Okay, but......in the animated version, the genie keeps his powers after he's freed. So Aladdin should've just wished him free, and then he could've done whatever Aladdin wanted
@@MohamedHassan-or1ut half right. In order to be a country you need three things and three things only. Land for which your nation resides. People to populate your nation and a symbol to rally said people under. These three things are at the core, what make a nation a nation.
Aladdin: “I wish to be a prince.” *fails miserably* Aladdin after a few more failed wishes: “Hmm.. I wish-“ Genie: “You’re hopeless, man. Just wish to marry the woman.” Aladdin: “Oh yeah-“ *That’s how it should’ve gone* 😂😂
"I wish to be undeniably the ideal husband for Jasmine" Done. Boi doesnt have to think. Only the genie does. Because its "undeniable" people would just KNOW about his greatness the instant they doubt him.
The problem is that the Genie isn’t exactly a genius. Though he can see into the future (probably? It’s a little ambiguous), he’s shown multiple times to be outwitted by Aladdin himself. He’s unlikely to come up with a better plan than our Boi. Plus, he’s *on* Aladdin’s side. If Al gets what he wants, Genie goes free. It’s already in his best interest to make sure Al gets the girl. Thus, making him a prince is likely the best the Genie can come up with as well.
Good point. They give the genie a set of rules so he’s not omnipotent but you can find plenty of loopholes in the rules given. Can’t wish for more wishes? That’s cool. Didn’t say anything about wishing for a new genie.
Koykoy ONLY Except that he only wants Jasmine to be his wife because he loves her, not for social, political, or monetary gain, which are the only things that marrying her against her will would give him aside from a really unhappy marriage.
Aladdin: "I wish to be allowed to wish for more wishes." Genie: "Not technically against the rules, so sure." Aladdin: "I wish for more wishes." There you go, Genie is enslaved to you so you effectively get infinite wishes.
Wish for the ability to grant yourself any ability. Then you would not have to wish for anything; you could just give yourself the ability to do it. This might help if there is a rule about wishing to change rules.
Forgotten Rights That's what I would always wish for. I mean if Jafar was the world's greatest sorcerer would a love spell really be that hard for him to cast on Jasmine?
It wouldn't have worked, like he said, not everyone is affected by the wish, it would still be a thing in the Sultan's mind, and he can just put the law back into place. Wish wasted.
@@Aspenglade It wouldn't have really worked, like MatPat said, not everybody is affected by the wish, so the law would still be a thing in the Sultan's mind, and he can just put the law back into place. Wish wasted and gone.
The problem is he doesn’t think Jasmine likes him because he’s a street rat, that’s one of the reasons why he wishes to be a prince. So wishing for Jasmine to be sultan, according to his thoughts, isn’t going to help him.
well he still has three wishes so ..... PLAN OF ACTION: Wish No. 1 make Jasmine sultana Wish No. 2 make himself a foreign sultan then , send a diplomatic mission or some other dumb excuse to meet jasmine then marry her and.... Wish No. 3 set genie free. boom . EASY.
This video does a lot of research and comes up with a very bad plan. Just wish to have all the qualities needed for Jasimine to love and marry you. That is not wishing for love but to have the qualities that would make you loved.
take it one step further and say whatever is written on it in the future also comes true, paper clears after you make a wish, and you get it whenever you need it.
The issue here is that Aladdin didn’t believe he had a chance with Jasmine as himself. So making her sultan would have been more effective, but he never would’ve wished it because all he wanted was a way to « impress » her…
Genie: 3 rules. No bringing back the dead. No killing anyone. No making someone fall in love. Oh and only 3 wishes. Me: That's 4 rules. Genie: Got a problem? Me: No you do tho. Genie: Why is that? Me: I wish there was no rules on my wishes. Genie: Well F*ck.
The entire movie is his first wish coming true. When he ends up with Jasmine he becomes a prince. This is why Genie is allowed to keep using magic to help him without making new wishes, because all of the magic is in service to granting that wish.
“You can’t wish for more wishes” “I wish for more genies.” Edit: After returning after a year... HOLY THOSE LIKES- Thank you guys so much for the likes, also half of the comments are jokes and the other half are people arguing over this scenario - 💀
Fun fact: Aladdin is set in a post apocalyptic world, but they tried to portray an ancient time-line, so when they flew over Greece and Aladdin threw an apple to Jasmin, he proposed to her by doing so because that's what they did in Ancient Greece.
That's just a theory. The only evidence supporting it is the Genies references to modern people, and there's a confirmed reason why. Apparently, Genie can see into the past and future, but he cannot see his own personal future.
@@masedaace5473 the fact that ancient Greece tossed apples to each other to propose is not a theory, its a historical fact. What you claim is a theory is the timeline of Aladin. In the canonical video games, why are stop signs in the sand, atom bombs in the sand, the statue of liberty in the sand? Are you saying that we were playing the video game through the eyes of genie even though you control Aladin and genie is separately in the game and not just the narrator. Alternative route: wish for the genie's freedom and just ask for a way to get married to Jasmine as a favor. Genie's a cool bro, he'd be willing to help.
