    Love these videos Andy but you don't need to take the front fairing off for this job. Once the windscreen and windscreen holder (4 nuts) are off and the top side panels, you can remove the main cable from the instruments - small clip on back, and undo the 2 screws at the front by the cable, and lift the whole top panel off (two rubber grommets and 2 push pins to remove only). Takes 5 minutes total.

      That's what I did 2 weeks ago for my versus 650, I had to remove the screen mount, but if you have small hands you could probably manage to get access without doing this

    Aw mate, i have the same bike and i love it. But i didn't realize what a pain in the, you know what, to do such a simple job. Don't think I'll bother, at 64y it will take me a week to try to remember how it all goes back together. Then I'd forget.

      yeep, I agree, sometimes to do something simple you have to dismount half a bike. But don`t worry, after 20 times everything goes more smoothly.

    Did you buy the outlet specifically for the V1K? I bought one for the vulcan that just looked the same as our bike and it has the same part number as the one in this video.

      I got this outlet with the OEM GT package for Versys if it is the same number it should be OK.

    Не проще сразу все купить и установить чем каждый раз разбирать .

    Hi there,
    I tried using a 12v air compressor on mine and now it stopped working. Any advice? Is there a fuse that the outlet plugs into that could've blown?

    • @MotoAndy
      @MotoAndy  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes I know the problem, these small compressors must be connected directly to the battery, otherwise the fuses will blow.
      The fuses are under the seat, you need to see which is blown and replace

    Mine came with a relay, althought it works without it. Do I need the relay? I did not see you installing the relay in your video. Thanks

    • @MotoAndy
      @MotoAndy  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You don't need relay for power outlet

      @@MotoAndy Thank you. It seems to be needed for the 650 and not the 1000.

    So, this just plugs into existing wiring ?
    If it does, this is such a relief. In my other bike, I have had to run a cable all the way from battery, then route it under the tank, to get to the charging outlet !
    Another question, does this product come with USB ports built-in ?

    • @MotoAndy
      @MotoAndy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes it is plug in, wiring is already in the bike, I'm not sure of there is USB port avilable.
