, Infinite Loop was also closed down.
Oh damn i didnt realize
@@PolygonDonut Really sadge that It was, It had a Very interesting story, the famous car wrecker Vert, Acceleracers cars and even Nolo's grandson I think. It was also such a great game Man, Sadly I only played It for a little bit before uninstalling It.
Shoutout to the lostwave song that turned out to be an original composition for a Hotwheels game.
Played World Race as a kid, seemed really cool back then but a bit more grown up, you start to see the shortcomings:
-The nitrox boost is basically completely useless for anything but ramps. It gives almost no speed on the ground and nitrox-only shortcuts from ramps are way too important
-All the cars have different stats but practically amount to nothing.
I remember being like 8-9 years old going to a thrift store and seeing 2 in the package planet hot wheels cars, that came with the CD’s on both and one of them being the deora 2 and the other one being the “chemical energy car” and it had 4 of the hot wheels games you showed and seeing that again was a real nostalgia trip. definitely subscribed.
i used to have one. the car is long gone, but i still have the disc. i remember the car was a silver truck with a cyberish paintjob on it
10:11 funny enough, you can actually use it as a gamepad while emulating other games. Many fond memories playing Sonic Adventure with it
You missed the "Hot wheels computer cars" series of floppy disc games that I wasted so much time playing as a kid before Turbo Racing turned my world upside down.
They were barely games, but still worth a mention in a video with "every" in the title. It seems you, I, and some other anonymous thumbs-upper are the only ones who remember these.
@@Show_My_Name_Not_My_Handle Me too! i own a Computer Cars Hydroplane
It's a crime that they didn't do an AcceleRacers game, that series was very popular I'd reckon people will que up to buy that game
Seriously 👍
2:18 wait did it use the same explosion graphic as half life 1?
If I had a Dollar for every time you said “Funny Flip”, I’d buy some of these games.
I remember playing planet hot wheels as a kid every morning before school. Suddenly it just vanished and I never knew why. There’s other HW games in your video i played in the early 2000’s. Thanks for this great video.
the way you say "funny flips" has a real drink-spitting quality to it.
My favorite was Hotwheels beat that because I remember getting back from elementary school every day and just playing it and always screaming “BEAT THAT!!!” At the top of my lungs when the game loaded.
Beat that is very good yes
wow epic hotwheels video AGAIN
also... THEY COPIED SUNIC THE HEDGOHUG RINGS!111!!!!11111 6:49
I played one of the hotwheels flash games not that long ago. Its still playable, but I forgor 💀 the name of it, and flashpoint (the program I found it on) removed the racing games play list it used to have.
The browser games were my childhood, sad I can’t play them anymore because I would play them 24/7
Nice video! Was kinda weird when half way through the video you sacrificed a goat to a massive statue of hot wheels ceo, Elliot Handler.
11:26 I remember playing these, i had most of them, i still might have them laying around somewhere but a few years ago i searched for them and didnt find them :(
Edit: I also didn't remember the name of the games and thought im going insane but no apparently not! (which is good i think) I searched and found 3 people selling them for cheap and i might buy and play them
Me too but i lost them too....
I also remember them, i know i have them still, maybe i should see if they work (i had actual different ones as well, some were with dinos but i think one doesnt work really, one disc with angry birds and some with animals on them
9:18 i used to play this game as a kid and nearly 100%d it too but then i stopped playing
it was a really good game ngl
edit: i did revisit it recently and
- there was no bowling alley, never was one either
- the car select screen looked different
- more
so either i had a different version of the game or it had something to do with the fact that my mom thought that buying ds games legit was cringe
There is no bowling alley on the ds version. The ds version overall is a dumbed down version of the full game. The best version of the game is probably the xbox because its the most powerful console it was on
@@PolygonDonut oh
@@PolygonDonut :(((
@@PolygonDonut is there a reason why the ds version is worse
@@dizzy_jump The ds is just less powerful and cant hold as much data
8:25 I think I had this game as a really really young kid. I can’t remember much about it but I definitely remember using a similar wheel so that might’ve been the hot wheels game I had that I’ve been looking for as a now adult
Oh wow, that's a flashback to the past with Mechanix. I legit forgot about this game until you brought it up again. That was one of my first games ever.
We have funny flips..
So where are the *F U N K Y* flips?
Bruh at 14:19 when I saw the Audi Quattro with the initial d paint I had a stroke thinking it was an actual 86 😭😭😭
pong on we have same gamcub min blac so is ur
Always knew about Hot Wheels, not an actual fan. And this vid is well made. You´re not wasting viewer time. And it was funny. Subscribed.
I KNOW WHAT HAPPENED IN 1999 1:37
1999 bizzare summer!
0:20 track map looks sus
GET OUTTA MY HEAD
What's the name of this game i remember playing it when i was a kid
@@PalmitoGamesame...
Ok
Car go vroom vroom 🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤨🤨🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑
I'm not sure if I just imagined it or not, but I swear to remember some hot wheels flash game from the 2000s.
It was story based and you drove around a pretty dark and grim city, with more "mature" themes (mature for an ~8 year old, lol). There were actual human characters whose designs were reminiscent of those from Acceleracers.
I lose sleep over this weird criminal underworld hot wheels flash game I haven't seen in over 15 years and I don't even know if it's real or not.
love this video, ive always had a minor hyperfixation on beat that, this was a video i needed to see
Unleashed sequel is confirm but it's just a logo from a Twin Mill diecast
3:58 NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Watermelon explode by Hot wheels cars send help
Why is the nooo longer when translated??
I completely forgot about race off. Thank you for restoring that childhood memory
I had Hotwheels Turbo Racing on my ps1 and also had the Extreme Racing, which I didn't notice was a Hotwheels game up until now 😂 I'm not a fan of racing games, but those two were among the very few ones I actually liked playing!
My most favorite in this one was the joke about the ancient Egyptian technology known as the Commodore 64
