Quiche is a French speciality from the Lorraine region. It's a savory cake made with bacon, cream and egg. It is very good and easy to make. As for the pronounciation, it is pronounced keesh lorane (kiesch lorähn in German writing)
i literally laughed out loud. My coworker corrected me on how I pronounced stevia. So then I told him how my mom say worsh. We laughed. Its always funny how other people pronounce words.
The non-prescription drugs at Costco are probably the thing you save the most on compared to a regular pharmacy/supermarket. Crazy cheap generic Zyrtec, Benadryl, etc.
Yep. Year supply of the generic Zyrtec and Flonase is cheaper than a 1 or 2 month supply of the brand-name at other stores. That alone pays for my membership because I am allergic pollen, furry animals, dust, leaf-mold so I use the meds every day.
Unless you have like a family of 5, the first thing you need is a vacuum sealer so you can reduce the Flintstonian size packages to manageable portions.
Your comment about sharing pizza vs one pizza per person, definitely is true. I'm from the US, so we all are used to sharing an entire pizza with friends, family, etc. But when I was in Italy, I noticed how easy it was to eat an entire pizza by yourself. I remember, one time in Naples, at a restaurant, watching a nice little old lady and her friend sitting next to us (they must have been in their 70s), and they both ordered a pizza for themselves. And they both ate them - like, all of it. It was amazing.
Very important thing to remember is Costco as a business caters to selling to other businesses. Most of their revenue comes from restuarants, hotels, animal shelters, etc.
Costco is better for families, due to the large pack sizes. We still shop there tho. The electronics has a Costco warranty that is pretty good, so the prices are good overall. This was a nice reaction. Thank you for bringing us along.
It's Always Great To Have This Store & Sam's BC People Throw Parties With Like 5 Or 10 People, Or Big Party With Like 50+ People Where You Can Get Bigger Packages In Food & Canned Food Instead Of Going To Walmart Or Kroger. Which I Love It, Even If It's A Couple Or A Single Person It's Still Great To Shop There, Food Last A Long Time
Costco is the best. Greatness of this country is the convenience of everything. You can always find something at any time, any day. Every time I go back to Spain to visit my family is the first thing I miss about the US. Everytime my spanish friends come to visit they are mesmerize about everything. I love this country!!! Could not go back!!!
I love going to Costco, we go at least twice a month, especially when we receive their monthly sales and to get gas. Love, love their food court. The one we go to has their food court outside and we'll go there when we're in the mood for their hot dogs, best price ever. Also the best place to go "buffeting" (free food sampling).
I'm surprised they only stopped at one sample station. On Sundays, there's usually one on the end of every aisle on the return trip from the back. As for the hot dogs, the store founder refuses to raise the cost of the hot dog/soda meal past $1.50. They brought it up in a meeting once, asking when they'll raise the price, and the owner said, "When I'm dead." Best man in the world in my opinion.
The Costco and Ikea food courts are very good for the prices they charge, and the bonus food samplers when they are available in the Costco stores can get you stuffed because sometimes the samples are plentiful and you feel as though you had a meal.
If you get the executive tier of card they give you a check at the end of your membership for how much you spent. My sister got a check for 60 dollars for only 3 months after she upgraded.
Over here at the Korea’s Costco, you have to take a super long escalator down into the lowest level where they keep the goods that doesn’t sell as quickly, such as some clothing items and furniture. So that means no quick in-and-out if you just want to grab some food items, which is located on the level above (and yes, another super long escalator ride). Surprisingly, the pizza and hot dog are practically the same as those in the states, even the condiments. Sadly no churros and rotisserie chicken though
I felt the same way about Costco in 1982, when the first Metro store opened in Mannheim and my father, as an entrepreneur, was given a card. At that time, we couldn't close our mouths in amazement at the insanity of the merchandise. What one but then also at the cash register bitterly felt that it was an expensive experience at that time.
yeahhhhhh I don't know if we would normally buy so much during our normal grocery runs. We want to go to a Metro to see it though! We both have never been before. 😮
Yeah, I was also thinking that Metro and Selgros would be similar, but Costco is a different league wow But I agree that Metro is better for buying bulk items because a regular grocery run is just way more expensive than at a regular supermarket. I think it's rather businesses and shop owners who buy there; Like snacks, candy, drinks and cigarettes for a kiosk.
