Fan of Sammy since 1983. His voice was always like another instrument just like Robert Plant was for the Zeppelin. Look at Sammy now, still cranking it out at age 75. So glad he never smoked cigs.
Well I'm glad he never smoked cigarettes to. He should thank his wallet for that and he should be proud of his self. He ain't got to worry about smoking cigarettes because he never smoked cigarettes and since he never smoked cigarettes he ain't got to worry about smoking cigarettes lol so since he ain't never smoked cigarettes he shouldn't worry about ever smoking cigarettes because smoking cigarettes is a bad habit
@@loycegill-db7txyou said one thing like twenty different ways hahaha it couldve been just one thing but you said it twenty ways like the point was clear from the first sentence but then you put it in a different way twenty times even though you were just talking about one thing instead of twenty
He damn sure is. I like them both,, But Sam has made a more profound impact on my life with the songs he sang. I don't know who owns them but. They were magnificent. And Dave's were in his time. But those don't grab me like Sam's does. I'm real surprise at how the brothers treated these two greats right here. I'm glad they went own regardless of sound now. Cause it's changed for them.
@@stevemandl5140 I think the music vanhalen made with Roth was better, But sammy is a way better singer. By far. Dave was the entertainer, Sammy was the singer
The real question is do you think Sammy really cares? 11 albums before joining VH (8 solo) and 9 or 10 since leaving VH....... What has DLR done outside of VH? and what has VH done since? Sammy is the man.
Yeah but you have to consider whether or not David and the other members of VH even need to do more. They all rich. It's most likely that Sammy wants to do more, unlike the other members
I think Eddie borrowed inspiration from this song to do Spanked on the For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge album in 1991, it has a very similar beat and chord progression. I think it's so cool that Eddie did bass on this whole album Sammy was forced to do--in ten days, to boot. You can hear him go crazy on it in the intro and later in the song. Also, who else thinks the music video is just plain AWESOME!?
Where is Dave now? What has he done since VH? What band picked him up? Does he have his own band? What has he written? How many albums has he done? Tours? Is he performing solo? How many awards? I don't recall him showing up at the Rock n Roll Induction in 2007, oh yeah, that's bc he knew his singing couldn't even come close to Sammy's and he would be embarrassed.
Sammy is a really talented, and very nice, sincere guy. He was giving an interview at a station I worked at. I walked in, and he gave me his seat, saying "Ladies always sit" and continued the interview standing.
A great song Sammy Hagar has a powerful beautiful voice that touches everyone's heart around the world great song writer great guitar player Sammy Hagar greatest solo CD I Never Say Goodbye. Sammy Hagar really sings from the heart. Sammy Hagar has one of the greatest voice in hard rock music. I love you Sammy Hagar, Miss you Eddie Van Halen RIP 😎🤘🤘🎸🎸🎸🎸🌹🌹❤️❤️😥🏋️🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🎸🌹
1977, opening act, then Eddie Money (RIP), then Boston. Pontiac Silverdome (when it still existed). One of the best concerts I have ever seen. And Sammie was the best “opening act” ever! ROCK CANDY!
Yes sir, Sammy and Eddie Money was best of friends. They both enjoy in having a good times. Would have love to hang out with them two . Just like they're music was all about to enjoy life .
Yeah, it was part of the deal between Warner Bros. and Geffen that Sammy can join Van Halen and Warner Bros., on the condition of releasing one more solo album for Geffen.
There is no way Sammy is a harder rocker then roth. Sammy is a way better singer, but Vanhalen had way more attitude with roth. Sammy made Vanhalen very soft. Compare running with the devil, Panama, hot for teacher, and drop dead legs to any Vanhagar stuff and it blows it away.
DLR is a cheeseball.period. Sammy rocks and baby there's only one way! You can argue who is better, etc. but the proof is in the work done. The whole package - that's Sammy! Rock on!
My favourite Sammy Hagar tune.....have the LP which I purchased in 1987 and still play. But 'Hands & Knees' is a stormin' song and play it on my phone continually. Great song, singer/guitarist and good times!!!
Cool guitar Sammy’s playing, but I don’t know what brand it is or has he ever used it in concert?? Awesome tune......I think it’s his best and never get tired of listening to it. 🇺🇸⚡️🤘🎸
Fun Fact: Sammy was solo when the album for this song was released. The album was originally untitled then was rereleased under the title "I Never Said Goodbye."
Yes the video is "cheesy" now but it was a contractural agreement that Sammy had to fulfill for David Geffen to be released so he could focus on VH. Notice he had Eddie and the others on the vid and Eddie plays bass on this record. Happier times for Sammy and Eddie too.
@1972Russianwolf Ha! Very good point. Even Gary Cherone did more outside of Van Halen with Extreme than David Lee Roth did. I think the reason David Lee Roth might've been the most compatible with Van Halen was because he needed them the most to be successful. To Hagar and Cherone, Van Halen was just a phase, but when Roth left Van Halen he became a forgotten nobody, pretty much. Fortunately, he realized that and has since returned to perform again with Van Halen and a "slightly" smaller ego.
No one has the right to talk shit about Van Halen or Sammy Hagar, I'm a fan of both, let's all show some respect
Fan of Sammy since 1983. His voice was always like another instrument just like Robert Plant was for the Zeppelin. Look at Sammy now, still cranking it out at age 75. So glad he never smoked cigs.
Well put

Agreed
The Summer of 1987 was a tremendous time to be 18 years old. I NEVER SAID GOODBYE
Love this song from his 1987 solo album, very underrated album, a masterpiece and great sound too.
to me Sammy hagar is one of the best rock singers in the world!

