    Thanks David. Beautiful model and great location. Great demo too. Many photographers have no clue how to use reflectors and diffusers properly. There is a park near me where I do many shoots, and frequently see other photographers there using reflectors and diffusers in every way but the right way. I wish they could watch this demo. I have offered to help some who are friendly and accept the help, but some are set in their ways and think they know everything.

    Heck....even I could do a shoot with Marcella and it would be fantastic. I really enjoyed the video. I live just up the road in Sebastian, Fl and at first I thought about how hot and humid it is outside and even wearing black, you guys pulled it off without a hitch and made it look cool. If someone really needs a small package reflector, thats the one to get. Enjoy your vacation, Ted

    Great way to carry less but get the most on what one has on hand. Shooting on the move or small tight places it good down and dirty on the gun tactic. Thanks David enjoy your vacation. Hope you get to test the new EOS R 3 and compare it to 1DX mk III

    Nice demonstration, David. As to mounting this Lastolite/Manfrotto exoskeleton on a tripod - you mentioned clamps - have you noticed the 1/4"-20 tripod thread in the hand grip? That's the beauty of this design, it directly fits on a tripod. To me more important than the folded size, actually.

    cool enjoyed the ideas on this - I have the halo with white and silver reflectors and also a diffusion - did you find that bouncing off the diffusion with a speedlite is better than shooting through? Ive not tried this wondered if you saw a difference in the light quality - im keen to try it out

    • @DavidBergmanPhoto
      @DavidBergmanPhoto 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I generally prefer to bounce because I can aim the strobe to spread across more of the reflector, creating a bigger light source. Also, if you're using the 2-stop diffusion, you'll lose a light of light trying to shoot through.

    David what is the difference between using a 2 stop reflector and a silver/white reflector? I see lasolite rebranded and the new halo is 38 inches and about 35 dollars more. I wondered if you could explain the difference in the uses of the 2 stop diffuser and the white/silver reflector. Would u choose a 32 inch or 38 inch and why?

    The Halo diffuser is a great travel size, reminds me of an umbrella.

    10:50 The reason you dont use auto white balance or why you always take a gray-card test shot.
    Maybe for another video :-)
    Very nice video. Easy to follow tutorials and some great tips.

    Christmas is this coming week. I really would like your input re if you would recommend the 32 inch or the new Manfrotto 38 inch. I shoot singles, couples and sometimes 4 people. And I needed to know the difference between the two stop and the white silver regarding their uses and benefits. Sorry to bother. There have been shoots when there is bright, direct son. I can see the 2 stop as a real Benefit for that. And you demonstrated the two stop reflecting light. I can only get the 2 stop or the white silver. And I wondered if it’s more benefits to have 32 or 38 inch. I usually am
    By myself when I shoot, but I saw it can attach to t tripod?

    You forgot the ultimate portable reflector. A white wall.

    pay more and spend more time on a new gadget for what? ..for to save a bit of space! ..sorry my budget and time are limited and will not buy this stuff which only replace a cheap quick foldable diffuser!

    • @DavidBergmanPhoto
      @DavidBergmanPhoto 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Everything is always a balance between quality, convenience, and price. Just depends what’s important to you. I’d much rather pay a little more one time if it’s the difference between having it with me and leaving it home.

      I agree. If you have to time lapse assembling a reflector... I mean, I'm already shooting while the circus music is still playing.

    Hello David, sorry but none of those pictures by far is something you can give to a client, I understand the idea behind it and what you wanted to teach but you have to look at the background and how to choose the one that works better and if you are shooting this close to her why would you shoot at 2.8? Most of her is out of focus , you want to have the background out of focus but your subject for the most part in focus when you shoot portraits, just an idea.

      I didn't think the photos were bad at all. Creating these are more difficult than it looks.