@@sassas1487 I doubt it, as mentioned somewhere else getting married to Jasmine is a really hard wish that even genie at full power couldn't really do. The prince wish didn't change that Aladdin was a foreigner, or that the land he came from doesn't exist, etc. Likewise I doubt de-powered genie could change everyone's view on the law etc. There are more effective ways to get married to Jasmine than this.
That only works as a second wish. You must first make the "marry to the princess" wish (so the effect directed to "everyone alive" has a valid definition). -> It could be worked around by adding the words "WILL" and "FUTURE" [it may even work with a hypotetical wish not necesary granted by the same genie].
I still think there's a lot going for, "I wish for the infinite power of a genie without any limitations or restrictions." Kinda gets you omnipotence in one wish without having to be bound to a lamp or anything. Easy fix to all problems. Lol
Technically this should work. Jafar became a genie, but forgot the magical cuffs that bind a genie to a lamp and keeps them prisoner. When the owner of the lamp sets a genie free, they're not performing the act themselves but rather give permission for the genie to set himself free. By that logic genie should be able to grant Aladdin the wish to be a free genie.
@@mebar7080 thats not how it would work during that time period.. "divorce" would usually occur if one of them died or if the relationship between the families didn't work out. Divorce is a taboo subject for some races and or ethnicities especially older generations. If you could divorce based on no love then most marriages during that time period would have been voided. The way marriage worked during that time is you'd have to be married off to someone, and follow your specific role; love had nothing to do with marriage back then because marriage was like a contract between two families.
A problem to wishing Jasmine be Sultan. Unless Aladdin is very specific about the details, her ascension could result in her father dying to make it happen. The Sultan is incompetent, so that might be a good thing, but Jasmine might not be keen on her father dying.
Loved this theory! But I disagree with MatPat's reasoning of why asking to be a foreign prince wouldn't work. Yes, a lot of the time they did arrange marriages to be tactical but Jasmine's father wasn't like that. He clearly loves her and wants her to be happy and have love so I honestly think that as long as Alladin was a prince and therefore an eligible partner for Jasmine, her father would let her choose to marry him.
Not mention, when a price shows to your town with an offer of 75 golden camels, and threat of 10,000 soldiers, well. Turning the offer down may be considered quite unwise by some ^^
@@memywestie4049 use that to make a change to the outdated system I agree with you, the institutions don't work for the warriors Those with ADHD Ready for bears and mountain lions Measurements of what you know
That would have worked perfectly too. Most women had arranged marriages, especially royalty, and the beginning of the movie is her father trying to arrange one for her. Back then you didn't "fall" in love you grew to love. No need for her love you until she's been your wife a few years.
@@MamaMOB or she could end up leaving him right after because she doesn't love him. Nor does he give her any benefits with power or wealth. So she would have no reason to stay with him. Also, nobody going to realise the public opinion problem in it? After some random nobody suddenly out of nowhere marries the princess, there would be chaos.
I love this idea, really ! The fact the best way to gain her love it’s to let her rule is fantastic. Well the only problem is Aladin don’t seems to think than Jasmin love him, I don’t know of it is more explicit in the french version (because I’m french) but when the Genie ask at Aladin to free him like promise Aladin refuse, because he think than without the genie is not a prince and will not DESERVE Jasmin. Even when she discover his real identity he prefer lie and say he is a prince who disguise some times in Beggar. But will be a proof of his great kindness of souls, sacrificing what he desires to free the one who loves him from her destiny and offer Agraba a better future.
Xylophone then just change it to “I wish the sultan would get rid of the law that prevents jasmine from marrying whoever she wants” boom problem solved
Xylophone why wouldn’t it? If he allowed Jasmine to do as she wished in the present day rather than changing the past shouldn’t that make it to where the. There is no problem bc the rule has been abolished and nothing in the past has been changed?
Actually if you look at the history of women in power they often keep their lovers at a distance to preserve their power (see Catherine the Great and Elizabeth the first). Aladdin would have a much better chance wishing for Jasmine to not be a princess and either use his last wish(es) to set up a life they can be happy together with or give her the lamp and let her use her wishes. Option two has the bonus of letting Aladdin free the genie after they use 5 wishes.
Nah, a far better move would be to ask the Gene to make him as powerful, or at the very least, a step below him, supernaturally. This will give him REAL powers, not those powers that are dependent on others recognising it. From this, he could create an army of himself and defeat the entire state(since the technology of his time cannot stand before a superhuman who possesses real power) and force people to follow his orders.

