I love this format. I get to see the product swatches out without having to wait for the next one to be done. I love that the opinions are short but informative. I love the objectiveness of it. So many times I just want a succinct video and it goes on and on that the actual video is longer than the review of the product. Not just here but other places too. I like that you take the highlights of the periscope, and condensed it to this format. Thanks.
In addition to your choices I'd like to give a shout out to the Sakura Pen-Touch Gold pen. There is a definite foil luster to it but the one drawback to it's application is that the luster does not hold up well after a sealer is applied and the pen nib although quite fine does tend to dry up and render the pen useless after only a couple uses.
I could have used this about a month ago. I went through several pens until I found my true gold pen. Thank you for a great video that so many of us needed.
Oh Jenny this was awesome.....and fun to watch....thanks for you outstanding presentation and as always giving us a tried and true look see. YOU so ROCK! Joan Smith
This was very helpful - I think I prefer the Krylon just not sure if I can get it in Europe - never heard of it before. It's frustrating how most of the gold markers turn out "greenish" and flat, and I haven't encountered a salesperson who didn't look at me funny when I said that, or was able to recommend an alternative haha... I found the Pilot Super Color which I love (it looks like liquid gold) but it's a bit difficult to use and the flow of ink rather unstable...
I am in love with my silver sharpie, it really stands out when I use it on black! And so I am glad to know the gold does too. But that Krylon is awesome, I haven't seen that brand in Spain so far, maybe we will have it pretty soon!
Hi and thanks for the review! Regarding Elmer's, I've seen two different kinds around, one is like yours and one has a black barrel and a diffent style writing on it, but I think one is simply the most recent version of the other? Can you confirm? Thank from Italy.
I need a gold metallic pen. I sent 3 7" x 10" postcard type images of book overs. Pretty slick surface. The author I sent it to for his signature has some difficulty with familia shakes. He can sign after a drink or two but I need a fine point gold pen that has some drag to it doesn't slide while he is trying to sign. Any help would be appreciated? Thank you.
Thank you for making this video! I've been wanting to use gold markers, but I didn't know which brand to go with! I really love the krylon and kuretake 💛
Well done. Edited nicely and made great comparative observations. Good audio with minimal ambient noise. Very nice voiceover quality as opposed to the blue collar, ""ooooh Look-there's-a-microphone" nasally amateur stuff so common to these types of vids. I kept changing my mind when sorting them out for signing work and letters. Thinking Zig instead of Krylon for signatures. So we'll see.
Thank you so much! Here in Germany we don't always have the same options available. I have used Edding for writing before but I want to try out the Schmincke Aqua-Bronzes (20 ml jar, formerly TRO-COL) which come in 15 811 rich gold, 15 812 rich pale gold, 15 813 pale gold, 15 814 copper and 15 815 silver. I have heard that they are really good and since I am fed up with pens drying up on me or in case of the edding oozing out none or blobs of paint that you cannot write with, I'm hopeful that these serve the purpose better. Not sure if I am doing something wrong with the eddings but I have had no luck with them so I want to try writing with a paintbrush or painting on fuzzy cut words and shapes. This dry (powder) paint has to be mixed with water before use and is wipe but not water resistant.
I love the Tro-Col/Aqua-Bronze powders! They're not cheap, but that small amount lasts a long time. There are also oil-based Bronze powders and liquid acrylic Bronzes. Here's a link to the Schmincke site, with info, and a video, about all the Bronze products www.schmincke.de/en/products/pigments-and-bronzes/bronzes.html The Schmincke powders are made with metal; I suggest wearing a dust mask, as with all powdered media. You can find all of these on Amazon and often the smaller art supply stores. Good luck and have fun!
Did ur gold markers stop writing in gold after the first few application and then turn into grey ink?? That’s what happened to my sharpie one and I’m not sure why?
This was a great and very helpful video, I just wish you had shown the backs! Ghosting and bleed-through is a constant problem if you journal with markers.
Extraordinarily clear and helpful video. well-done! Thank you. Oh - have you played with the prismacolors? I use them for signing the portraits I do for my clients, the fine point is perfect!
I BEEN WANTING TO BUY ONE, YOU MAKE ME SO HAPPY, SO UNDECIDED AND NOW I CAN PURCJHASE WITHOUT GOING OH MEN IT DOES NOT WORK HOW I WANTED! THANKS A MILLION!!
This video was fantastic, and exactly what I needed, thank you! I've been commissioned for a fine art project, so I need something of high quality, but affordable, so Krylon wins!
Theoretically, yes. Make sure the surface is clean and ABSOLUTELY dry. But liquid paint might be easier to control on a rough surface. (Think model paints!)
Sadly I live in mexico... and most art materials aren't even a thing over here because it's backwards shit country. Does anyone know which one I can order from amazon that happens to ship to mexico? I would really appreciate it

This is so nice of you to do this for us. We don't have to buy items only to find out it doesn't work. Keep up the good work.
I'VE had good success with either Pilot or Sharpie's Permanent Metalic Markers, They work on most any surface etc.
MyREDTAIL do regular coloured sharpies work on black paper?
Great video, with all the facts and none of the boring stuff.
Thanks for making and sharing the video.

Great review! I’m looking for something that will write on a shiny vinyl purse. Which would you recommend?
Krylon leaving Penn all the way! It is solvent based and will work on non-porous surfaces.
