  • The weather in Brisbane has been miserable and raining for the past week. However, its finally cleared up just in time for a beautiful sunny weekend. This afternoon we are fishing the out-going low tide here at Nudgee Beach. The lure of choice is the 3.2" Daiwa Bait Junkie Minnow in Ayu Pattern. It is a slightly larger minnow lure, so hopefully it can tempt some larger fish. Its been a while and I'm itching for a flick - so lets get started!
    If you enjoyed the video, please leave a like and comment. Thanks for watching - the support is greatly appreciated. Cheers!

      Hey Roger, thanks for watching and I'm super glad you enjoyed. All my fishing setups are in my video description below - I hope they help. I used a heavy jighead as the current is super strong. Cheers 🍻

    awesome video man. yea its been a miserable weather here in nz as well XD have you thought of using a dropshot rig for flathead? i recon its gonna b so effective since its a softbait rig designed for the bottom and you can get so much more distances out into the channel. just used that method on saltwater for the 1st time and landed 1 small snapper haha softbait was 3 inch but snapper ripped it apart. not to mention worm hooks makes it so much better especially wen fishing in snaggy areas

      @ImJasonFish  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey mate, Have you been fishing recently? The dropshot rig looks interesting. I'll have to scope it out more. Do you use the same technique? Hop and pause? Thanks for coming back to watch and leaving a comment 😊

      @@ImJasonFish yea been trying to XD the technique i use for dropshot is several light twitches n sometimes a hop if i want to create some movement. basically i am dragging the sinker while the softbait wiggles like a worm. weight i use is 14gram. mainly cause thats how much my rod can handle at the max

    Hey mate, love the videos. Very informative. I've seen you use the same retrieve for a few different species - just wondering if you like to mix things up depending on what you're targeting? I have great success with the hop hop pause when targeting Flathead (using a curly tail) but usually the bream don't take to it. Curious if a slow roll of a minnow is better for Bream? What do you think? Cheers mate!

      Hey Peter, generally the hop and pause will work with all species. However, it's always a good idea to mix up your technique to see what is working on the day. Slow rolls, long and short pauses, etc.. I hope this helps! Thanks for watching and leaving a comment 😊

    Hi Mate, you mentioned that you can do a hop and pause, and a double hop and pause, but what happens if I do a triple hop and pause?? By my calculations its should send the fish absolutely randy but curious to hear your thoughts.

      Yes, a good variety of hops and pauses is a good start to see what is working on the day. Hope this helps 👍

    Great some1 who actually eats the fish they catch for once. Why do ppl buy fish from the shops but let go all the fish they catch?

      Hey Ben, I don't understand why as well haha. They are definitely missing out when they grab seafood from the freezer aisle. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment 👍

    Hi Jason I like yr videos really like the locations and action. One thing I find refreshing is a lot of yr legal fish go later to the frying pan. A lot of the modern day fishermen throw back almost everything. It’s like they’re not aware that we have even in the every day estuary variety’s some of the best eating fish in the World. Yes throw back all undersize fish and stick to the laws, such as not allowed to keep any more than 1/flathead over 70cm. If they’re worried about the killing part it’s a much more hostile process that happens to get a steak on their plate.Really mate Hunter Gatherer and all that kill to eat.

      Hey Justin, I 100% agree with you - we are so lucky that we have a morgasbord of seafood right on our door step. I laugh when people say they enjoy eating fish (frozen aisle) and wouldn't eat freshly caught fish - their loss. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment 😊
