They also did a screening of the first episode in China and people said that there weren't any anime original scenes (sorry for saying anime I cant remember how to write the other word right now) and it was faithful to the novel they only omitted unnecessary parts and overall it looks like it's gonna be good
The chat is alot more civil compared to other streams and they were being nice about why they wont give donghua a chance and can you honestly blame them with all the shitty donghuas out rn also i think some of them will change their mind if they do the adaptation of lotm justice

There's so much chinese trash xianxia webnovels and suddenly Lord of The Mysteries appears, it's just so good, the setting, the mysteries, the MC, and ofc the side characters, there's so many with great backstories. My favorite is Mr Door, tho I don't think he'll appear on the first few seasons
To everyone curious about LoTM series, do NOT read the manhua, it was made without the author permission and it completely ignores the "vibe" of the setting and some of the plot, the donghua has the author involved and if does justice to the webnovel it will be amazing, alongside ORV and Shadow slave they are the best written webnovels Imho. To put how good it is into context I would compare worldbuilding and magic system as great as something made by huge novel authors like Brandon Sanderson
I don't know about ORV cause out of the top 3 I would only put lotm, shadow slave, and Reverend Insanity at the same lvl of masterpiece though understandably RI isn't continued so I get it

This book is one of the first books added to the National Library of China in the webnovel category. It's super popular in china and really popular outside of china. There's many lotm events in major cities around china. It's even got published to 4 physical books for main land CN, HK, Thailand, and Taiwan. (I think Russia has one now too so I think 5) I've read a decent amount of chinese wuxia and xianxia etc. ISSTH, Reverend Insanity, AWE, ATG, Coiling Dragon, BTTH, Warlock Magus and I think that LOTM sets itself apart and above the rest of these with great world building, lore, and a very interesting power system.
AOT is so good because of the anime. The story itself was kinda lacking. Reason why when Mappa took the work the quality and impact of the anime dropped so much (also from overwork but that was just for the first part)

While i am super excited for the anime adaptation, I have to keep reminding myself to lower my expectations. There's just no way they can cover vol 1 (250 chapters) in 12 episodes, even if it is 30 - 40 minutes long per episode. I really hope they don't skip over important details
the base material is so peak. 10/10 if they just follow the book, it will be so so good. the start will be a bit slow, I mean slow not bad, slow but good.
Some people in here are making comments about the writing on how the novel is fantastic, but uhh... lads, that doesn't mean shit for the show. Well it does. Having a good source material helps a fuck load, but the transition from web novel to a TV series requires things to be changed a bit. So things can suffer. Pacing, characterizations, etc. etc. The show HAS all the elements for a fantastic series, but it is VERY possible they drop the ball.

Novel is amazing, and anime is expected to have at least 5 seasons. And someone said season 1 has 12 ep. But firat episode is 40min long ( maybe all of them are).
So far, I’ve only finished volume 1 of LOTM and I have my personal criticisms, but when it hits peaks, it is genuinely so insane. If they adapt it properly, it might bring things like Reverend Insanity, TBATE, and Shadow Slave into main stream.

I would say my interest got properly hooked during the box-puppet fight from the complex battle and became further enhanced during Old Neil’s “eyesore” of a house when it came to emotions.

Has anyone here read The Legendary Mechanic? I thought the beginning chapters, when they tried to turn the protagonist into a fighter drone inside the Germinal Organization (or whatever it was called) and then after he escaped when he became a sniper, was entertaining and extremely well written. I was hooked and very immersed. Well, that changed when he left the starter planet. Everything after that had none of the gravitas from the beginning.
Donghuas are hit or miss but i really recommend Blades of the Guardians, its one of those that actually has a complex story that kinda works and isn't too convoluted, the writing is pretty good and animation wise it has some of the best fight coreography from 2023
As a Chinese who read both imo Orv hits different it’s more about breaking the forth wall and a strong central theme of stories and love, but lotm does have good character development, put the power system in a better use and large complete world building. Both are good in their own way:)
Just you know guys, a lot of Chinese novels are fucking good. The one that ruins those stories are the adaptation of it. Either to manhua or donghua. I don't know how, but some of Chinese novels are so unique with their plots that i got surprised a couple of times by it. Of course they have their overused theme as well, like how "isekai" is for Japan. For them, it's "Quick Transmigration". Basically possessing another body in a bunch of worlds with a certain missions from "system", so that they can fulfill their wishes at the end.
i thought for a second it looked familiar this is that dropped banger ass manhwa one with like cool ass victorian punk with magic-esc class system this shit was a banger of a read, but i never ever thought it would be one to get adapted though.

