I bought a $19.99 Dual USB Charger with a built in Voltmeter on eBay for my 2009 Versys 650. It's the exact same size as the dual USB Charger that you installed. The installation is the same, too.
Great Vid. Thank you. What I did to remove the factory dash plug is use Philips bit on a 1/4 drive socket with a short extension. I also did remove the windshield brackets and it gave me space to operate the ratchet . Thanks again for taking the time to produce the video. Its very helpful. Cheers from Canada. Ride safe.
Thanks for this -- made the connections perfectly clear. Be careful with loctite on plastic -- depending on the kind of plastic it can make it brittle. Loctite makes a plastic threadlocker (452, cyanoacrylate), but for low strength and a single use, silicone caulk is a decent plastic threadlocker.
I just used a relay from a Honda Civic (it was a bit smaller than some "universal" 12v relays I had) that I had on hand, made four wires with male and female connectors to go from the harness to the relay, made sure the harness pointed down for rain protection, and zip tied the relay to that bracket. That way I could use what I had without having to butcher the wiring harness.
Thank you so much for this video, that's exactly what I needed. I'll be doing the same very thing tomorrow, but I'll stalling a gear indicator as well. Good video. Thanks!
Great video, my versus is a 21 model so I assume the process will be the same for me. Actually I have heated grips on, I hope they haven't used the same connections and really that you did or I will be lost
Is there a kit from a manufacturer please. Me no like Ebay.(( I am very pleased to see that the wires are already in situ. Hope I find my 2021 Versys is the same under the fairing)) Thank you.
Thank you for making a video with simple instructions. I spent $20 and had it installed and everything back together within 20 minutes.

Thanks for this! Makes my job so much easier now :)
Since the charger has no on/off switch does it contiuously drain the battery even without anything pluged in? Some chargers do...
