I had one shop fix my radiator. Then the water pump went out. But they never said anything about it when I took it back. All they said was that my engine was fried. They didn't even look. Took to abother mechanic and he realized it needed a new water pump and they flushed the system again as they blamed it on stop leak. I knew they were lying when they said that lol. Ive never allowed anyone to put that in my vehicle. Im just a female. I hardly kbow anything but I can sense when something is fishy. They also left wires lose on the back of my engine and the power on my vehicle was low. Anyways my car is running great. Thank God for some honest mechanics in this world. If anyone can put this into mechanical terms for me I want to leave this company a review so other people know to stay away.

Water pump has bearings on the belt wheel that eventually go bad over time from the constant rotation (same as wheel bearings). They get noisy cause the bearings lose their round shape from wear and can't rotate smoothly anymore. Tension wheel (the wheel that keeps your belts tight) bearings will eventually go bad too. Get real noisy.

I dred the old water pump change out. On one of my vehicles I'm on my fourth one. Granted I have 270,000 miles but still. One of them went bad in 8 months. The neck snapped. It was still shiny like a new nickle. I was pissed because it actually stranded me in the heat. Cars should only break down during the spring and fall.😂😂😂

But why replace the water pump when it’s just the wheel , can you just replace the wheel or ? I was getting a shingling sound from my 04 Honda accord ex because it was so cold I guess , & one of my pulley wheels wobbles a little.

Yeah, just changed the oil in my sister's car... similar noise along with a rattling/clanking... I didn't know an oil change could cause issues?

Age. It's old and simply worn out. Bearing failure.
