I find it very interesting how I can find a great analysis from a random dude on TH-cam and then watch ESPN and listen to "analysts" getting paid millions to say that "they wanted it more" or "he has no clutch gene".

They used concepts of the Triangle offense to beat the 2-3 zone, parking the big man in the middle and forming a Triangle with player movement and ball movement based off of that. It works exceptionally well with Anthony Davis, I can't think of many big men who would fit better for that type of offense.

Very good analysis. AD was the key and yes LBJ has the IQ. But I think we should give credit to FV. The coach is the brain of d team.

Freak 2/3 zone switches from 2/3 to man depending on which side of the court the point guard passes the ball to left side of court designates man defense.Passing to the right the defense stays 2/3 zone. Can be switched with coach using hand signals.invented by St. Joseph University.

If you going to play zone you better have one hell of a shot-blocker in the middle and up top defenders who are able to stop dribble penetration if not it's going to be a long day.
The thing is once the Lakers are able to pull the Heat out of the zone, their lack of size and strong one on one defenders will stick out like a sore thumb.
I see Davis and LeBron having a very big series where the games get easier the more they play.
Also playing the Rockets, Nuggets, and Blazers will help prep the Lakers for the Heat brand of basketball.

This is good stuff.. i feel like im back in NJB learning how to crack a 2-3 zone again. Its crazy to me that NBA teams try to run a 2-3 as a main defensive strategem. At the NBA level - this should be defeated handedly every time. The best time for a zone IMO is in short situational applications throughout the game. Like after a time out to disrupt/confuse the ATO set. Or to close a Qtr etc. But continually running it at the NBA level is a recipe for disaster. Pros should be able to pick it apart easily.
