    We bought a 2001 GMC Jimmy Diamond Edition for the wife a few months ago. she decided she wanted to lift it 6 inches. After digging through the interwebs we found a Touch Country 6in suspension lift kit. We made the purchase then put it on her Jimmy. This video shows most stops we took installing the kit. It ended up taking roughly 28 hours total. We ended up changing the front ball bearings and that took about 3-5 hours due to them being originals and being riveted in. All-in-all it was a fun learning experience and now she has her lifted vehicle that she loves!

    Nice diamond edition 🙂 I put the same kit on my GMC Sonoma last year it took me about 16 total hours by myself!

      Thanks! It took us more time due to not rushing and just taking our time.

      Actually what took the most time for me was getting the correct cut on the diff the cooling fins had to keep taking it back out and putting it back in till I got it right LOL

    Awesome. Thanks for making the vid. I'm very tempted to do this on my 2001 Jimmy. It doesn't look half bad with those tires.

    I personally own a 2000 diamond edition with no rust on it and 98k miles and i want pit new suspensions parts on to make it ride smoother but all i can find is people lifting them.

    Nice, how are your doors so nice? My hinges are so messed up and I've already replaced them once. Bad design from factory.

      We only ever had issues with the passenger side. But even then it wasn't bad at all.

    Y’all reused the factory control arms? You’re supposed to use after market ones from Rough Country because the older ones sit too low. There will be too much tension on the ball joints. How did it work out?

    • @thekcubedstory940
      @thekcubedstory940  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We did reuse them. However the kit comes with brackets that lower the mounting points for the factory control arms. It worked out great to be honest.

    • @thekcubedstory940

      We ended up selling it last December so not sure since then. But until we sold it, it held up well.

    Did you have to put any brake line extensions in or anything like that? Driveshaft and axels still bolt up easily?

    • @thekcubedstory940
      @thekcubedstory940  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Had to put in break line extensions but they have with the kit. Everything else basically bolts back up.

    • @thekcubedstory940
      @thekcubedstory940  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      To be honest I didn't do much of the work. My buddy did. I was more or less there for support and learning. I am not mechanically inclined but thought it was pretty straightforward. As long as you have some inclination of how to work on cars you should be good.
