If the turbo makes noise or strange sound when the engine is cold on Mazda this is the right video for you. The turbo on this Mazda was making noise whine only when the engine was cold and then it goes away. We explained what causes that turbo noise sound. New turbo was installed but the waste gate was not cleaned or inspected and it had carbon build up as a result the waste gate was causing the turbo noise. Once it warmed up the waste gate will expand and the turbo noise will go away and the car will sound great again.

Zach Kelly just don’t go into boost keep it around 3k rpm you should be good until fixed

Does the turbo have to be replaced? Or can I clean the carbon? Mine started doing this but not just when cold, I've had carbon build up issues on the intake before and had it fixed.