Costco is amazing. And I hear they treat employees fair. They also have some of the best hot dogs you can get for cheaper than anywhere else you can go. Business analysts claim that they have to lose money on the hot dogs for as cheap as they are but Costco still claims they don't.
As a Kirkland, Wa resident, the first Costco is located here and this was the original headquarters of Costco. It’s since moved to Issaquah, Wa when the the Kirkland government wouldn’t give a tax break to an expanded headquarters Costco requested.
Costco is a warehouse and is definitely worth it. They stock high quality stuff for great prices and the Costco delivery/customer service is top. You can save a lot of money by shopping there and get quality food and other items.

Quiche is French. It’s pronounced “key-shh”. One of the nice things about Costco pizzas are that they’re basically all made by machine. The Costco pizza you had 5 years ago will taste exactly the same as a Costco pizza you eat today. I noticed that you guys have the condiments and the soda machines working and open. One of the things about some smaller mom and pop restaurants is that they buy from places like Costco for bulk ingredients and get it cheaper than some of the other food wholesale suppliers. We used to get bulk cans of tomato sauce, seasonings, and toppings from Sam's / Costco for my hometown pizza place.
Yea it's unfortunate that they are limited to businesses only in Germany however grocery prices in Germany are also way cheaper when compared to Canada so I guess it's okay.
Three thumbs up for Costco! Good quality and selection, reasonable prices, fair compensation for employees. (Kirkland is a suburb outside of Seattle, birthplace of Costco.)
I can’t wait for a Costco to come to middle Georgia. We have a Sam’s Club 20 miles away but no Costco nearby. I hear folks prefer Costco over Sam’s but I’ve never been in a Costco.
The hot dog plus soda special has been $1.50 for at least 20 years, and the quality has always been very good. The same goes for the pizza, which also has not changed price.
Costco is awesome! When you have a family of seven (four of them being teenage boys) finding a bundle deal and buying in bulk is just 👌. There gas is also super cheap! In New Jersey, prices for gas are peaking near the $4 mark! Costco had a twenty minute wait because their gas was $1.20 a gallon. Fun fact from my local Costco: Before COVID, people would go there for lunch break because of all the free samples. They’re slowly coming back, but there aren’t as much. They also treat their workers nice with good pay and benefits!
Wow! Where in NJ are you buying your gas? It has gone way up (ever since they raised it for that pipeline hacking thing, then never lowered it), but still, that's way high! I just filled up today & it was $3.17/gallon at Wawa. And since I'm pretty close to the shore, it's usually more expensive here than farther inland. Unfortunately, no Costco around here. Closest one is 35 miles away. There's Sam's and BJ's. I used to have a BJ's membership, but now that my kids grew up and moved out, I don't have it anymore. Can't use all that giant-sized stuff. I liked it when we shopped there though.
There exist something similiar here in Germany. I think it was called "Ratio" where I often went as a kid cause my grandma had a card that allowed her to go there. My grandma often only went there cause of the HUGE bags of frozen vegetables for insanly cheap prices (where else do you get 5kg bags of vegetables for only 2€?) and because our favourite 200g bars of chocolate had a price of like almost nothing there. My grandma allways bought sooooo much vegetables for the entire family there
When my wife and I first started out we were dirt poor we would get a 5 dollar chicken and a 1 dollar loaf of French bread from sams/walmart and two 50 cent sodas. We'd go to the park and have sandwiches and have bread left over for French toast the next day
Detroit style pizza is some of the best pizza, but I may be biased as a Michigander, though. I like it better than the Chicago style deep dish....but as long as there is not pineapple or olives on it, you cannot go wrong with pizza.
I love Costco its my favorite place to shop. They have pretty much everything you need. When I shop I do a lot of price comprehensions like the cost versus the quantity. Just for example Costco two pack of the large peanut butter is like $8 and at a regular grocery store just for one of those is like $6 so I will buy peanut butter at Costco same with cereal, coffee, creamer and a lot of other items because of the quantity and price. Hope you enjoyed Costco
Costco is a Warehouse superstore. Originally created for independent/small business to buy their supplies in bulk. Most people/famlies buy this for either parties or get togethers (for birthdays, holidays etc.) But primarily to stock their pantries for a month at least. I hope as you ate the rotisserie chicken you also ate/swallowed your words that it's "probably not the best". If you haven't already, you should add an addendum or follow up statement regarding the rotisserie chicken.
