I have a house with Centipede grass. I live in the cool season part of Ohio. The house was built in 1910, and apparently has had this type of grass since then. When I first saw it, I asked people what type of grass it is? I was told it couldn’t be Centipede. After doing my research, I’m confident it’s Centipede. It’s light green, and grows slow, I cut it every two weeks. It’s uncomfortable to walk on barefoot. It doesn’t like to be walked on a lot, and it turns completely brown in cold months. Do you agree?

I'm in a new development. They put my sod down in November. My neighbor is getting their sod put down today so I walked outside and asked the contractor. Pretty easy.

Shit, I have at least 3/4 cool season grasses in my lawn. The bent grass I don’t think so. Well at least I know what I’m working with now. Thanks man

This was a great refresher on how to identify grass types. As a cool season guy with a mix of Fescue, Rye and Bluegrass in my yard I can say that Fescue is easy to pick out, kbg and rye can sometimes be a little harder to distinguish (at least for me) they blend together very well
