Playing For Change (PFC) is a movement created to inspire and connect the world through music, born from the shared belief that music has the power to break down boundaries and overcome distances between people. The primary focus of PFC is to record and film musicians performing in their natural environments and combine their talents and cultural power in innovative videos called Songs Around The World. Creating these videos motivated PFC to form the Playing For Change Band-a tangible, traveling representation of its mission, featuring musicians met along their journey; and establish the Playing For Change Foundation-a separate 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to building music and art schools for children around the world. Through these efforts, Playing For Change aims to create hope and inspiration for the future of our planet.

I'm 59 years young.I was born in 1964. I remember the late 1960's and when the Rev.Dr.Martin Luther King was assassinated in 1968. I have never so many elders and Great Grandparents cry. This affected my soul for the rest of my life and days on this Earth 🌍. I realized what it means to be blessed enough to have had these people in my life, and what it means to be black and a man in America. out on the road touring with the PFC Band. Titi is a marvel, as is Clarence Bekker from the Netherlands. Many of those other musicians you'll begin to recognize through other videos too; Mermans from the Congo, Grandpa Elliott from New Orleans who was also (as was Clarence) in the very first video: Stand By Me. Others onstage are from all over the World as well. This version of this song brings me back over and over like so many others. Brilliant, beautiful and passionate.

How could anyone give this a thumb down? He sang just short of his whole heart leaping out of his mouth. He sang, not only with soul but with such passion. The female vocal was just as incredible. I loved Etta and was fortunate to see her perform many, many times all over the place over the years (I'm 58). I was deeply saddened by her death, so much so I chose not to watch her televised funeral. Her music did many things for me and took me many places. Thank you...thank you...thank you.. all of you, for doing this for her....and yes... "R.I.P. Sweet Lady."