We don't have Costco, but do have Sam's Club. We only do major shopping every three months or so. We buy in bulk, split it all up into meal-size vacuum sealer bags and we save a ton, plus always have meals covered for a long time.

You buy stuff in bulk and don’t have to shop there all the time but once or twice a month and then go to the grocery stores for everything else food wise. I don’t want to buy huge amounts of ketchup or canned goods since it’s just my husband and me but the value is great.

The $4.99 rotisserie chicken is believed to be sold at or possibly even bellow cost. Costco does that because they know that if they put it in the back of the store, people will walk through the entire store just to get to the chicken and pick up a lot of other stuff along the way.
Hey the car repair station (sorry I don't know the english word) is pretty cool. While they are fixing your car you can go shop your groceries! Really cool!
In America, things are bought in bulk because it’s cheaper. Also since we don’t have alot of time on our hands, we bought everything for weeks worth or more so we go to the store less.

Quiche is a French speciality from the Lorraine region. It's a savory cake made with bacon, cream and egg. It is very good and easy to make. As for the pronounciation, it is pronounced
keesh lorane (kiesch lorähn in German writing)
it is something completely different, but still might be described to someone _who has no idea yet_ as "something like some kind of Flammkuchen"
i literally laughed out loud. My coworker corrected me on how I pronounced stevia. So then I told him how my mom say worsh. We laughed. Its always funny how other people pronounce words.
Yeah, but I like quitch-ee better. 😁
I think he knows what it is, but the spelling in English probably throws him. Kind of like Quinoa, doesn't sound like the spelling at all.
@@nunyabusiness5075
Quitchee is still more fun.
I have never seen my local Costcos this empty, you guys are very lucky!!
The good old "$200 store". Meaning, you go in for one or two things and come out with so much more and you've spent $200. 😂
Like a playground swing set with slides and monkey bars.😂
yes almost everytime i go in there
Lol not me
Costco is well known for their excellent hot dogs, pizza, and rotisserie chicken
Ich stimme nicht zu.
That motor city pizza is AMAZING !!
Costco's pizzas are surprisingly legendary. They have standardized how they make them, so they should taste the same no matter which Costco you go to.
And they tell you if you don’t get at least the cost of the membership upgrade back at the end of the year, they’ll refund it to you!
Phil is a typical German. Always a subtext. Disparages everything auslànder.
“...and it’s a bigger pizza. You can’t eat it all by yourself.”
Joel Hansen : Hold my beer for 2 minutes.
Oh yes you can :)
My half brother can eat 2 jumbo pizzas after 5 min w chef mic each. Aka I can drink a 40 oz beer in that time. Yes has to cut it up then nuke it and eat. So aboot 30 mins
We have Two Costco’s. One is Gigantic. It’s so big they have water fountains half way through
Where’s all the Samples? Phil would go nuts.erm Phil,my man. The Roast Chicken is the BEST. You’ll wish you bought one to freeze for later.
Drink that beverage,go back and refill before you depart.
i had no idea how large the drinks were. thus i typed "convert 20 oz to l" in my browser and had to laugh when i saw that it is 0.59 liters and costs 0.59 dollars (or an "even fraction" of this when further reducing the price with the announced "free refills"; did they calculate the base price in metric at 1$/liter?). but who will drink so much in a short time, unless it is very hot and you walk through the store for hours ...
@@Anson_AKB I see what you’er saying. Well,I eat first than shop. So Ihave a beverage as I peruse 10 acres of Shopping, than refill before I exit. Put in refer when I get home. They didn’t show us the 1 gallon mayonnaise, ketchup,Mustard,Pickle relish,& endless white chopped onions for Hot Dog or Polish Sausage.
Where I live (SoCal) the last time, I went, they were still closed due to COVID. I hope they are open now or reopen soon.
My favorite chain pizza is Round Table Pizza. It’s one of those expensive pizzas. I’ll be honest: I’ll take Round Table over virtually any other pizza where I live, if given the choice. The price is inconsequential to me.
Love your videos. 👍🏼
I miss when they used to have deluxe pizzas, instead of just cheese or pepperoni.
.
Or kwee-chee?
