Just come across Derek’s online videos on TH-cam, he deserves a massive thank you from the gas industry, simply brilliant tutor and obviously a brilliant gas engineer!!!!
I have been watching your channel for last six months or so. Just passed my domestic reassessment last week. Your videos helped me a lot. Much appreciated Derek.
Brilliant video Derek. When I first started at tomkat gas training I had no clue about gas sizing meters and how important it is. Your teachings having been excellent and thanks for everything and hope for better to come.
Excellent content. Can I ask where the figure 0.095 comes from for calculating the m3h. You are the first person I've seen use. What guides/documentation can i find it? Thanks
The answer would be No, no CP12 for the 1st year at least. Only issue one if there are other gas appliances, which there usually are ie cooker or in seldom cases a fireplace. For that it's the install plus the cost of the cert.
Great video Derek Just a quick question, old appliances where kw gross and newer appliances kw net, you mentioned about the appliances should calculate in gross, it doesn’t take in account what say the label on the appliances gross or net? Thanks
Hi mate. Thanks for a very interesting video! Is there a chart for commercial cooking appliances/kitchens? How does the process change (if at all) when doing this in commercial situations?
To clarify, If I had a combi boiler that was 30kw net, then I would have to convert the kw to gross, 30 x 1.11 = 33.3 and then I can use this with the diversity factor, so, 33.3 x 0.8 = 26.64.. but for an appliance before 2000 then the kw will most likely buy shown in gross so this can be used with the diversity factor as it is. Not sure I'm understanding this correctly, any help welcome. Thanks
Good learning aid well explained and very easy to understand. Can you make a learning aid for engineers what procedures need to be followed when making a connection on gas carcass when you use soldering. Should the meter be removed or not?

thankyou for this video Are you required to issue a new gas safety certificate for a landlord when installing a new boiler

When you gas rate you rate in gross kw so need to turn the figures to net on appliances made after the year 2000.
@@tomkatgastraining Right 💡 that’s very clear now just keep the gross calculations on any appliances
Thanks 👍
Please get on with sign of distress on appliance(S) next time individually in terms of visual check.thanks 🙏
Are u GSR’d mate?

Sizing a gas meter is the same process 👍🏻
@@tomkatgastraining thanks. Is there a diversity factor for the different types of cooking appliances found in commercial kitchens?
@@andrewalderson1 not that I am aware of
