When I went to the garage to adjust the clutch like your video said, the nut that is on the screw to adjust the clutch was so loose I could turn it with my finger's. I don't know how long it's been like that, but I tried to adjust it anyway. I tightly turn the but back and took it for a ride but it still sloped so I adjusted it again but it still slips. Do you think it needs new clutch now because of the adjustment but was loose? My grandson has been riding it for the past couple weeks but he is not used to it so he didn't know the clutch was slipping, also at this same time it started running really bad like missing bad like it has a bad spark plug.
@@jimkeefover245 it's definitely possible it could need a clutch. Mine normally doesn't slip when it needs adjustment. Instead, it doesn't like shifting gears.

Great video! But I think I have issues..I have the two adjusters and my bottom one is broke I think? When I turn it it’s all wobbly and Iv turned it like 50 times and never got tight
i have a 1992 300 bayou. great shape but just the past few days i noticed that when i go to gear down, like say im in 4th and go down one to 3rd it dont dig in like when you go to lower gear. it just coast like its not in gear unless i hit the trottle, then it will dig in....whats the cause of that.
Okay so what i woudld do is replace the carb with the honda trx300 carb it works better then ever my carb hasnt skipped a beat best decision I ever made and you need to do is drill the threads on the carb where the throttle cable threads in ... Don't worry the locker nuts hold it there you will no longer have. A choke as it doesn't fit but it has a primer on the float bowl which I never need it always starts right up
Hi I have a kawasaki kef 300 1990 year. I replaced the clutch discs and the centrifugal clutch, the gears enter but the clutch slips and does not go help because I am broken
First thing... Thanks for the clear, concise video! I just followed instructions, and it didn't change. Still slips at higher RPM's. Did I miss something. In neutral when adjusting, right? I'm going to go try it again. If not, I might need a new clutch mechanism. Mine might be cooked by previous owner never adjusting it. Thanks again.
I don't believe it matters if you bare in gear or not. I would definitely try again, but if it doesn't work, you probably are needing a clutch. Good luck!
My Lakota 300 goes straight from first to reverse skipping neutral entirely. I believe it’s the same motor as this one in the vid. I also can’t shift past first and is difficult to even get it into first. Would adjusting the clutch fix this issue or could it be something else?
Thanks man im sure its gonna work i have to basicly go through everything on the 4x4 model legit just did front end bearings last night now on to the other bearing and then on to clean the carb and adjust valves shes a nice unit but tried to plow with it a few yrs ago and it got all weird so i figured i mise well park it till i could get to it and am now 3-4 yrs later just getting to these things thanks for your help your video gives me confidence
Maybe cut cable off a ft or 2 to get rid of fray and try to re spool it got a new battery it ran last yr good but never drove it bc its had the clutch issues its not to bad but it slips a bit im sure ill be able to get it figured out and back up n goin thanks for this wonderful video and i cant wait to see more of your adventures
In my kawasaki, the clutch slips under load, uphill and when I drive from a higher gear. Would this adjustment help? You could write the power of the screwdriver to the right and how much to the left. I write from Poland and do not understand 100% English.

hi Guys. if i mount the clutch cover, my gears can no longer be shifted. when i take off the clutch cover, i can shift gears very easily. why? I've already tried the clutch adjusting screw but didn't make any changes. can anyone help me

@@lukeoberg5914 hmmm, I often have to rock mine forward and backwards to get it to downshift. If that doesn't help, off top of my head I'm thinking bent shift fork.
It looks the same engine as mine just a few different things are different probably because mines a 2000 model as well must have been good engines to keep them the same

99 Kaw 4x4 book says adjust the upper one only, turn right one turn, left to resistance, then lock down.

I have the 4x2 like yours. Adjusting my screw by your demonstration just makes it worse. Do I need a new clutch?
It seems to turn “too much” in my opinion before meeting any resistance. Is my my adjuster screw upside down if that’s possible?

Starter solenoid and all gotta get push button working clean that up hoping i can some how salvage my old winch

Yes it will help. You will feel it stop as you go right and left.

Now I followed your instructions and now I have no movement on the quad. Where before I could move but it was slipping
Start over. Most likely you made a mistake somewhere. Or you were slipping for a different reason.