@@V100-e5q no, "qu" = "kw" is german (Qualle, Quelle, etc), and your version sounds more like "Quietsche-Entchen" :-) ...
and in french, it is simply "k" and the last e is not spoken.
Kirkland is the name of the city where Costco first started. Kirkland Washington
We get Costco Pizzas when there's an office party. It's cheap and we all like it.
There's actually Costcos in Europe (UK, France, Spain). Also in Asia (Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, China) and finally North America (Canada, USA, Mexico).
I appreciated the tour. I've only ordered deliveries from Costco, never been inside one before. It was an education for me.
"and I understand why a lot of the people are huge" I died laughing!
You've reminded me that I've not been to my local Costco in a while.
Reminds me very much of a German 'Metro' oder 'Handelshof' which also are designed and (offically) limited sell to businesses
Yea it's unfortunate that they are limited to businesses only in Germany however grocery prices in Germany are also way cheaper when compared to Canada so I guess it's okay.
Love going to Costco for something to eat here in the UK. 😬
Three thumbs up for Costco! Good quality and selection, reasonable prices, fair compensation for employees. (Kirkland is a suburb outside of Seattle, birthplace of Costco.)
Did not know that.
I can’t wait for a Costco to come to middle Georgia. We have a Sam’s Club 20 miles away but no Costco nearby. I hear folks prefer Costco over Sam’s but I’ve never been in a Costco.
I love Costco…especially their pizza!
Kirkland is the name of the city just outside of Seattle where Costco was founded.
Good to know!
I actually work for costco. I work in a depo shipping products to stores in Washington state
The hot dog plus soda special has been $1.50 for at least 20 years, and the quality has always been very good. The same goes for the pizza, which also has not changed price.
I live for chicken bakes
Hallo Deana and Phil!!! I love watching your hauls!!!! really appreciate you🌄
Costco is awesome!
LOL--stiring machines! :)
I've never been to Costco, but my sister thinks it's the bomb.
People are surprised but the food there at Costco is really good. Also as a company they pay their workers reasonably well which is another plus.
My favorite hot food items at Costco are (in no particular order):
1) Hot dogs
2) Pepperoni pizza
3) Chicken bakes
4) Chorizos
5) Rotisserie chicken
There exist something similiar here in Germany. I think it was called "Ratio" where I often went as a kid cause my grandma had a card that allowed her to go there. My grandma often only went there cause of the HUGE bags of frozen vegetables for insanly cheap prices (where else do you get 5kg bags of vegetables for only 2€?) and because our favourite 200g bars of chocolate had a price of like almost nothing there. My grandma allways bought sooooo much vegetables for the entire family there
We have a Ratio nearby and I love it
When my wife and I first started out we were dirt poor we would get a 5 dollar chicken and a 1 dollar loaf of French bread from sams/walmart and two 50 cent sodas. We'd go to the park and have sandwiches and have bread left over for French toast the next day
''What's a Kwitschie ???'' Dude, there you had me violently laughing my ass off.
that's a rubber duck for the bathtub ... Quietsche-Entchen :-)
@@Anson_AKB Hehehe, sounds darn right.
The COSTCO gas stations here the drivers never knows how to line up properly. Its a very entertaining show to watch every time you go 😂
The first Costco was in Kirkland WA which is a town next to Redmond WA where Microsoft is on the east side of Lake Washington across from Seattle.
Costco resembles a City’s Food Bank Warehouse, and that’s where I use to work, warehouse for a Food Bank.
8:15 Detroit-style pizza is good. It's baked in a high sides pan and the cheese gets baked to the crust like a bread. Best part about the pizza.
Nothing better than a Costco hotdog to finish up a bulk buying trip
Detroit style pizza is some of the best pizza, but I may be biased as a Michigander, though. I like it better than the Chicago style deep dish....but as long as there is not pineapple or olives on it, you cannot go wrong with pizza.
Paul Detroit is Delicious but I'm also a Michigander...
I LOVE COSTCO! I go there about once a week
I love Costco! And I just want to chime in.. the Motor City Pizzas are banging. For frozen pizzas they are very good.
We don't have Costco, but do have Sam's Club. We only do major shopping every three months or so. We buy in bulk, split it all up into meal-size vacuum sealer bags and we save a ton, plus always have meals covered for a long time.
