And yet in this interview Max says he forgets and forgives quickly.. And HE was the one that crashed at 50 g's.. HE was the one that went to the hospital, and had a DNF which changed the season. And HE let it go..
    And Lewis.. well he got a 10 second time penalty pointing him out to be the one that caused the collision.. (he hit the apex with leclerc but missed it completely with Max) Guess what.. Lewis still won that race.

      It's weird. Being raised by Jos, somehow he grew up NOT having to make Jos' mistakes. Learn to drive better.
      Amazing how much better Max is on so many fronts, and even then Jos was an at times legendary F1 driver in his own right. Jos' start at Benetton was too early, but he was 23 or 24. Max at 17 was ready for Toto Rosso, won his first race at Red Bull a year later. The influence of his mom (used to beat later F1 stars in karting) cannot be overestimated, even though he hung out with Jos so much with all the travel for racing.

Jos stated several times that when he knew Max really wanted to be a racing driver he gave it his all and aimed for his son not to make the mistakes he himself made. It only happens when the inexperienced race director throws out the standard operating practice in order to alter the end result. It wasn’t a fair end to the season.
      No true F1 fan would say “hey, it happens” because they understand how one person’s arbitrary decision ruined the whole season - irrespective of who won. If all the lapped cars had untapped themselves, and the safety car finished at the end of the following lap, then that would have been a fair race and a fair end to the season.

    This right there is the reason why I am a huge Max fan. Let me put some context.
    We all know that most of us will never become an F1 driver, let alone be on the level as Max. We know that all celebrities try their hardest to seem relatable (which fails most of the time), however, listening to Max, how he carries himself, how he treats other drivers, how he responds to praise and criticism comes from a place where his family really wants the best for him.
    I am not saying that Lewis didn't have that, what I am saying is what you do with what you have and how you utilize what you have to best is what matters.
    There is this saying that my dad told me, "Treat winning and losing the same" What it means is don't give winning or losing more power than it should. Just as Max said, he stays in the middle.

    Max has always been a "future world champion" from the outset. It was always going to be when rather than if he was going to be champion. He became champion because he seized the opportunity rightly or wrongly presented to him in abu dhabi.
    An opportunity that was there because he had earned to be in that position from some fiece competative driving all season.
    Whether you agree or not over the outcome in AbuDhabi you cannot blame max for doing his job and taking the oppotunity which was presented to him as any champion driver would do so.

    Max is a relaxed man. He is the same as 5 or 10 years ago!! And absolutely not arrogant! He stays humble. Doesn't think he is a better person only because of winning the WC!!! That's why he is a great person. And champion.

    This guy is a class act and well on his way to becoming an all time great. Dont know why there are so many comments here about Lewis, he is irrelevant at this point, and always was just a half decent driver who had the fantastic luck to be driving some of the most dominant cars in history for his entire career.

      FYI Niki Lauda was the one that convinced Lewis to join Merc! Plus Merc were barley winning races back then.

    • @albertofourie3294
      @albertofourie3294 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agree, "half decent at best". Case in point, this season Lewis has been looking decidedly mediocre in a better than average car and outperformed by a relative newbie in Russell. No doubt, Lewis would've ended up a "one trick pony" just like Jenson Button if the Mercedes did not continue to dominate year after year, like it did! However, what really gets me [sickening] is the primadonna Hamilton has become with sadly, an ego now even larger than F1 itself!
