    @osityan Per your suggestion we have made the focal lengths on the Optivisors more prominent.

    I'm just curious. In the video, you didn't explain which magnification one should actually use for holding it any distance from one's face.
    What I mean is that you used 10 inches away from your face in the video, but you didn't indicate which magnification should be used for that distance of 10 inches (i.e., 3.5? 1.5? 2.5?...
    I tend to hold my pieces while I am working on them more down at bench level so my arms don't get tired, but after watching the video, I still have no clue which magnification I would choose for working at that level.
    Is there some way of knowing which magnification I should choose?

      +Carrie Lee On our web site the Optivisors are listed with both the magnification and the focal length here www.fdjtool.com/Category/846_1/Optivisors.aspx
      The 1.5X is 20" focal length, the 1.75X is 14", the 2X is 10", the 2.5X is 8", the 2.75X is 6" and the 3.5X is 4". Just measure from your eyes to the bench level to see which one you need.

    This vide was almost useful. You've identified the problem of having the correct distance away from the specimen. But you have not showed how we're supposed to know which one has which focal length. The focal length is not advertised on them. I just bought one and it sucks. I have to hold it really close. Vendors do not advertise the distance they should be used at. How are we to know?

    How does this differ from the reading glasses one buys at the pharmacist's?

    • @FDJtool
      @FDJtool  8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +arly helm They are different in 2 ways. First the Optivisor have much better made glass lenses that are designed for long term use. Second these are a headband that can be used over reading or safety glasses.

      Everyone is different. As stated in the video, you will need to figure out which one you will need by finding what working distance is comfortable for you. Work on your subject comfortably and measure the distance from your eyes to them and buy the Optivisor that most closely has that focal length.
