@@gmailalt6928 for me kurzgesagt was the first infotainment channel I ran into 9 years ago. back then I was graduating high school, and I hated studying for all but a few subjects. kurzgesagt showed that even if you're not good in a topic, learning can be fun if explained right
Learning is fun but not everyone enjoys studying and being tested on it. Get it straight.

Tests suck big time. Feels like i must remember every single detail about that special subject. No time to think it over. Next subject is next day. Oh and then there are million different subjects to think about.

Hi Kurzgesagt! I am currently a college student and was very inspired by your periodic table poster, though i was unable to afford them, I and my roommate tried to make each element ourselves on photoshop as a week long project and that was when I truly realized how much work your guys really do (The 100x60cm poster we made is currently on our walls and it really sparks up our home). the first thing I do when I finally get a job is to support you inspire others, Thank you for being awe-inspiring
For anyone that doesnt want to do the math, thats around 40 days for ONE 10-15 minute video

22.2 million subscribers? I'd say that was some real respect.
Assuming 6 or so staff working 8 hours a day, that about matches their output, and seems reasonable for a channel with 22 million subscribers- especially with their patreon.
@@Florkl Yes, the 1000 hours is man-hours, I guess, (woman hours too!) so divided by - or multiplied? number of staff working on it does whittle down the real time taken over it.
Or 25 people working for 40hrs.
Narrator Steve Taylor just has the best science teacher voice ever. Plus his name reminds me of Steven Tyler and Aerosmith.

How, then, do you release a video more than once a month if 1000 hours (straight) are about 6 weeks?
Are those hours distributed, or do you have multiple teams working on different videos simultaneously
They mean 1000 working hours. Like if one person put 8 hours into something you get 8 hours of work but if two people do it you have 16 working hours. They also have script written and animators that work on more than 1 project at a time

What makes Kurzgesagt so special?
Uhm... nothing? It does things different than other info dump channels regarding visuals, but it's still the same as them regarding the info they convey.
What makes you special is despite the type of art you do it's the quality and effects you do, plus the narration, effort into writing, and budget for quality music. These videos have as stated thousands of hours at most put into them. That speaks for itself.
