I’m a plumber… and you’re brave putting your work up for everyone to comment on… the gas you can put a bit of 28mm anywhere on the run, that would help. I’ve done a section of 32mm before. That boiler where it is ( not your fault obviously) is absolutely ridiculous, fucking size of it. I wonder what the flow rate was? 40kw gotta give some flow.. and I would never worry about power flushing a sytstem that’s been a sealed system for years…but look at the shit you got out
Thanks mate, yeah in hindsight a length of 28mm wouldn't have hurt but I got lucky with the working pressures. I do get a lot of dirty systems on my flushes!
As soon as someone says 40kw Combi to us unless it's right next to the Gas Meter first 3 meters is always 28mm. Nice job though, quite liking the new Vaillant's overall, they're really impressive, if a little lacking on the instructions when you do a system boiler and pair it up with their controls. Nice job though wouldn't want to forget it's a storage combi when you stand up it's like hanging a fridge off the wall!
Was about to order one of these as a replacement for an old Potterton Powemax HE floor standing boiler but I'm not sure I'd feel safe having one of these hanging off of a breeze block wall - dang! Why the hell didn't they just make it a floor standing boiler.
I was asked to use a rcd fused spur on the Vaillant due to the pump and electronics , checking the gas on the old appliance if working would have bought you a bit more time
Small price to pay on top, and it works via the BUS so better for economy and the life on the boiler. I never fit them without it and it’s plug and play now too , so a really easy install and looks smart too. 👍
28mm would be best unless the Combi is very close to the incoming supply (British Gas do this as standard install on most Combi's) but large Range Cooker's with Multi Hob Burners are also a factor as their immediate demand can be massive too. Nice work though and nice to see someone who is on the case and wants the best install for the customer as well!
In this kind of scenario I also check the flame on the hob/cooker is not affected by the boiler when it's firing up etc. If it dances, back under the floor boards I go😂
You was brave running 22mm to that from where that meter was, that wouldn’t been 28 all day for me, one thing, why the 3rd party on off controls ? As a bare minimum you should be giving them load comp
Can I ask a question did you not test the standing pressure at the meter and let by test before you even started work Just a question. Thanks , You should of also of gone back and tested after cadent had been
Standing pressure and let by has nothing to do with working pressure (yes I did my checks beforehand regardless). Old Turbomax was a lower kW to the 940, and as you saw I upgraded the gas run as well
@@cputilitysolutions I was just wondering out of curiosity would the standing pressure not of been low. I know you said working pressure was 13. I had same issues a while ago but my standing pressure was low on my first test before I start work.
That’s a beast of a boiler, did you get some good hot water flow rate at the bath? Also I love Eph controls but the vaillant controls are a must for either load or weather compensation on a vaillant boiler, a lot more expensive but well worth it.
Yeah flow rate was great, actually even better once we linked out the mains in the loft 😅 yeah I always try to recommend the Vaillant controls but customer wanted something cheaper so went for EPH

That boiler installation is absolutely ridiculous , whoever agreed to have a boiler as deep as that in that location was on steroids or drunk as a lord !!! If I was the customer I would have refused to pay till either a smaller boiler was fitted or the boiler moved to a more discreet location . Sorry mate I have noticed your errors are getting more frequent now and this one tops the lot so far . All the best fir the next one that’s all I can say 👎

@wolvolad25 I'm surprised it isn't really considering how big it is. Aesthetically it would look better and from a safety point of view even more so.
I'm looking for a very good combi bolier for our new house, with very good output, and hot water flow rate

I wouldn't mate. Add some chemical in, leave it a week to circulate then drain down and refill and add inhibitor. Or re-pipe
