The ranking system isnt trying to distribute infinite points. Its not a grind system, its trying to put a number to a skill. Youre on the top of the leaderbord, so the system expects you to win more often than you lose Yea its kind of a feels bad. But consider the alternative. If it always gave the same amount for a win and a loss it wouldnt reflect skill, only games played, and players worse than you who play more would have a higher score. Its a sliding scale. The more you try to prevent a disparity between points gained and lost, the less you reward skill and the more you reward sheer volume of games played
@maxwel1 that is such a small part of the rando. Yea it happens but so much more of the race is a combination of hedging bets based on your knowledge of the logic as well as mechanical skill. True 50 50s happen, but they're pretty rare. More often not you have 60 40s and good players go for 60. Or maybe you have 2 areas you can access but one has a close map and one has a far map so you optimize for info, you get more info faster going for the close map. Theres some random, but how players respond to the random is where the decision making skill is. Theres a reason I couldnt beat oats, and its not just because he got those mechanics. Its cus he got that decision making on top of it. Don't get me wrong, sometimes you bet on the 60 and its wrong, sometimes you bet on 3 majors vs 1 and the 3 is x ray, grapple, spazer and you're looking for charge. It happens. But if there was no skill behind it then oats and Eddie wouldn't be able to maintain above 3k.
At the height of Mario Kart Wii was online, I had a 9,978 rating. If I got first it was +6. Second place was -20. God forbid a blue shell at the end hit and I got like 5th it would be -75 or more. Infuriating and I never got 9999.
Does it also save a little bit of time by eating a few flying rocks? Having less rocks on screen could reduce lag, so maybe it makes our big boy come out faster in real time.
He killed my boy Croc for nothin 😭😭

Why is it that Oats often jumps into the spikes before killing Kraid? I can't figure it out.
It's setup for the fast kill. It's precise positioning on the platform to manipulate his RNG.
@@spideybra Oh. Cool. Thanks!

*It's hard to climb the ladder when you're already at the top*
Elden Ring DLC 100% should have been nominated for and won the game of the year. Arguing it shouldn’t is the most unhinged thing I’ve heard from Oats
