    Rich, you are a great teacher for someone who knows alttle about ipads. But some of us don't even know how to turn one on, where to tap screen to get what we need. We baby beginners need baby steps.

    While I have disabled ”hey Siri” due having a family member named Sarah (it was triggering when I talked with her), one of my favorite ‘assists’ from my phone is:
    [hold power button to trigger Siri]
    Say “Set reminder (day time) for (item/task to remember)
    A reminder will be created and then a notification will occur on that day at the appropriate time.
    This is especially useful when driving and phone is connected to car, as that seems to be when I think of stuff I need to take care of.

    I am fairly literate when it comes to using the iPhone and iPad, I still learn some useful things though watching your videos. I think you missed something though when it came to sending the text and photo. You do not have to press the send button when Siri asks whether you want to send them. You just say send, this is particularly useful when using CarPlay. A video on CarPlay would be good as I am sure I would learn something. Being British, I appreciate that Siri recognises the way we correctly use the King”s English rather than having to use the colonial pronunciation. 😂 The King of course would say what do I have on my diary today? Which Siri recognises. His diary was particularly full yesterday! 😂

    • @RichBowlin
      @RichBowlin  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes it was! Long live the King! You might be surprised to know the level of excitement in America for the coronation. A CarPlay video is coming soon!

    I have noticed a difference when I ask, “What is the weather forecast for (my location) today?” as opposed to “Show me the hourly weather for (my location) today.” In the first instance, she will come back with websites she found, and in the second, she’ll show me a chart of graph of the today’s weather prediction. It seems like simple, clear declarative requests like Show me… , Call…. , Open this… are for more effective in getting a direct result. I try to avoid questions that may return just a. List of websites to check.

    Siri is really very practical on our devices (iPads, iPhones) if only it understood what we want well every time. Often unfortunately it understands a whole other thing. I use it all the time for everything, to start a radio or do anything else.

      @RichBowlin  ปีที่แล้ว

  • @michaelworsham2724
    @michaelworsham2724 ปีที่แล้ว

    Rich - thanks for your video. Question: At the end you said that Siri is always getting better. Does that mean that the Siri on your own phone gets better only when you use Siri on your own phone, or, does it mean that the Siri on your phone gets better because it is connected to a sort of global/cloud Siri and gets better by other people using Siri even when you are not using Siri?

    • @RichBowlin
      @RichBowlin  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The latter. Apple has more data to work with in perfecting Siri. Siri still lags in performance to me, but is so much better than just year ago. Thanks so much for watching!