In my opinion this has the best worldbulding in all of anime it’s even better than One Piece in terms of worldbuilding. Anime fans are not ready for this peak. And the first volume (which the first season will cover) scared the shit out of me. It was so detailed that I had a very ominous feeling being watched (I know it sounds ridiculous). Oh and the powersystem is insane. I mean the trailers give some hints to it but you won’t know until you watch it

the base material is so peak. 10/10 if they just follow the book, it will be so so good. the start will be a bit slow, I mean slow not bad, slow but good.
Some people in here are making comments about the writing on how the novel is fantastic, but uhh... lads, that doesn't mean shit for the show. Well it does. Having a good source material helps a fuck load, but the transition from web novel to a TV series requires things to be changed a bit. So things can suffer. Pacing, characterizations, etc. etc.
The show HAS all the elements for a fantastic series, but it is VERY possible they drop the ball.

Novel is amazing, and anime is expected to have at least 5 seasons. And someone said season 1 has 12 ep. But firat episode is 40min long ( maybe all of them are).
If u want to truly experience lotm world read it as a web novel not as donghua. Web novel is the original source and the best written material

So far, I’ve only finished volume 1 of LOTM and I have my personal criticisms, but when it hits peaks, it is genuinely so insane. If they adapt it properly, it might bring things like Reverend Insanity, TBATE, and Shadow Slave into main stream.
my only problem with vol 1 is the pacing, but I believe the donghua can fix it
@@magicsong5866 I would definitely have to agree. In spite of people hyping the story up for a long time, it also took quite a bit of time for me to be properly engaged. I would say my interest got properly hooked during the box-puppet fight from the complex battle and became further enhanced during Old Neil’s “eyesore” of a house when it came to emotions.

Has anyone here read The Legendary Mechanic? I thought the beginning chapters, when they tried to turn the protagonist into a fighter drone inside the Germinal Organization (or whatever it was called) and then after he escaped when he became a sniper, was entertaining and extremely well written. I was hooked and very immersed. Well, that changed when he left the starter planet. Everything after that had none of the gravitas from the beginning.

Donghuas are hit or miss but i really recommend Blades of the Guardians, its one of those that actually has a complex story that kinda works and isn't too convoluted, the writing is pretty good and animation wise it has some of the best fight coreography from 2023

As a Chinese who read both imo Orv hits different it’s more about breaking the forth wall and a strong central theme of stories and love, but lotm does have good character development, put the power system in a better use and large complete world building. Both are good in their own way:)

The one that ruins those stories are the adaptation of it. Either to manhua or donghua.
I don't know how, but some of Chinese novels are so unique with their plots that i got surprised a couple of times by it.
Of course they have their overused theme as well, like how "isekai" is for Japan. For them, it's "Quick Transmigration". Basically possessing another body in a bunch of worlds with a certain missions from "system", so that they can fulfill their wishes at the end.

In my opinion this has the best worldbulding in all of anime it’s even better than One Piece in terms of worldbuilding. Anime fans are not ready for this peak. And the first volume (which the first season will cover) scared the shit out of me. It was so detailed that I had a very ominous feeling being watched (I know it sounds ridiculous). Oh and the powersystem is insane. I mean the trailers give some hints to it but you won’t know until you watch it
