  • The day has finally come: I'm making vintage-inspired overalls I've been planning forever. Ever since I bought this hickory stripe denim I knew it was destined to be my perfect workwear, vintage inspired overalls, and that finally happened.

    Yay! I’m so excited that you have a friend. I remember you talking about moving and talking about how didn’t have any friends in the new location yet.

    Great job! I found railroad (hickory) denim at Value Village over a year ago with the intention to make overalls one day. As a very novice garment sewer and after watching this video I think I need to sew more simplified pieces before attempting to pattern match and sew with denim. Love your videos, thanks for sharing.

    Loved this video! I just bought a Bernette machine as well so I’m excited to try some new fabrics on it 😍

    when putting so many pieces together (both legs, bibs, straps, etc), how are you keeping the inside seams clean/comfortable? I've been apprehensive about making overalls because it just feels like a lot of threads poking from the inside, but these are too cute for me to stay away much longer!

      I follow the instructions very closely! It usually says to finish the seams separately and press them to either side, and the bib and waistband seams are all enclosed as well as the zipper, so it’s pretty tidy in there! You can also bias bind the seams for extra tidiness !

    I really like your minimalist background...makes me think you have minimal stuff for this hobby, which we all know sewing requires soooooo much crap. Bwahaha. Can you do a video on the ESSENTIALS and maybe a room design for this economic budget friendly space with just effective minimal tools and storage.

    New to sewing. Why is the zipper on the side instead of the crotch?

    • @MakingCassie
      @MakingCassie  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Because you get into overalls at the side, not the front
