    If we only listened to mayor David Miller in 2007.

    The Jane LRT should've been built already but then clowns in government thought it were wise to build more roads instead.

    The city makes zero sense. The citizens are not benefiting from the economy and are struggling too cope with punctual waiting time.

    Let's hope they clear, not just plow, the snow windrows at intersection corners, transit stops, and crossings. Don't make the snow windrows a mountain climbing expedition.

      Exactly especially during the recent snow storm, bus stops are almost impossible to get to due the lack of snow clearing.

    They need to keep a balance with vehicular traffic. With most of Jane Street you just cannot arbitrarily take away a driving lane for buses only, especially the closer to Bloor Street that you get. It's also one of the few major arteries that goes all the way to Steeles Avenue (and beyond). ALL vehicles need that access, not just for commuting, but for deliveries, freight and other purposes. The next closest that have that direct ability are Islington to the west, and all the way to Bathurst to the east. Too far away.

      Traffic congestion is the main cause of the single-occupant motor vehicle.

    • @serbansaredwood
      @serbansaredwood ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Traffic is caused by cars though. You think a bus filled with 60 people is the thing causing the traffic or the 60 cars each with one person in them?

    • @josephchemerys4478

      @@serbansaredwood - Traffic is not caused by cars. Traffic is caused by poor traffic flow planning, unsynchronized traffic lights, unrealistic "traffic calming" and artificially slow speed limits. If cars and buses can get to their destinations in an efficient manner, "traffic" would be a non-issue.

      @@citizenm9590 I know people that drive buses for the TTC. Drivers have very little to do with this issue. They are on a schedule. They don't leave the end stations at the same time. They can't. They are not allowed by dispatch to leave at the same time. They are spaced out. It is delays in traffic, traffic lights (i.e. one bus gets a red light but the next gets a green light and catches up) etc. When buses get bunched up the dispatch will call the buses in the back of the line and ask drivers to wait longer at a bus stop or drive slower to let the lead bus get further ahead but that is not always possible. The bus can only wait so long at a stop before passengers get mad or drivers around the bus get mad for blocking lanes or turn lanes. And they can drive around the speed limit but going way below causes issues. When the buses all get to the end of their routes dispatch tries to space them out again. That is why you sometimes see one bus sit for 20 minutes or more even though it has passengers on it and could leave. It is more traffic then drivers that bunch the buses up.

    • @TakeTheBikeTO
      @TakeTheBikeTO ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@citizenm9590 Maybe sometimes, but often times even if they did leave the station as expected, this could still happen. This is called bunching and there's many ways to relieve this. This is why some streetcars do short turns, etc. Prioritizing bus lanes would also help relieve this since traffic is another cause of bunching.
