Great video brother, never seen you down at hays but it’s a great spot! Hope to see you there sometime soon; I’ve had some great success there just like you seem to always do! Tight lines 🎣
Nice one mate!!! My name's Mitch, met you couple months ago down at decker park fishing. Finally off the donut, gonna have to try there once the weather clears. Always watching out for your content. Keep it up!
Hey Mitch, how long ago? I can't remember sorry! But thanks for saying g'day 😊 Yeah mate, so good to land some good fish and get a video out! Give it a go! Good luck and let me know how you go! Cheers mate 👍
Hey Jason what tides do you reckon work best for trevs, bream and flatty at Hayes inlet? Do they all bite on the same rising/falling/slack tide or do they all have different preferences ?
Hi Jason made the trek from Toowoomba yesterday, got there bottom of the tide, and it started to run in, absolute zilch fish in an hr, then run in tide beat me. So probably better to go while tide running out, perhaps two hrs before bottom? As your local when the tides right in can you fish the edge of where you enter the water at hays Inlet. Went to woody point jetty and some rocks along the foreshore, returned to toowoomba with a donut, cheers John
Im a big fan mate learn to lure for 3 years now but still have not catching anyfish yet after watched your video I went to buy 8 double clutch lure and try at Brighton today but still nothing hoping to see you around 1 say for a lesson :)
Hey mate, keep trying! I get alot of donut sessions. Lures are alot challenging to catch fish on compared to bait. But that's the fun of it! Good luck and tight lines! Thanks for watching and leaving a comment 😊
Great video, say keeping a fish for a feed or future bait, how would you go about storing your catch when fishing on flats or wading? Would a plastic bag be enough until I returned to the car and put it on ice?
Hey Jack mate, Thanks for watching and leaving a comment 👍 Yeah mate, I use a alvey wading bag and put the fish inside a plastic bag. The fish is not in direct sunlight so it'll be okay for the rest of the fishing session (2-3 hours) and till I get home and clean them. Hope this helps 😊
Hey Anthony, I would recommend using a loop knot to tie your leader to the lure. However remove the split ring as I have cast my lure off from it slipping through the split ring. Hope this helps - thanks for watching and leaving a comment 😊
hi jason thanks for taking me back in time i have fished there back in the 1960s we used to use bait i think plastics are the best though i might get the fishing gear out and have a go i will fish around newcastle nelson bay area ps look up sticky fishing on youtube
Hey there great video, I have never caught a fish on a lure before and I know where that spot is just wondering how long it took for you to catch your first fish. Great video overall though, keep it up
Hey mate, lure fishing is a whole different ball game. Usually it's all donut sessions. You just have to be lucky the fish are feeding and firing. Persistence also helps haha, as you need a whole lot of that! I actually had a strike on my first/second cast and landed the first flatty a couple cats later. I was very lucky the fish were firing as past trips to the exact same spot were fruitless or the occasional little fish. Hope this help. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment 😊
Hey mate, they are Stingray Sunnies from BCF. They are like the mid range for sunnies. A lot better quality then the cheap ones and good value compared to the expensive ones. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment 😊
Hey Kyle, you're spot on mate. I went to Margate Beach in the morning but was pretty quiet. But so good they were firing on the afternoon. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment 😊
Hey Brad mate, they are a stiffer carbon rod compared with my older Pflueger rod which was flexible and floppy, but both the same length and kg rating - Check out my older fishing videos to see it in action! But in short I love my rod, the stiffer action is great for setting hooks, but flexible to have a nice bend when loaded up with a descent fish such as a 1.2m shovelnose which handled it with ease - check out that video. The NS Amped 2 rods comes with fuji eyelets which are smooth and the best. Great light and ergonomic rod all round for hours and hours of casting. You can get them at tackle shops instore and online - have a quick google "NS Amped 2 Rods". I have a Light and Extra Heavy one. If you have anymore questions, let me know! Thanks for watching and leaving a comment 👍
Hey Raymond, you can access Hays Inlet via Haysmouth Parade in Clontarf. Good luck - let me know how you go! Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! 😊
Hey mate, the rod is a NS black hole amped 2 2-4kg 7' rod. All my gear setups are in each video description below. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment 😊

What’s your preferred knot on hard bodies
Hey Anthony, I would recommend using a loop knot to tie your leader to the lure. However remove the split ring as I have cast my lure off from it slipping through the split ring. Hope this helps - thanks for watching and leaving a comment 😊
what knot do you use to tie the braid to mono
What is the best direction for the wind to be blowing to fish there?
Hey Luke, a northerly wind blowing over your shoulder is the best wind direction in this spot. Hope this helps! 👍
Thank you for the info. Keep the good videos coming!
