@Storm killer Max didn't make the decision, just took advantage of the situation he was put in with a great team mate and strategic pit stops backing him. Let's not forget Max has led the most laps this entire season, more than the entire grid *combined*! He deserved the championship through and through, and he definitely deserved some luck on his side.

While I may not agree with each risk (I'm just a fan), I think he's on a path to greatness. But to see how hard he pushes himself. How he analyzes every on track moment. How he forces and drives himself to be better. To grow and keep growing. And how well he realizes what impact his carreer has had on his parents, sister - the ones around him. I know he is incredibly generous towards them. But hearing how much he loves them, adores them and admires them. And seeing how proud they are of him. For him. I love how open he is, how we see the true Max. I already knew how kind he was. But actually hearing him say it, seeing it in his eyes. Gosh, he stole my heart. I admire what he has accomplished. And how well he realizes it was a team effort. But that being said. * Tire blow out in Baku (Cost 25 points),
    * Knocked out by Bottas in Hungry (Cost 18-25 points).
    * Red flag in Imola (Caused by Bottas/Russel) gave Hamilton free un-lap to finish 2nd (Net cost 18 points)
    * Crash with Hamilton in Silverstone (Cost 18-50 points, depending on alternate outcome)
Max could have won the title by 100 points in the end. You can't say the same for Hamilton. He was unlucky on the last lap Safety car but that is part of Racing. Max has been much more unlucky through the course of the year.

A very special moment to see Max open up, which we pretty much never get to see. Nico Rosberg said on his podcast that Verstappen didn’t seem like the type to admit/be affected by mistakes and learn from them, but Toto actually disagreed saying that people in private might be different to what they show the world. Now we get to see a glimpse of what Max is really made of
Also, “MIEKUHL, DIS SO NOT RAIGHT” was another golden moment, even though it was unfortunate for Toto.

First and foremost my congratulations to Max and Lewis for this memorizing season. This season has probably done more for F1 than any other season before. The rivalry between the teams, drivers and engine manufacturers has been epic. The racing has been on the edge, or over it. In this interview Max gives us a little insight in his life. The way he understands a race car is exceptional. The raw talent that he’s been blessed with however, comes with a sacrifice. The Verstappens have sacrificed everything that most people cherish in their lives. Max himself made mention of the fact that such a quest for glory comes at a price. A mother missing her son, a sister missing her father, a husband and wife growing apart and a sister and brother never together for longer periods of time. It’s the price you pay for the ultimate prize in motorsport. As a fan I’m extremely happy for him. He has been exceptional. He needed to be with the likes of Lewis Hamilton. Well done Max. Well done indeed. Enjoy it.

Max became an instant favorite driver of mine when he first drove so fantastically in the rain in 2017. I’ve had the pleasure of seeing him grow into a world champion in an era with all time greats like Seb, kimi, Alonso, rosberg, and more. I knew him as a super rookie that wasn’t allowed to drink his champagne because of his age and now, I’ll know him as one of the great Honda world champions of history. Honestly, I was thinking of ending my support for F1 this year because I was so sick of the past 3 years being a total clown show. Kimi is also retiring. But after yesterdays race, and seeing kimi, Seb, and Alonso on the screen having the most overtakes this season, it hit me that formula 1 is preparing for the next generation of young drivers to take over and so far I like what I’m seeing. Seeing max so hungry for the win really lit up the passion for this sport again. It reminded me that anything can happen and sometimes, they can be legendary instant classic moment. Congrats Max! Congrats Lewis.

What a level-headed and wise guy. I remember how in the early days he was often seen as aggressive, impulsive and sort of arrogant, both on and off track. As he said, he definitely learned from that all and used the experience to his advantage. He’s become way more balanced and patient, both as a driver and as a person. He’s very humble too, despite having won. He’s shaping up to be that Champion everyone knew he had the potential for, right from the beginning. Cannot believe his journey to become F1 World Champion is now complete. I know this is only the beginning though and I cannot wait for his next accomplishments. Enjoy the moment, Maximilian! 🦁🥇🏆🇳🇱

What a great interview! I really saw a different side if Max.
It almost seemed like he achieved all his goals and now he just wants to enjoy a few more seasons with Red Bull, but I'm sure that strong competitive side will return once he celebrated properly!

Max showed more emotions during this interview than whole season

I was not a fan of the person, he grew up soo much. Glad he recognized his past experiences. One thing that is sure lhe is probably the best driver and a true talent.
Thank you for this interview as this shows a very different man from what we believed. My hat off to Max

this season, and i have seen a few, wow wow wow. So much was going on, highs and lows on both camps. It was incredable. Now watching this video does shows that Max is a great guy. He is the King this year and i hope to see much more coming. Thumbs up for Lewis. For me i have seen alot that doesnt make me happy and started to dislike some stuff, but i have to say and respect, he is a great sportsmanship!

Great interview, it's nice to see Max get a bit emotional and be a bit more in depth. I think you can tell it's a weight off his shoulders and I think now he doesn't have that pressure he might get even better. Well done Max. Commiserations for Lewis, a cruel way to lose a title but no doubt he will come back even stronger for that 8th.

His equipment is not up to par with mercedes, at least starting from half of the season. If he would be most correct and polite driver, I am 1000% sure he would not be competitive. Aggresive but mostly fair he is. And he was kicked out a few times aswell this season. We have not forgotten silverstone and hungary

@@fixxa6455 Very true, it definitely hasn't gone his way sometimes this season. But he never gave up and in the end that's what counted.

24 years old and his first title. I think Lewis was about that age when he won his first title in 2008. Then it took Lewis 5 more years. Then Mercedes built a car that was simply the best and with the best driver. It was always going to be a very very tough ask. Yet, here we are Max, Red Bull and most importantly HONDA have done it. What an achievement.
Honda is the only company that has ever won world titles in MotoGP and F1 and won the Indy car series and the Indy 500.
No other company can boast that pedigree.
