If it still doesn’t work, that means your TV is too old. I tried everything and my last resort was getting a new TV for those that are frustrated and can’t get this to work. I just saved your life.
The game is enjoyed was a man walk8ng on bridge and it's pouring rain then runs jumps of bridge then lands on cargo ship. Stealth is the key. Who could ever forget that scene. Getting the Kaico adapter for ps1 and it's classics. Ps1 was a total class8c. The good old days!
PS1 was truly amazing! Yesterday (December 3rd) marked the 30th anniversary of the PS1 launch in Japan back in 1994! What a time to be alive! When did you get your PS1?
@PABGames I got ps1 back in 1998 when family members showed me the original ps1 and I liked Crash bandicoot 3. I got the classics like MGS1 Resident evil 2 and 3. Tekken 3 Tomb raider 4 the last revelation. Driver was pretty good and Dino crisis and spyro its the joys of ps1 back in the day!
Great video! I just ordered my KAICO HDMI PS2 adapter and it should be arriving today, so I thought I'd search up and see how it looks and runs on everyone else's. Two years after this post, but I'll answer the questions anyway! Haha.I last used the PS2 a few months ago, and will be using it today whenever this adapter gets delivered. I'll be finishing Radiata Stories FINALLY after having to abruptly stop from a hand injury! It's my favorite underrated game for the PS2, but I think my favorite is... Tales of the Abyss.
Hello, I have the Hyperkin HDTV Cable for PS2/PS1. It does its job but it looks horrible because it darkens the image and looks red. so I have a question to ask you...does the KAICO HDMI Adapter for PlayStation 2 darken the image? or does it look good? thank you
When you plug this in the tv does it have a really bright picture or does it still have dark problems like other converters ,it looks good in the video but i rather have some body say so?
I haven’t bought one of these adaptors yet, but I am looking forward to get one. As far as I know, you have to change the RGB setting used by default on your PS2 to the long name option (obviously you have to select all this while your PS2 is connected to the component cables first so that it Can work later on on the PS2 to HDMI adaptor). Honestly, I hope I helped. Good luck! I willl also need luck, since I am getting one of the PS2 To HDMI adaptors :)
if it don't work on your specific tv either you have the wron hdmi spec and cec handshake issues as for the console should suppor widescreen as a default optionn not sure on the slims however i do believe the phats do support widescreen, you're in 4:3 mode
My question is, does this converter output digital audio (5.1 channel or bitstream) the same as the toslink/optical output on the PS2 or does it only output 2-channel audio?
i use a ps2 scart cable (yes, you can use a pal region one) and plug that into an O.S.S.C. honestly i cant play it without an upscaler like that. its so blurry it gives me headache.
How does this work with running 50hz PAL games on a modern 60-120hz smart TV? I have a region-free PS2 and playing NTSC is no problem, but any PAL games without 60hz options in-game are impossible to crop and are cut off at the bottom. I tried all the settings within the PS2 and disabling/enabling autofit on my TV, but even when both are set to 4:3 the issue remains. Also, when I try to use custom settings I can't reposition the screen as it's greyed out. I'm currently using one of those cheap-o hdmi converters so hoping this addresses the problem of refresh rates.
Hey thanks for watching. Yes, if you get a video signal from your PS2, you should be able to play the PS1 games also. I don’t believe the video out signal is related to the PS2’s ability to emulate PS1 games. Although, I can see how a game with too low of a video quality might not be compatible with the cable. I will have to test this, thank you for the suggestion!
@@PABGames With your adapter it will most likely work. Gonna test mine this weekend. There's another one, which is straight for PS2 (not for PS2 and PS1) which is black and has no cable on it (more like a dongle). It reads "PS2 to HDMI (Basic HDMI Converter)" from Kaico.
Great games it came out when i was in highschool lol so im a little older than you sounds like it came out in 2004 wow 20 years ago my freshman year in highschool i feel old man.😂
Yeah...I already have the component adapter cables going to my 65" TV as they have the hookups in the back..but I have heard HDMI is better than component, however you are running it component style through a HDMI adapter so I wonder if it's better than component cables? I think I might get a upscaler later as I hate the 4:3 square screen...
Low res games were designed for low res displays. Its smaller pixels which are also sharpee so when you blow that up on the big display in HD, you have to accept visual artifacts, jaggies, and that dreaded soft image instead of the sharper image. Almost 100% of ps2 games where designed for 4:3, 480i which is why your TV recognizes it due to your component cables (a good thing) and scales appropriately. Forced 16:9 with stretch your image and true circles will be oval. These adapters takes a component signal, passes it through hdmi to display. Nothing more nothing less. It isn't HD and you don't want that. Well if you care about true image quality. The truth is, no cheap upscaler will make a ps2 look better on a HD TV than 480i with high quality component cable and input so you will be taking a step if you have a decent tv with Component in.
dude ! that game is like $40-$60 at the end of 2024 ! i recently found my old ps2 slim. Im not into retro gaming at all I CANT BELIEVE how expensive old tech is

Thank you for watching and I hope you enjoy your PS2 again! Sounds like a good time to enjoy some retro/old school games!
This is a great little adapter i ended up purchasing the same one as well.
My favorite video on the subject matter! Can't wait to get mine in the mail! Thank you!
Thank you for watching!
@@PABGames Yes sir! Thank you for producing and sharing!

I booted mine silm up to play the oldG Lego Star wars from 2005, just to refresh my memory before the Skywalker saga on PS5.
This has good reviews on Amazon. Hopefully it's better than the pound one I have.
Nice! I've been in the market for one of these
That loading is the converter. the game does have load times, but not during the race. I have been playing undrerground 2 again this whole week.
Its not the converter
Its the game disc
I had a disc that would do that but when i got a new disc it solved the problem
Im just getting a fuzzy screen on ps2 using it but its fine using old cables. Any ideas? Ps1 i have sound but no pic using it.

Using this hdmi adapter are you able to play ps1 games on your ps2 because I know some of these adapters won't allow you to play ps1 games

Now that I think about it I think the ps2 was the first console to have usb ports
Turn off "Trails" to turn off the motion blur
Why test it on rgb and no on component?
Change the aspect ratio to 16:9 in the PS2 menu, then 1:1 on the TV.
Makes it any better?
Great games it came out when i was in highschool lol so im a little older than you sounds like it came out in 2004 wow 20 years ago my freshman year in highschool i feel old man.😂
Can this play ps1 games on the ps2
WHAT POWER CABLE DO YOU GET IN THE BOX?
A MICRO USB!!!!!
Your favorite ps2 game? (racing type)

Well I ran it as RGB for the entirety of the video. I showed that you can in fact run it in component mode, but yeah I ran it in RGB the whole time.

Hi i just bought kaico ps2 ps3 component rca audio video please need help
Got it fixed?
That’s not normal (in Underground 2), you’re laser is just in bad shape or the disc is bad, something of those two…
just get OSSC or Retrotink scaler and you can connect almost anything to your hdmi tv/monitor
What tv you got Pab!?
I have a Vizio, I listed the model in the description
Can you play ps1 games?
Does ir support the progressive scan 480p?
What happened to your backwards compatible ps3?
Im just getting no signal
Mate you don’t need to connect the power adapter with this model of ps2 only the fat version requires it … hdmi only and good to go !!
...you might want to open your ps2 and replace the battery
Smackdown here comes to pain easily
He should play scarface the world is yours for the ps2. If he knows about it!
