    Do you have this in a spreadsheet or document somewhere with brands and months and application rates? I can make my own, but your lawn certainly looks better than mine ha!

    • @BudgetLawns
      @BudgetLawns  2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I do not. I used to keep a lawn journal and stopped. It started making lawn care something I felt like I had to do instead of wanted to do. Appreciate the compliment.
      Here are the products I use:
      May (if needed): Spectracide Weed Stop for Lawns Plus Crabgrass Killer - Post Emergent
      Jan, March, & Sept: Spectracide Weed Stop for Lawns Plus Crabgrass Preventer - Pre Emergent
      May, June, July, Sept: Expert Gardener 10-10-10 from Walmart or ProCare 10-10-10 from Lowes, whichever one is in stock. Makes no difference to me. - Synthetic Fertilizer and ProCare Natural from Lowes - Organic Fertilizer
      As far as rates go, I just recommend following the label. As you get more and more experience, you can play around with them depending on how comfortable you are. I don't get too exact like a lot of folks. I just get the products down and whatever happens, happens. Hope this helps. Appreciate ya watching!

      @@BudgetLawns so you only use 10-10-10 fertilizers? Or are the synthetic ones you’re using different, because everywhere I see says that Bermuda is a nitrogen hog and needs a high first number. I’m too inexperienced to know whats right.

    • @BudgetLawns
      @BudgetLawns  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yup, the highest I'll use is 10-10-10. It's the synthetic. Here's a video that shows my fertilizing process that I use each time. th-cam.com/video/kecB4qxajZg/w-d-xo.html

    Hey sir, I’m a professional sprayer. Here’s what I use:
    (Based on 250 gallons)
    3.75 bags of urea
    166 oz of three some
    25oz of boulder
    333 oz of colonize is
    333 oz of micro sync
    40 oz chemstick
    Expensive stuff. I don’t use anything I have listed on my lawn. Spectracide weed stop and liquid fertilizer (miracle grow). Takes a couple more applications, but the results are the same. It’s more about when and why, opposed to what. Great vids sir!

    Hey, thanks for the tips. What you showed is a lot simpler than what you often hear online. I‘m currently 15 and this summer I mowed to a different room within my house that looks directly at the lawn. It didn‘t look to pretty most of the year especially after my father cut of like one and a half or two inches at once without bagging it because there was no space left in the trash for biodegradable stuff. I hope next year I will achieve a lawn that is healthy and green. Do I also mow after September and before May? Or do I just let it grow? Also did you show everything you do each year in your video or do you also detach etc? How important is a reel mower? Is it also enough to mow on the lowest setting with the rotary mower?

  • @robertchisholm9337

    I have subscribed and found your info must helpful. I'm located Mt Holly NC. I had lawn service and decided to DIY. I was told to stay from 10x10x10 and stay with slow release N. Using weed and feed and then use slow release fert and in fall do your preemergent. This schedule of treatment is not widely advised. I want to get an understanding with a soil test these products should work without putting out money for product to improve your lawn

    • @BudgetLawns
      @BudgetLawns  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for subbing and the support. Much of lawn care is about finding what works best for you and your grass type. What works for me, may not be recommended by others. I use triple 10 and slow release N. I don't prefer weed and feed products as I like to keep my fertilization and weed control separate. Fall is a great time for pre emergent but so is spring. It can be tough to sort through all the information. A lot of it is trying things out and seeing what works. The plan I have in this video just works. Several years of doing it have proven that. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

    Hi budget lawn ….love the simple basics way to have a good looking lawn! Great content easy to follow steps. plus all the products are easy to find and affordable! My first question is the ratio of the mixing of the 10-10-10 and the pro care organic? My second question is do I weed and feed before scalping or weed and feed afterwards? I always apply a pre emergent in mid February here in north east Georgia! Thanks

    • @BudgetLawns
      @BudgetLawns  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you. Appreciate the feedback. For the triple 10, I put down a lb of N/1000. For the Pro Care, I spread one bag over 4,000 sq/ft, so a lot less to get the slow release a bit later than the triple 10. I don't do any fertilization or weed killing until after the scalp once the bermuda is mostly greened up. Hope this helps. Thanks again.
