  • After 15,000 kilometers, it is time to change the tires.
    I decided to change Bridgestone Battlax T30 to Metzeler Roadtec 01.
    Noticeable improvement when cornering.
    Enjoy.

    Thanks for this. I have done this numerous times on other bikes. I am here only because the service manual specifically states the tires cannot be changed by hand because they fit to tight.

    Hi. Your videos are great. I'm crap at mechanics but decided I was going to buy a motorbike; a 650 versys. You've inspired me to do things on my bike myself with your videos.. The versys has no haynes manual so these videos are invaluable..

    Good video the only suggestion I’d make is covering the swing arm with a rag or towel so the chain and caliper bracket doesn’t scratch the paint off

    Great video, thanks very much. Just changing the tyres on my 2019 Versys 1000 and though i've removed wheels many times it's the first time on this one and it's nice to just have a heads up before starting on the work. Really good and clear - though I do get someone else to fit the tyres! Thanks from the UK.

    Nice video and good work✌🏻. How did the Versys ride with these tires? I am thinking of installing them in a couple of days. I am currently using Angel GT2 and i am thinking of switching a bit.

    • @MotoAndy
      @MotoAndy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks. I usually ride on dry so, apart from a little dust, the moto is not very dirty so it is enough to wash it once in a while. I usually use regular car shampoo and chain cleaner to wash rear wheel grease and other parts that are around. When it gets warmer I'll do vid about that.

      They stick to the road as if they were glued, both on dry and wet. The only problem with these tires is that they are noisy when cornering.
      my next tires will be from Metzeler for sure.

    What are those red dots? Don’t see them on my new tires.

    • @MotoAndy
      @MotoAndy  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It is possible that other tire brands have different dot colors. The dot should be in the same place as the valve in the rim, it marks the lightest place of the tire, and when we place the valve in the same place, we equalize the weight of the tire, i.e. automatic balancing (in a sense)

    • @MotoAndy
      @MotoAndy  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve just put 01’s on my bike and compared to the Z8’s they are very quiet in fact they are the quietest tyres I ever had. I also put right angle valve stems on which makes checking pressures so much easier I would highly recommend this modification to everyone. Excellent video by the way.

    You should pump the forks then tighten the bottom pinch bolts

    • @MotoAndy
      @MotoAndy  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      why?

    • @PremierNZ-qb5zd
      @PremierNZ-qb5zd 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The recommended practice is to tighten the pinch bolts on the left side first then pump the forks then tighten the right hand pinch bolts. This ensures the axle is seated in the bottom of the fork leg thereby maintaining correct alignment.

    • @MotoAndy