Costco is amazing! The closest Costco to me is 108 Miles away one way. It is worth the drive and I stock up for 2-3 months with the size and prices they offer. Everything I have tried with the Kirkland brand has been delicious ❤️
Ich liebe eure Videos! Schaue das total gern und freue mich immer über neuen Stoff 😄 mein Lieblingskinder ist das auf dem Weihnachtsmarkt 😆 liebe Grüße aus Hamburg 🌹
Lieblingsvideo 🤪
COSTCO!!! YES MA'AM!!! SELGROS here in Germany puts me in the mindset of COSTCO and Sam's back home. It doesn't have everything but you can do some decent shopping there.
I live in Texas so beef 🥩 🐄 is awesome!! We don’t have a Costco where I live 😒but a place similar called Sams Club…H-E-B is by far the best grocery store though 😁🤠
I live in Germany, but I have relatives in the USA.
And then I'm there for a visit I love to go to Costco. I like to look at their clothes and I also like the food.
The pizza and the hot dogs. But my favorite is the icecream with the strawberries.
I go to Costco's and Sam just for the food sometimes, you can't beat that hot dog and drink deal. And Sam's now has a really good cheeseburger...it's Better than a whole lot of fast food restaurants burgers!🙂
I am from Croatia and live in Germany. Ich muss Mr Spock zitieren :" Fasziniert". Will haben. 😂😂😂❤️❤️❤️
I bought an 86 inch tv for $999 when they first came out.
Way back when I travelled across the country quite a bit (vacations, relocations, etc) I often planned on gassing up and eating at Costcos... Saved a lot of $$$!
It is fairly common around the US for that size of pizza and larger at places that are not the typical pizza chains. 20 inch pizzas are common.
Yeah I love Costco. We call it the $200 store. It’s great for cereal, meat, toilet paper, paper towels, etc. I’ve gotten my glasses and eye exams there. It’s worth the money. You buy stuff in bulk and don’t have to shop there all the time but once or twice a month and then go to the grocery stores for everything else food wise. I don’t want to buy huge amounts of ketchup or canned goods since it’s just my husband and me but the value is great.
Letting you know I enjoyed watching this video 😊
Here in Austria, ALDI (locally named hofer) has started to build also gas stations on their car parks since 2009.
Their gas stations are branded with the name "Diskont Tanken". Now i know where they got the idea from.
13:17 - Ironically, I did just that the last time I got new tires. Drop off the car, grab a quick hotdog lunch, walk around the store, then a snack on the way back to the tire sales area.
6:40 Did you just call us FAT!!!
😂🤣😂🤣
12:56 That’s why we’re FAT huge drinks and free refills
Hahaha "stirring machines". Love, love, love the literal German translation. Ich finde das lustig. ^___^ I'm a German language learner (mit eine Donauschwaebische Oma). Thanks for the laugh!
Man braucht bestimmt einen ganzen Tag um alles zu sehen 😂
You need a hole day to see everything 😂
We used to buy the uncooked pizza. Meat lovers and then pile it high with veggies and cheese and then bake it on a pizza stone... So delicious. I hate being lactose intolerant... 😫😵
I think the hot dogs are all beef. They took away my favorite option, which was a polish dog. They took it off the menu to add something I don't like. I forget what it is, but I'm pretty sure most people don't buy it.
Best lambchops and the rotisserie chicken is great. Love getting a slice of pizza from their food counter
Same like Handelshof in Germany, but we have much muuuuuuuuuuuuch more fresh Produckts..
The $4.99 rotisserie chicken is believed to be sold at or possibly even bellow cost. Costco does that because they know that if they put it in the back of the store, people will walk through the entire store just to get to the chicken and pick up a lot of other stuff along the way.
I go to Cosco and Sam's Club. I used to work about a mile from a Cosco and a bunch of us used to go there for lunch all of the time.
RE the meat Q: Beef. Almost always, some sort of beef (various steaks, roasts, or ground beef), occasionally, chicken (dark meat - legs, wings & thighs, or sometimes, a tasty rotisserie chicken), and rarely, pork, unless we're talking about delicious bacon.
How I miss Costco here in Finland!
Costco food court menus vary depending on the state you're in. Some Costcos have test menus where you can try some items for a limited time. Our Costco had BBQ beef brisket for a summer.
