He didn't lie when he said he would die doing something he loved and not at work.
I wish I knew the man and wish I could of shown him Cornwall.
We still have a fair amount of chymneys he could of admired or knocked down,
You don't need to feel the pain of what Britain has turned too now,

I could only wish to experience a fathom of what he achieved in his life time. What a truly incredible man. RIP Fred.

Fred was quite unique and a testament to times when engineers were allowed to be engineers and not tied up in H&S red tape! He also broke through the crust of TV company snobbery to be a TV star without [I guess] ever wanting that for himself. His ability to make things work through improvisation were legendary. Have a well earned rest Fred!! Ken

I've only just found this on YT. I've always admired Fred, I have his biography and never missed his TV programmes. When Fred left us we lost a true proper working class old school character. My family were either engine drivers, worked at the pit or at the steelworks and those industries all had similar characters to Fred. That generation were a different breed to now. God bless Fred's and all of their memories. The world is a much sadder place without them. RIP Fred.

@@ismailmiah1446 Sorry , I was born in 1978. Something that happened in the Second World War, unfortunately I can't help it. Unfortunately, I also have to live with the past, and as you can see here now, no distinction is made between the generation at that time and today's generation.
I think you cannot compare today's Germany with that of the past.
I am very sorry for what has happened in the past, but I cannot do anything about what happened before.
It is a shame that you are always reduced to the past.
I just tried to express my sympathy for this person, who did really great things, but unfortunately I'm then confronted with things that I had nothing to do with.
It's sad that some people still think that way.
You shouldn't forget the past, but you shouldn't take a look back.
      Have a nice day.

What a man ,true English man through and through, never to be replaced.I had to visit the grave and was so sad to see the way it’s been kept ,what’s wrong with this world ,a lack of respect is what the great Fred would say.I constantly watch his videos, listen to his lectures ,he’s left such a mark on me I have the desire to buy a steam roller and why not.His home should quite rightly been saved ,loved by all and cherished for all the wonderful things this man achieved,I personally visited his home and the feeling was magical, sad yet something I just had to do,his work shop holds so many memories for lots of people this should be saved at all costs. I so glad I made the journey.Hopefully one day I will meet Fred but not just yet,

This man was a true Brit and not many likes for his funeral. I truly do not understand why.

I just saw Fred being a real profesional. And now I see his last. God bless him he was a working man and a man among men. And now he is higher then he’s ever been and looking down at all of us tethered to the ground.
