we really won the whiteside deal all the way around.....hes good this season looking for a new big contract but hes mentally a midget once he gets his next one he will be lazy again and confrontational...meyers is much lower maintenance and can be resigned or traded easily if need be or let go not much is lost ...and hassan been hurt a lot and bam needed him and dion out of his life to grow ..bad influences imo...they limited his touches too...no one will tell me bam didn't need that trade to see the heat believed in him 100% which he benefits from...whiteside stunted his growth last year imo...

Kendrick Nunn's defense IQ for a rookie is pretty impressive. Coach Spo is a genius

Zone defense works, but it makes you move a ton and exerts a ton of energy. Why NBA teams don’t run it often. But this is the Heat. Conditioning is a requirement because of this. Why they are not tired in OT or in 7 man rotations. The practices are harder then the games for them.

they don't run it often because you get smoked vs faster teams. The way to break the zone is to run and shoot wich is the game today.

Dallas pulled off the same defensive scheme against sixers and the got the win easily. Ben's inability to shoot is really eating up sixers' potential to be a great team.

Very good analysis. This video actually exposed how not well coached & lack of shooters & lack of shooting from Simmons hurt them. For pros, once you recognize the zone, there is not pt to hv Embiid running plays at elbow while Simmons should change to post ups as much as he can as he can't shoot 3s but can shoot over smaller guards if posted up. You can see Horford tried to move around but not in positions where he can be effective. The best way to use Horford is to initiate some offense at the elbow rather than an off ball outside shooter or regular low post player if you don't hv enough shooters surrounding him. No wonder Horford is complaining in public about his usage.

Now everybody boutta play zone on Sixers especially during playoffs.
4 out of 5 starters can shoot from deep with 3 of them are average shooters and Embiid being decent. Simmons won't even take the shot when it matters the most. This Sixers team is an excellent defensive team but a very poor perimeter shooting team. This is when having the likes of JJ REDICK or KYLE KORVER would be valuable. The Heat defense are extremely good as well. A well coordinated man to man and team defense. They even have the ability to hide their non defensive players like Olynyk and Robinson.
Props to them and Eric Spoelstra.

Good win by Heat Nation. You saw Dallas run the same exact gameplan and I think they are slightly better at zone than we are. Not every team will be able to exploit Philly like this but you are in for a rude awakening if you don't think Philly's lack of shooting won't hurt them come playoff time.

The 2-3 Zone is great esp when you lack size..miami has speed n athleticism so thats a major plus..theyre ALSO good at forcing turnovers..a lot ppl keep saying miami needs a Big..i say not necessary esp when you 5 guys that can shoot you out the Gym (Nunn.robinson.herro.dragic.butler)

Also kelly olynik since he join in heat he played good, and duncan robenson undraft player but now he is the one best shooter by heat.
