My mechanic told me my headlights were unable to be cleaned, and the entire assembly would need to be replaced. You, my friends, have saved me probably $1,000 after installation and parts costs. Thank you guys!
I'm not trying to be stupid but I believe The gloss works designation is a product line within the chemical guys brand. They have a few things called glossworks. Are you referring to the Chemical Guys GAP_618_16 Glossworkz Glaze (16 oz)? Because they have since changed their labels so I wanna make sure I am buying the correct product. I love how your headlight turned out.
You can buy new headlights but they’ll go dull after a while anyway sooooo where’s the logic in that? You can rent tools but the buffer is cheap anyway, they’d probably charge you the same amount it costs to buy a used one
You need to put a uv coating on at the end, otherwise they will just fade and discolour again. The stuff you use will not do the job, also if you put UV coating on there will be no need to polish every 6 months.
Brilliant.....My Mazda 3 2012 headlights are exactly the same, at least I know of a cheaper way I can achieve It can be done and by myself... Great video guys....

GUYS GUYS GUYS! I have a 2013 Mazda two and the headlights are so bad that sometimes it doesn't look like they're on. They no longer feel smooth and glossy when I fun my finger over them. The thing is, I'm terrified of doing this; it sounds like you're just putting scratches in them and making them even more foggy. Even ruining them. Someone reassure me that this is the correct course of action for me. I'M SCAAARED!
Not at all, all you should be doing is taking away the discoloured UV coating, so should not affect the plastic. Where they are going wrong is not putting a new UV coating on at the end.

Dude I love your videos they're so helpful I'm going to try this for my headlights
88pyuyyhkbyjk6t2,
What else can I use if I don't have a polisher?

Sounds like you need a new mechanic

it depends if its on the inside
Най-добрият си брат. Живи и здрави!!!
I've always found it helpful to go in one direction with one grade of sandpaper, then the perpendicular direction with the next grade and so on.
Love the accent and the explanation on how to restore your headlights when dirty and nasty looking!
Thanks guys! I tried this and it worked!!! My headlights are like new again!

Holy crap, this worked! Thanks man!
Can the buffer be rented at Home Depot or someplace else? It's cheaper to replace the headlight covers than buy the tools.
Headlights are at least $140 each. Harbor Freight has that tool for $30-40. Compound is another $20. Sandpaper is $5.

What is machine polish? Is it just paint polish?
Golden ring was reason for subscription for me.
Is the 3M compound available at Lowe’s & Home Depot?

Can you please suggest a UV coating I can buy? Maybe something from amazon? Thanks.

Amazing Amazing video guys. Thank you this helps so much
Can you use magic eraser?
Will this procedure work on any kind of faded headlights
Yes
Kluci díky moc za všechna videa s CX 7

Great video guys....
Now put a UV protective like Sylvania clearcoat for headlights and it will last awhile.
Easier to work with hood opened and use a smaller pad so you dont hit edges and risk to burn threw cleacoat as theres much less piant on the edges.
This was a hack job. I would have pulled the headlight, but yes, at minimum open the hood.
I cleanest the lenses. But it's faded inside the lense.
VERY helpful, thank you!
Thank you for explaining!
What if I don't have the machine to buff it out?
Awesome work. Thanks
Please confirm wat chemical u used after using the 2000 sand paper. List the 3 for me.
Tap the name of the video, all the products are listed there
I hear acetone vapors do it instantly - or is that too dangerous?
Slow down guys
the problem is that we dont all have the polishing machine to do this. cant we do by hands ? spend a few hundred to buy the machine is not worth it.
you know its like a no pain no gain kinda issue 🤣
I bought mine today at Harbor Freight for $39.
You can polish by hand. You can do it without machine but machines are life so much more simple
I guess mine was on the inside of the headlight i just dont know what to do
Same here , Inside is the problem,

@@chilledboost1982 do you have the xenon ones? Because mine doesn’t have a problem
If you don't clear coat them before polish they will be faded and yellow again within a month or two.
The X-pattern during sanding has left the chat...
So much easier…. Baking soda and dawn dish soap
Have tried it , if yes how good it works

This is very common practice to polish all sorts of plastics, you wet sand and then polish to bring back original shine.
Theres always a junkyard and get replacements if they look better.
Ouch it will create a crack in the long run... the surface will become thinner because of the sand paper
Not at all, all you should be doing is taking away the discoloured UV coating, so should not affect the plastic. Where they are going wrong is not putting a new UV coating on at the end.
What the hell are you talking about, its 600/1000/2000 wet sanding extremely fine barely removes any material.
@@gerardofollano8417 He means if they do it for like 800 years it will wear through the plastic and create a crack.
If in doubt don't follow the advice and buy and fit new headlights whenever, or saving yourself the hassle.
