So far, I’ve only finished volume 1 of LOTM and I have my personal criticisms, but when it hits peaks, it is genuinely so insane. If they adapt it properly, it might bring things like Reverend Insanity, TBATE, and Shadow Slave into main stream.
@@magicsong5866 I would definitely have to agree. In spite of people hyping the story up for a long time, it also took quite a bit of time for me to be properly engaged. I would say my interest got properly hooked during the box-puppet fight from the complex battle and became further enhanced during Old Neil’s “eyesore” of a house when it came to emotions.
After reading brilliant web novels like ORV, LOTM and currently Shadow Slave, I now don't hold TBATE in such high regards anymore. A lot of the moving elements seem less ingenious than they used to.The pacing is just (atrociously) slow, worse than in Supreme Magus, and I'm almost even cought up. All the chapters in-between of side characters in TBATE is extremely abnoxious. LOTM included side character POVs with such grace comparitively, it's ridiculous. Believe it or not but even Supreme Magus (not cought up) is above TBATE for me at this point. Apparently many people don't like it, and I can see why, however SM has strengths some of the other ones don't have at all. For instance, several villains in SM have strong motives for why they're evil in the eyes of most people, not simply wanting to be the most powerful creature alive. Not only that, the magic system is very detailed and grows more complex and intricate the stronger the characters become. One reason the magic system is so good is because every single species, of which there are many, uses magic intrinsic to them. By the way, I really love reading, despite that TBATE was/is probably the most annoying novel to read, ever, which doesn't make sense since I'm pretty sure there's way less chapters than in the other novels. Although maybe they're longer. Also, this isn't actually the only reason why TBATE is below the others in my humble opinion.

Good Novel??? I think you meant the BEST novel no questions asked. It has the best writing ive ever seen in any novel and let me tell you, I've read ALOT. If this gets animated I will legit ascend to heaven.
I'm thinking how this could go whether in trailer or the actual series, is if there was some sort of world map in the lotm universe displaying all the continents and it's affiliations (people and their origin, currency, national affairs and such). That would really add effect and meaning into the series if that was shown first as an intro.
@@FYgoat It wouldn't I don't think, the map of the world was always available to Klein and he didn't immediately notice. @@Neamio that just means you haven't seen the VERY people glazing it. Like, it literally has an average score of 8.5 on MAL and is in the top 50-60s iirc, if that doesn't tell you something then I don't know what is.
@@Neamio But of course when LotM comes out next year, I'll give it a chance and if it's as good as people say then I'll watch it all the way through but for now I'll stay skeptical. Gotta keep expectations low.
I've read a lot of novels from china, korea and japan, heck I've read some from south east asia but I can honestly say LoTM is one the best I've ever read
5:00 "When the animation is this good the story is mid" biggest lie ever made
Yup, especially for donghua. Since the novel has to be extremely popular to have this quality… just quite sad that novels like RI probably won't get donghua
Bro saw ufotable and immediately thought about Demon Slayer I bet. It's definitely no Demon Slayer; it is way better and that alone speaks volumes.
@@TechThroughHistory Does it really speak volumes? Demon slayer animation is amazing, but the story is just box standard shounen tbh, that bar isn't high
@@gaboratoria That's precisely the point I'm making because the story is definitely there. Even cuttlefish confirmed he loved what they have done so far with the first eight episodes. I believe the pilot has already aired in China?
@@sakuseihuoshen Cual es esa RI?
So far, I’ve only finished volume 1 of LOTM and I have my personal criticisms, but when it hits peaks, it is genuinely so insane. If they adapt it properly, it might bring things like Reverend Insanity, TBATE, and Shadow Slave into main stream.
my only problem with vol 1 is the pacing, but I believe the donghua can fix it
@@magicsong5866 I would definitely have to agree.
@@sign2615 Have you continued reading LOTM? If so, what's your opinion now?
@@officialnoonon I have not had too much time as of recent to continue reading LOTM and even Shadow Slave for that matter. However, I do intend to pick both of the series’ back up and multiple other literary pieces when I have proper free time again.

While i am super excited for the anime adaptation, I have to keep reminding myself to lower my expectations. There's just no way they can cover vol 1 (250 chapters) in 12 episodes, even if it is 30 - 40 minutes long per episode. I really hope they don't skip over important details

I'm thinking how this could go whether in trailer or the actual series, is if there was some sort of world map in the lotm universe displaying all the continents and it's affiliations (people and their origin, currency, national affairs and such). That would really add effect and meaning into the series if that was shown first as an intro.
yes but if the world map was shown it would spoil the big twist that SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER he never actually left his homeland

I just started reading 2 days ago, I’m at ch. 50+ and man I’m so hooked. Probably one of the best webnovels out there if not the best when ot comes to storytelling, world-building, and unique concepts.
Lol chapter 50 was when he was practicing using guns and stuff. There's literally no world building yet, neither any character development or much power system. You're either reading a novel for the first time or simply glazing. It's great but even fans agree first 100 chapters are the weakest in the book
@@bullymaguire5838
No worldbuilding in 50 chapters?
- Detailed descriptions of objects: inkwell, pistol, room, surroundings, crimson moon.
- Poor living conditions in the lower class area.
- Location and names of roads, means of transportation such as two-horse carriages.
- Definition of Beyonder, method of becoming beyonder
- Definition of losing control
- Creation myth of evernight church
- Currency system of Loen
...
And you said no worldbuilding ?
@evernight6041 Jesus Christ this is not called world building. This is just scene setting and general information. Did you really think before thr author told you that lower class people were living like royalty. Name of roads is world building really?
You will cum if you open any school book I guess cause the very first page is index which tells you everything you need to know.
Telling some details of power system, and giving very basic information of places does not equal to great world building otherwise every sing novel ever written would have great world building. What you described can be found in each novel ever written

It's like the start of a new Era. I don't know many anime out there, that I would dare to compare to LotM. If they do this well, it's gonna be in my top 5. If they adapt more volumes, it could be the best "anime" ever made.

LoTM getting an anime before a non-dropped manhua is insane to me. Really hope Rev Insanity doesn't do the same. I'd rather wait for weekly chapters over year-long season breaks, with possibilities of non-continuation
5 seasons, 12 episodes, 40 minutes (1 volume per season)
So season 5 gonna end in a massive cliffhanger before the best arcs 💀

Mr. Azik is as gorgeous as ever.
This looks interesting, the visual setting reminds me of “I’m really not the evil god’s lackey” which manhua I really like.
RI is the only one left LOTM and ORV is getting anime adaptation
I would say that RI getting an adaptation would require a miracle, but the ban on the book has softened a lot. I am praying to the fool and great love that it gets a good adaptation
What about Shadow Slave? Definitely don't miss out on this one. The protagonist actually grows to become a better or more humane version of himself, he probably suffers more than all the other protagonists combined, there's quite a bit of mystery similar to LOTM, and so on.
We need this and ORV animated asap
