Would love to see side by side comparison of the photos you took without the reflector!
Agreed.
Yea that was kind of disappointing. Didn’t really see anything
Too much talk and less sample image
5:38 I wish she would’ve showed the photo without the reflector so we could see the difference
Yeah, not sure what showing us and telling us that she took the image without the reflector if we never got to see the comparison.
This biggest issue I have with this approach, is that using a bounce reflector from below is not showing how light naturally works. The main light source here is the sun filtering through the clouds. It would be more realistic if the reflector was being held/clamped from above. One could also, if the equipment was available, mount a speedlight on a stand and have a helper hold a diffusion panel in front of it. Again, this would have to come down towards the subject to look the most natural.
Common wisdom is from above and at an angle
Sometimes this works. It just depends exactly on where the light’s coming from. You can see here that he had no issues.
Great video! I love that you use your reflector on your own, as that’s what I want to do!
Thanks for the video! But if you‘re doing shots for comparison (with/without reflector), it would make sense to also show them in the video😅
Honestly, totally agree with you! But, the RAW files for those shots got accidentally deleted before we were able to insert them. You can still see the difference in just the video clips, though!
@@HopeTaylor Oh, ok😂😋👍🏼
She actually demonstrates it at 4:00
@@JuJuGrafiks I‘m talking about the final results.
@@downlink_x gotcha...doing your own test shots will be your best bet then - happy shooting!
Thank you so much for all your tips!! I leveled up my portraits so much by just using the reflector and fixing my manual settings!! ❤❤🎉🎉🎉

Thank you for the useful advice! ❤ What camera did you use in this video? Do you recommend that I buy the Canon EOS RP as my first camera? ☺️
Have you ever done headshots with natural light no flash or lights
Yes, I photograph all of my portraits with only natural light!
Thank you for this! What mic are you using? It works so well..
Greatest's tip ever!!!
Gracias por tus instructivos videos saludos

Hi! What size reflector do you have? Thanks for the video!
I believe mine is the 32'! Thanks for watching :)
@@HopeTaylor thank you so much!
Hi! Thank you for this… Is your focal length 50mm?
It is! I am almost always photographing seniors on my 50mm or 85mm.
@@HopeTaylorthanks!
Great video
Thanks for watching!
What lens do you use for these close up portraits?
I use both my 50mm 1.2 and 85mm 1.2!
@@HopeTaylor Thank you. I have a 50mm and eyeing the 85mm ... which looked like you were using in the video. Great shots.
What size is your reflector?
32 inch
@@3-piece129 Thank you.
Thank you for this info!! The default is set in the Amazon link to the 32 inch. Is that the correct size?
Just read your answer in another comment with the same question that it’s the 32 inch. Thanks again!!
