Buddy, if you ever read these messages, know one thing: I am a white middle class kid who lost his dad early on. I made something of himself, but nothing ever made a real difference in my life until I heard you play and sing. Without you, I am not sure where I would be. It sounds crass, but it's very true. You sang about getting along before getting along was a thing. Thank you. I donate to Playing for Change every year and I hope other listeners will too. Music can make a huge difference in peoples lives. It did in mine. I love you Buddy and I love Playing for Change!

The pain, the tears, the hurt, the sadness, the loneliness, the colour of our skin has caused to millions of human beings over the centuries has got to come to an end,for humans sake, let us all live together,Amen.
How great a world we'd become if they did. They lack the financial courage to transfer from a fear based platform to a joy based platform. How surprised would they be if they changed their conditioned ways and discovered there is still food on the table and abundance to be had. Discovered they had it wrong but chose to make it right. That would be a beautiful thing. Great comment my friend. Much love to you😘🙏

The man is preaching love and tolerance to all races. I love the line “Boy do this and boy do that, but I never once complained, I knew he had a good heart, but he just didn’t understand, that I needed to be treated like any other man”. Buddy put it gently, and beautifully and does not sing about anger or retribution.❤️
This has got to be one of the most inspirational songs I have heard in many years. Buddy Guy is a genius with a compassionate heart for his fellow human beings. Thank you for this video !
Hi Buddy Guy.. I love this song so much. Why are we not listening to this song instead of black lives matter we are all the same only skin deep. Everybody's skin is beautiful
No words can really describe how beautiful and meaningful this song is, the performance, how people came together to make this piece of art ! I just hope for one thing, GET THE MESSAGE !! cuz skin deep, we all look the same. 🖤🤍

A buddy of mine worked in Chicago. He took me to Buddy Guys for lunch. Lorrie Bell was there and he peformed. I got to meet Mr. Bell. I thought at the time. How cool. To be in Chicago, home of the BLUES, and meet a living legend.
His best album - Damn Right I got the Blues. He used to really tour and was fantastic. Saw him several times back in the 80s and 90s, time when Blues was making a resurgence thanks to Stevie Ray Vaughn playing with the Masters while they were still alive.
I desperately need to know how 425 people gave this song a thumbs down. If we all embraced each other's hearts instead of how we look, what a much different world this would be❤

I heard Buddy play this live on the first tour after he wrote it. So moving, emotional and thought provoking. We were all in awe. Great song letting people know how it was to grow up as a black man in a white world. Seen Buddy play many times over my life, great man. Let's all be kind to one another.
