Hey Everyone, welcome to the comment section.Feel free ask any questions if you are looking at traveling to Tonsai or just need information as we are happy to answer anything : ) thanks for watching!! Magui and Lucas
I was lucky to first visit Ton Sai in March 1996 when we slept in a mosquito net at the North end of the beach when there were no hotels & the bar under the crag was the only bar. I was also there to experience & survive the tsunami on Boxing Day 2004 with 25 friends from the UK. Good to hear that the good vibe continues, albeit I am sure many routes are getting polished now. We most enjoyed the awesome multi-pitch routes on Thai Wall, with the magnificent back drop of the whole bay. Keep it real, enjoy local food, preserve the sanctity of the setting & keep the faith. Nigel
Nigel that sounds like a dream!! I wish I could of experienced that!! Now the whole town is pushed back and the crowds have hit it! A lot has changed but the vibe was great, so many cool people just enjoying the climbing. Thanks so much for the wonderful comment, maybe i will catch you on the rocks sometime. Lucas and Magui out!!
I was there last summer only for 4 days. We were almost the only ones there climbing. It was just amazing! The guys from the climbing shop were just so nice with us! I'll be back for sure!!
I alternated between open mouthed "wow" for the climbing especially those outcrops and underclings and smiling at the rest of the video and commentary! Looked like a fantastic holiday - you both look so relaxed and happy. Thanks for sharing!
My last overseas trip was last September 2019 in Tonsai for some rock climbing. Such an amazing place and met fellow friendly people and I’m missing it...
great vid .. we are heading there next month and i had a few questions. How were the mosquitos ? dengue fever ?? also was the route you were working Fat Max? if so where is it located ? cant find it on MP. Cheers!
We used coils for mosquitoes, they work quite well. Yes, the route is Phaet Maak and it is located on the right of the main wall (at the beach). www.thecrag.com/en/climbing/thailand/krabi/route/17728189
This is amazing! I was planing a trip for phuket and I didnt know about this place for climb, I'm glad I discovered the place before traveling! Cheers! very good video!
Muy bueno felicitaciones, crei que era Australia antes de mirar bien el título,a primera vista.INTERESANTE que gayan agregado otros detalles,a parte de la escalada!!. A MA ZING 😀👌
If are asking about a climbing book, we got the King Climbers one, but the other one available had better topos, so maybe go for the other one. You can buy either in Railey or there is a shop in Tonsai too.
Hi Lucas and Magui, do most people rental climbing gear? If so, where? We are backpacking south east asia and can't afford to bring climbing gear in our backpacks. Thanks!
Hey guys, yes you can totally rent gear. I would just check the gear and bargain for a good price. I'm sure if you rent gear for a few days or a week they will look after you. The place to go is where you buy the titanium t shirts they seem to have the best gear rental but also shop around in Railey. Good luck.
why would you make a place like that public? thats exactly whats gonna destroy the beauty of such places. So please next time you find a beautiful place where you already know that it isnt very known as a touristic area, just keep it for yourself :)

Awesome post
Thanks so much for commenting!!! Glad you enjoyed it !!
Is it possible to just doss it in a tent nearby?
Not really sure, but accommodation is very cheap so might not be worth it
Anyone climbed here in November? How's the weather?
October till March are the best times. Oct/Nov less crowded than December so definitely a good choice to go in November.
@@LucasCorroto wicked! Don't suppose you know much about Koh Tao around the same time of year do you? I read online it might be a little wet...
squireltheo we haven’t been to Koh Tao so I wouldn’t know. Definitely hit up Tonsai!