If he wanted to be a real prince or Salten, he could have wished for his own, land, property, and kingdom by simply wishing for a kingdom of his own. He could even make it a paradise in the desert.
I would wish these exact words "I wish to be able to grant wishes, not to be a genie, nor to have to follow any rules saying that if someone wishes for something, I must grant the wish, but simply to have the power to grant any number of wishes to anyone I want, including myself, and the wish being granted must be of my own free will." Fun fact: Aladdin is set in a post apocalyptic world, but they tried to portray an ancient time-line, so when they flew over Greece and Aladdin threw an apple to Jasmin, he proposed to her by doing so because that's what they did in Ancient Greece.

Option two has the bonus of letting Aladdin free the genie after they use 5 wishes.

Nah, a far better move would be to ask the Gene to make him as powerful, or at the very least, a step below him, supernaturally. Weird question: have you been on a fnaf amino before?
Weren't you killed in a duel?
Wait... is that technically wishing for more wishes, just for somebody else?

He could have just wished that I wish to be a genie who can make unlimited wishes for himself.
That’s literally how the villain get defeated, by wishing to be a genie and then getting trapped inside a lamp
Genie: you can't wish for more wishes
Me: i wish i could
I wish to have unlimited good Genies.
Nothing in the rules saying you can't have more than one Genie

Here’s a mini theory, calculate how fast is the carpet is in Aladdin.
Is it a theory though?
From the coldest regions of Alaska (i would guess) to Agrabah (which is based on The Middle East) in about an hour or two (when Alladin returned Agrabah seemed pretty deserted... Get it Desert/Deserted :D )
@@griffinarcher2911 it's the sort of thing that MatPat used to do on Game Theory.

@@f.b.iagent8775 Sultana = Sultan's Wife
Who's the current Sultan? Jasmine's father
Get it?
@@ShubhThakkar Sultanas are also a kind of raisin (or something like that),which could also be a problem.
[Edit: might just be the name of the type of grape used, but anywho...]
Those other 2 wishes could've been used for big emergencies, like say the city ran out of food / water - poof! Suddenly you've got some farmland within a magical climate bubble (keeping it suitable for farming, unlike the desert) that harvests itself and grows food as fast as a timelapse video, or a fountain with a large base that refills whatever water you take from it, and it always stays perfectly clean.
True. I think the second wish shouldn't have counted. Aladdin didn't ask to to rescued from the wee water

2. You can’t wish for people to fall in love with you
3. You can’t wish people back from the dead.
i wish for more wish-granting genies ;)
Guys everyone knows it's 3 wishes

This is the second funniest comment here I have read.
I haven't finished the video but I like the idea that the genie was just playing the long game and eventually fulfilled his wish to actually become a prince
"I wish I have a love potion"

love potion? thats a fancy name for chloroform

The line "Don't you dare close your eyes" comes from a part of the trip where she went to cover her eyes, probably cause they were teleporting between highlights of the world - that is about the only way I can see them circling the world in 'real time'. He did not want her missing anything, it was not a threat.
Or Agrabah isn't on Earth actually, and those places despite looking like from countries we know weren't actually from them. (Which kinda is confirmed actually...)
Only MatPat would take that phrase in the song as a threat. LOL
Aladdin is clearly encouraging her to keep her eyes open to "A hundred thousand things to see" (which is the very next line in the song). Much like he isn't trying to suffocate Jasmine by telling her to "Hold your breath, it gets better".
If you take the tv show into account, it really is earth. Fictional earth but still. Greece and Macedonia are locations visited and mentioned.