Great ending. Red Rocker forever!!! Who's watching during covid and mourning Eddie?
God, I remember this one. Sammy made a simple tune epic. And he's still got it.
This is one of my all time favorite Sammy songs. Man, this song has emotion. But c'mon guys, you all have to agree with me. This video is bad.
This just rocks! God how I miss the music of this era!
Ken Leet agreed 👍
Same ❤
A Story of Love, unconditional.
I remember this album before I delivered my oldest daughter 29years ago. Just admire Sammy Hagar's passion.

Two with Montrose, one with Hagar Schon Aaronson Shrieve.
Sammy is just a multi disciplinary talent!!
Plus, he reportedly did a demo with Justice Brothers (pre-Montrose).
Ladies and Gentlemen, on bass guitar nonetheless, maestro Edward Lodewijk van Halen!!! Multi-instrumentalist genius! Rest In Power. Respect.

A bit cheesy but it’s Sam. Love it
Video is Soo WORKED AND CLASSIC VIDEO CLIP!🌦️⛅🙏✨💠
This man is just amazing to me and the fact is he's still got the pipes decade's later
Sammy one of the hardest (& best sounding) musicians ever 🙌
I never understood why he joined VH. But he sure made a lot of wonderful songs with that bunch. Red Rocker for life.
Red rocker is still kickin it
Yes sir, still is and still can't drive 55.
Sammy's octave slurs in this song are sweet.
Sammy voice blows Roth's voice away. I love them both, but Sammy's voice is just better.
oh yes!
Dave was just better at every aspect of the game, Sammy was not.
You ain't wrong.

Roth rocked and Sammy voice was better
Eddie is killin it on bass!
Sammy is a really talented, and very nice, sincere guy. He was giving an interview at a station I worked at. I walked in, and he gave me his seat, saying "Ladies always sit" and continued the interview standing.
Nancy Johnson you should’ve sat on his lap instead 😍😂
awwww...That kind of thing is why I have always loved Sammy!!!
@Sammy Hagar Most excellent. You?
Holy Hell Sammy!!! just rocked me again with that!!
This song fucking rocks!!! In fact the whole album is great!
Ben Adam775 I agree with you,I never heard this song before until I discovered it in guitar hero live and really love it so much.

Give to Live, Eagles Fly, like I said, A great album!!!
i found this was really watered down compared to voa but he still gave geffen records what they wanted

Sammy I have been waiting for this since I bought this album after 50150 was such a huge hit❤
YOU KNOW IT!!!!!SAMMY BROUGHT VH BACK TO LIFE!!!!!
You got that right four consecutive number one albums with Van Halen I tell you that is a big achievement on its own.
1977, opening act, then Eddie Money (RIP), then Boston. Pontiac Silverdome (when it still existed). One of the best concerts I have ever seen. And Sammie was the best “opening act” ever! ROCK CANDY!

Eddie Money guest on three songs at a Sammy Hagar concert in 1978.
Yeah, it was part of the deal between Warner Bros. and Geffen that Sammy can join Van Halen and Warner Bros., on the condition of releasing one more solo album for Geffen.
Awesome song.Sammy doing what he does best. Being a solo artist.Nothing wrong with that....
He certainly plays well with others tho...
He lives the best of both worlds.
Class act .
That's how most people begin. By themselves
Amd yes, he def plays well with others
❤
Red rocker
I love the phones!
Sammy should've never stopped playing guitars when with VH.
Always loved this track!

I love those brick sized cellphones
It's just a cordless phone-Affordable brick cells were not around until the mid-90s
Love those awesome phones, so right for holding down Pages of music at the beach so they don’t blow away
I gotta get this album now! ☺
@electrickithara "never said goodbye" One of his best solo albums. Give to Live, Privacy, Hands and Knees... The whole album flows really well.

A song that needs to be on Ready Player Two.
Don't forget that Sammy is also a great quitar player.
Always hated 2nd parts..but the best thing could ever happen to Van Halen was Sammy joining..he is more of a hard Rocker than Roth's..love him
''diamond dave'' was a whole lot better
There is no way Sammy is a harder rocker then roth. Sammy is a way better singer, but Vanhalen had way more attitude with roth. Sammy made Vanhalen very soft. Compare running with the devil, Panama, hot for teacher, and drop dead legs to any Vanhagar stuff and it blows it away.
Think it made both softer van Halen and hagar
I just turned 20. Got my first apartment. $150 a month. This album came out then and was the theme. Love ya Sammy and VH.
he is soooo dam good
Sammy has the voice of all ❤
Why is his robot band so fucking GOOD! They just dont make em like they used to... real talent, real music. Real women.

I agree......it's a smashing song, one of his best IMO.
