Do you have the Sony FX3? Are you still loving it or do you wish you had something else?

I think, depending on what Nikon release in the next few months, we'll either pickup the Nikon camera or the FX3 to add to our equipment list.

I love my FX-3 it’s a great alternative for a small handheld camera or to fly on a gimbal. I used it primarily as my A Cam
Before I purchased my FX-6 last November.

I finally ordered my FX3 this week and cannot wait. I used them when I was an in-house camera operator but I was never in a hurry to upgrade.
Waaay too often our clients would say, 'oh that's a small camera, is it any good?' It really irks me about the size of gear relating to its performance. The same thing happened when we picked up some Rode GO II's.

Congrats on your purchase! So funny how that perception of 'bigger is better' just doesn't fly anymore. Enjoy your new camera and thanks for commenting.

I bought the FX-3 in 21 and picked up the FX-6 last year. Both of these cameras are excellent for my workflow (corporate video). The A7SIII was never an option for me as professional XLR audio is a must. The FX-3 is perfect for gimbal and the FX-6 is excellent for tripod work.

I’ve had mine since they first came out and I can honestly say that the only thing I wish it had was internal ND… and maybe shutter angle. But you learn to work around those “wishes”.

I have the Fx30. I bought it because majority of the cinema cameras used are S35 sensors. So I figured why not have my a cam be S35. I have the A74 as well and love it.

I own an FX3. Love it. I am saving up for an FX6 and some mid level FF cinema primes like the DZOs. Once that happens I'll sell my FS5m2 and buy a FX30 and keep all of my APS-C glass. Having 3 matched cameras with all of this versatility will be the ultimate. Right now.. rolling up on set with my FS5m2 decked out with shoulder rig and Shogun Inferno is impressive and professional looking enough for my clients to know they are getting their money's worth. I also really love the form factor of the FS5m2 and FX6. I like it more than the FX3, but the FX3 is incredible too!

Have an A7Siii, and in 2023, will we pickup another A7Siii, an FX3, or the coming Nikon CINE camera? :)

I just rented an FX3 this afternoon, and I’ve been up past midnight trying to manually set the aperture, the ISO and the white balance. Are there certain steps I need to take before it will let me set them to my specifications?

If you only have full-frame lenses, would you pick the fx30 over the fx3? I'm in a dilemma whether or not I want to shell out that much $$$ for a fx3 over a fx30. I have the 24-70 2.8 and 70-200 2.8

    • @jemlang

Hi Scooby. If I had the money I would still go with the FX3. If budget is tight though then the FX30 would be a great purchase.
