Thank you for this sew along Michelle. Love your sewing vlogs as they're so precise, you explain everything so very well. And love how Misty joined in too. 😊💕😺💕
Dungarees look great on you & agree much prefer the way you fastened them with the loop rather than a button hole - also super detail with the bias binding you. Great sew along & still maintain you should be teaching - your tutorials are so clear & precise. 👏👏👏
As an inexperienced sewist I wasn't sure if I could make these, but with the help of your tutorial, I have finished them (it took me about 6 months on and off :)). Next time, I would use a lighter fabric, as I used denim for my first pair and it was very bulky when trying to sew through multi-layers, I'll try linen next time. Thank you so much.
After seeing yours i bought pattern im just finishing straps then inside leg and hem, they were so easy to construct i never looked at instructions i just watched you, i hope when i try them they look as good as yours, one thing missing a beautiful cat to sit next to me for cuddles misty is so gorgeous x
Thankyou for an awesome dungarees how to video! Yours look fabulous on you and I love the colour. I’m about to go order the pattern, I’ve wanted a pair for a while lol. Thankyou from this gal in Canada.
Your dungarees look adorable on you Michelle! The size is perfect for you. You did a wonderful sew-along. Easy to understand and supportive for beginners. YAY!
Thanks for this great sewalong. It has helped me as I'm sewing my first pair of these. And I just want to say how much I loved the bit with Misty at the end when you were sewing the inside leg seams, adorable.
I want to join the club too! I absolutely love them Michelle, they look great on you and fit so well. I'll try the medium too as our measurements are near enough the same. Lovely fabric! It goes so nicely with your galaxy tee 😍. Thanks for sharing your sew along. I love how Misty is so persistent, bless 🐈🐾 xx
🤩 Absolutely love your Heydays dungarees, they suit you so well, beautiful linen fabric too. The bias binding is such a lovely touch. I have this pattern too, i will make them eventually. Fab sewalong, thank you Michelle xx
The bias binding looks nice on the finished project. Tweezer are a great idea for retrieving pins in a tight shop. The coveralls turned out beautifully. Good Job!!! Misty saids she wants to help. They look amazing on. Good fit. Not baggy...
Very nice. Thank you. For your next pair might I suggest that your put a full piece of interfacing on the front and back bib after you sew the center seam. I feel like this would reduce some of the bulk at the seams and well as create a bit of a neater finish.
Love your dungas they look great. I did the Erin dungas by T&TB and love them. The only bit I didn’t like was the waist band seams, I hadn’t overlocked them prior to sewing and wish I had as couldn’t do it retrospectively due to the pockets. Binding the seams was also not a resolve for the same reason so used pinking shearers as a last resort. This is why it is better to research how to videos before starting patterns you haven’t done before 🫣 xx
Ahh I know what you mean! I usually find when i do something like that I learn quite a lot from it! It’s a great idea to check reviews and sew alongs before making things just in case xx
They look fantastic on you Michelle a great sewalong, i definitely want to buy that pattern now and the pink linen is gorgeous, misty really liked your sewalong as well hes gorgeous, thankyou for sharing x
Thank you for another great sew along. Been thinking of getting this pattern for a while. Now I have seen how great they look I am definitely going to purchase 😁. Absolutely love Misty appearing in your videos, it really shows what sewing with cats is really like 😂😻
Your dungarees are so lovely! I would to know your comments after you've worn these for a few days. How do they feel getting in and out of the car, or doing housework or just going for a walk. Do they bind anywhere? Do they slip off the shoulders? It's great to see the process and it's lovely to see the fit etc, but knowing how they fare during a normal day of doing things would be really beneficial. Thanks Michelle x .... your explanation with the bias binding was the best I've seen!
Thank you! I have worn them a little bit now and they are perfect apart from next time I would adjust the rise ever so slightly just because when I sit down they can be a bit snug sometimes x
@@SewingBunny Thank you so much for your reply! The rise is always a concern for me so knowing this and having this information is invaluable! thanks again Michelle x
Do you mean to get the camera angles? I use 2 different tripods. One flexible for the whole view to get in the corner of the room and a tall static one angled down for the table view x
What is your sewing machine foot called because I got a brother machine and I think of getting one for my sewing machine and I am thinking of doing these dungarees so I am glad you do the sew along and is it easier to sew and which fabric is best for this pattern
The foot is called an edge foot or narrow edge foot. It is a really great one to have 😁 I think medium weight fabrics are good for this pattern so like mine you could use linen or something like a cord or denim would also work well x
Do you mean the paper pattern? As the PDF you can get directly from their website - shop.deer-and-doe.fr/en/sewing-patterns/65-myosotis-dress-pattern.html Otherwise if it is the paper pattern they are stopping printing them unfortunately so sold out in most shops but you may be able to find one on Etsy or eBay x
Gorgeous dungarees Michelle…if you had passed on those couple of inches you wouldn’t have needed to lengthen them..🤣🤣 great sew along as always..take care xxx
Hi Michelle, you’re dungarees look gorgeous in that pink linen ❤ I’ve got the pattern cut out but I know I’m going to need to lengthen it as I’m 6’ but also have a long torso so I was just wondering if you would be so kind as to measure the length from crotch to top of bib on your pair please and let me know. Love watching your sew a longs…. They help enormously 😊 x
I found that as the straps are adjustable I could get a good fit as I also have a long torso, however if I squat down they are a bit snug so I would add a couple of cm if I made them again. Just measured mine and it was 58cm
Thank you for your reply, yes I did wonder about movement in the dungarees. I think I will add an inch at least to the top and extra to the length too. Thanks again ❤😊
Why do you sew and then overlock? Why not just overlock? Or am I missing something… in the US we call it a serger and we would just us that instead of doing both.
I find when sewing with wovens the overlocking directly isn’t as secure. I prefer to sew the seam with a straight stitch and then use the overlocking to just finish the seam off. I do directly overlock on jersey fabrics as the overlocking stretches with the fabric. I don’t think there is a right or wrong but that’s just my preference and seems to be how instructions on patterns guide you to do x
Thank you for this sew along Michelle. Love your sewing vlogs as they're so precise, you explain everything so very well. And love how Misty joined in too. 😊💕😺💕
Yeah Misty at the end was so cute and she was wanting cuddles so much 😻

Wonderful! The bias binding is perfect! I’m very glad you chose to do that. And your kitty helper did a good job, too. 😻😆.
These look so nice.
Thank you! I love all the details of this pattern and couldn’t of done it without Misty’s supervision 😻🤣

Yes I use my bodkin all the time for pulling out tight pins from under the machine 😁 thank you so much for watching x
Thanks for the sew along Michelle. An edge stitching foot was included with my machine. I use it so much. Wonderful invention.
Oh that’s fab you had one included! It is a game changer for me 😁

I could do that, to be honest it isn’t too bulky but it is a good idea to do it that way x
Thanks again, I can’t wait to make mine!
Thank you! Enjoy making yours x
thank you for this, I am building the courage to make this one myself. I have the pattern, now to trace and start cutting fabric :)
