      Or take a bike tire cut it to wrap around the plastic ones and self tap screws to hold it on. That's what we did and it rips the gears out. There plastic lol. But it works good for a while. I used mud type bike tire.

It doesn't make them faster, but it DOES extended the battery life from a couple of hours to sometimes a few days! Your kid will get way more use out of their ride on for sure!

    Hey JD. So funny to see two grown men gettin' hype about buying used cars for their kids.😁 Haha. Gotta love it! Actually, that seems like a great price for those PWs y'all picked up. Your boys already have cars in their blood and teaching them how to tinker with them is a great life lesson. It's so cool to get out there and have fun with your kids like that and as a bonus, showing them basic mechanical and electrical systems at an early age will help them in life. You're doing it right, JD.👍😎 Y'all have fun out there. Shoutout to #teamlaura . I hope she's doing well.✌

I put one in my daughters Barbie Beetle 'Dune' PowerWheels, and then took bicycle tires and splayed them opne and wrapped the plastic wheels with them. Now its an off road monster!! ...and FAST! Plus it recharges within hrs on a standard vehicle battery charger not 12-18 hrs like PW batteries.

  • @allthingssilver7635
    @allthingssilver7635 ปีที่แล้ว

    I did the same to my daughter's power wheels jeep but I used 18v DeWalt batteries since there's only two terminals on them, makes it easy.
    We tried a 24v also and it worked great for about a day until it burned the motors in the wheels up. My neighbor put a 24v in his kids and it stripped the gears out. So 18v seems to be perfect.
    Also you don't want to add rubber to your tires or use the cars that have the rubber strip built into the tire. The tires being able to spin work as a clutch for the added volts.

    The car battery allows for an extra amps to the motor when under load. Higher voltage higher speed, higher the amps, the longer runtime available voltage on the battery. That is why he did not slow down when pulling you. Go to car battery is like doing a diesel swap conversion, can you do it for the power not the top speed

  • @absolutekold
    @absolutekold 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    Drill batteries is the way to go. 18V vs 12V almost half again more oomph, course it's hard on the drivetrain and circuitry but so is modding anything to race. My thought would be to see if you can squeeze 2 drill batteries in parallel so it goes twice as long. Car batteries (and any lead acid battery) isn't really worth the added weight over lithium. All you would get is more amp hours. That car battery would probably run a hotwheels for a good chunk of a day. The performance tradeoff for the weight isn't worth it... unless you took that big truck shoved a car battery or two and made a portable charging station... Hrmmm.....

    One of my boys (twins) is named Logan. Lol. I just purchased for this coning Christmas my kids first Power Wheels. It is a Jurassic Park Jeep Wrangler because i wanted a two seater so both my boys could sit in it. They are going to love it. That Mustang though is awesome.

    Put some duck tape with small pebbles on the sticky part and wrap it 3times you’ll never need to replace them😉

    the controller and motor are likely designed for 12v....id say u can get away with 18v but surely 24v will overtime wear out controller/motor from added torque.... could possibly even fry circuits once powered on

    That's full power right there now you should just put a big electric motor on it TO FIT HIM!

    I had a feeling the car battery wasnt going to do anything for it. Still 12v. Try the makita 40v, dewalt 60v, or kobalt and flex run 24v. All single batteries. Or w those motors you bought, rig one up to each or the rear wheels with the m18, or the makita 40v or dewalt 60v. Milwaukee also has those new mx batteries that are massive that are for their gasless generators/inverters and the cement vibrators. Not sure how many v they are but most likely more than 18.

    My prediction? I think it will have longer runtime. What do you know? I guessed right. What I'd like to know, is if there are some better options, like a motorcycle, jetski, UPS, etc. battery, that would greatly extend the runtime, but be much smaller than the car battery. 12v is fine, too, since I am curious about options that will preserve the life & runtime of the vehicle & the motors in the stock config. Also, I'd like to keep the cost as low as possible.
