My favourite is that the blue side keyboards in the cockpits of many ships (notably the Cobra Mk III) is based on the keyboard layout of the BBC Micro, the platform that the original version of Elite was written for.
Furthermore, in Odyssey when you visit the shipyard vendor Inter Astra on a station concourse, you'll be greeted with a large hologram on a table with a spinning rotating ship. The message on the table "LOAD NEW SHIP COMMANDER? (Y/N)" is another shout out to the original Elite, whose title screen asks the player "Load New Commander? (y/n)" below a graphic of a similarly spinning rotating ship.
You can deploy SRV after landing to planetary base. SRV would be deployed to hangar under landing pad. In order to return, you should request "docking" from SRV, drive to any hangar and then "board" to ship. Unfortunatelly, there is no any SRV gameplay on planetary base (except, maybe shooting drones and run).
@@_The_Specter_ But, I guess, at least some players (myself f/example) know nothing about these EDH day-one game mechanics, because there are no related gameplay cycles in game (and, thus, there are no guides about).
A few ships have coffee makers. Something I think is intentional (could be wrong) that most people haven't noticed; Jaques is absent from his station. If you scan anomalies while they're reacting you get a new scan. I definitely noticed the damage to the Conda... hard not to, it's my favorite ship. I have 3 that are fully engineered for different purposes. Will be getting a 4th soon.
@@_The_Specter_ They're listed in the codex. They appear at some Notable Stellar Phenomena POIs. There's some in the Alaunus system. They appear as little glowing orbs. Sometimes they're hard to see. No one is really sure what the deal with them is but if you get too close they start to react; usually by emitting damaging electricity or heat. The "attack" isn't all that powerful but you should be careful if you're in a weak ship.
Sadly not yet. I want one, it's very Dead Space. 😜 Also, the human scavenger units have their own unique suits with a stylish dark design. On top of that, scavenger sharpshooters have "hooded" helmets.
IIRC, only the Anaconda shows her hull damage, no other ship does. I bet FDev decided it was too much trouble to do hull damage models for, lessee here, 38 ships, 4 fleet carriers, and 2 capital ships.
I prefer the layout of the coffee maker in the Krait, but maybe just because I don't have a dropship
Doesn't the Krait have 2 coffee makers?
The ‘Vette has a food processor next to the Ready Room, but thanks to F.Dev’s improper placement of the fourth chair, I can’t see it as well anymore.
lol i dont even have a corvette
