Thanks Deb! Appreciate your support.
Thanks for this, much appreciated! I most liked the 'Favorites' in the phone app, so I could add my wife & daughters. I didn't add a bunch of widgets, but did go through the settings as you did, all making things a little easier. I noticed another fellow senior showing how to add 'Shortcuts' for the many features, of which I still have to set for easy access. Thanks for your time and effort!
Glad it was helpful!

These videos are fun because there are so many tips you are sharing and they are easy to follow. Thank you for the setting ringtone to max volume-Time and time again with my new iPhone I feel that my ringtone would be so quiet and now I can fix that issue.
Just wondering if you can show us all how to drop a pin properly or how dropping a pin can be advantageous on some occasions?
Thank you 👏🏽
Thanks so much Jav Jav! Appreciate the video suggestion! I may handle that in a Q&A.
must say your voice is very soothing, the video is very informative as well. i am very new to ios and this is very helpful even for a young person like me. wonderful video.
Thank you so much!!
Thank you Ellen for your videos! I am fairly new at this technology jargon as I got myself a new Iphone 11 just last Christmas so going on one year soon. I don't use it that much but thanks to your very helpful videos, I am now less afraid to use it. I am a "young" senior (soon to be 68 years young) and I am just waiting for the Black Friday sales to get myself an Apple watch, oh my god!!! What fun I will have!!! I really appreciate what you are doing for people like me who are a tidy bit unsecure when using those tech gadgets! You are a treasure of information! Cheers from Quebec, Canada! 🥰
You made my day Christine! Thanks so much for your kind words. You’ll love the Apple Watch ⌚️ I love that you want to try new technology! That’s what keeps us young.
@@EllensTipsForiOSLooking forward to learning more with you! 😃
@@EllensTipsForiOS Hello again Ellen, I am turning to you for advice on purchasing my first Apple watch since the Black Friday's sales are finally here in Canada. However, I am a bit disappointed as I thought that the price would go down considerably but they haven't gone down that much here in Canada! So, my choice is between the Apple watch SE (2nd generation, the latest model) and the Apple series 9. I see that the series 9 has the ECG feature which the SE doesn't have but is it really worth spending almost double the price just for this extra feature, which is the one that seems to make a big difference between the two for me. I can get the SE for CAD$230 but the Series 9 is CAD$495. There is a big difference between the two so I would really appreciate your advice on this dilemma because I am a newbie (I just got my first Iphone 11 last Boxing Day!) and I am also going to be 68 years-young soon, so I want to make sure I am making the best investment possible. So, your input would be very valuable to me! Thank you!
Hi Christine sorry I’m a little late here. If you don’t need the ECG function I would absolutely consider the SE. That’s the watch I most recommend because it’s more affordable for most people.
@@EllensTipsForiOS Thanks Ellen for your input. I was leaning toward the SE as well, so thank you very much for your input and Happy Thanksgiving weekend to you from Canada! 🥰
My name is Diane and I am blind. I use Voiceover. I have heaps of Apps, and have them all in folders, so my home screen is not so cloged up. I must say, I am one of the lucky ones as I know braille and can text at any time. It's great to be able to braille on my iPhone. As for Siri, I use it all the time.
Hi Diane, thanks so much for sharing your story!
Hi Ellen,
I always learn something I didn’t know from your videos. Thanks for all the useful tips. I don’t have ios 17. Do you suggest I upgrade to ios 17? What are the advantages? Thanks as always. Kindness, Teresa
Yes I do Teresa! It’s always good to wait until the first update or so comes out so they can squash the bugs. Thanks for watching.
Hi Ellen,
Ever since I changed my text to larger text my calendar time has been off when I add an appointment/event. My time on my home screen is correct, but I’m in EST and it now has PST in the calendar when I enter an appointment. Have you experienced this and do you know how to change it back to EST? Thanks, Teresa
Sorry I’m so late getting back to you. I didn’t see the message. Try this Teresa: open-up settings -> scroll down to Calendar settings. Once there, touch “Time Zone Override.” Set to your time zone. This will also lock the event dates and times to the phone's selected time zone.
@@EllensTipsForiOS Thanks so much Ellen I think that worked. I appreciate you getting back to me. I haven’t been able to go to A T & T to see if they could help me because I recently had back surgery with complications. Doing better it’s just going to take time. Hope you have a Wonderful Holiday Season! Thanks again. Kindness, Teresa
I’m glad that worked Teresa! I hope your recovery goes smoothly from here and that you are back to doing all the things you did before the surgery. Happy Holiday Season to you as well.!
Thanks for the tips, Ellen. Do you know how to set a preferred number of a contact with more than one phone number? Can't see any option for that on IOS 17 :-( Thanks in advance.
This is how Apple says it can be done: To make one phone number the primary when a contact has multiple numbers, you will open the Phone App and Choose the Contacts tab. Tap and hold the Call button right below the contact photo and choose the phone number you want as the primary.
This will save the primary number when you choose to call.
Hope it helps!
Ha ha my Siri keeps doing what you say to do both on my phone and my iPad. It’s almost too sensitive unless I need it.
🤣😂🤣 Sorry
Have you ever set up an iPhone with Assistive Access? I tried it on an SEv3 but it's not made for such a small screen
Sorry I haven’t.
@@EllensTipsForiOS it appears it would be good for people that want an extremely simple phone, it turns an iPhone into something that resembles a jitterbug phone
I label you as a professional , can you make a video showing a health app on iOS, connecting to an iPad (app) google sheets , installing the daily blood pressure readings into google sheets. Thank you.😊
Take a look at this app it might do everything you need. apps.apple.com/us/app/health-export-csv/id1477944755
i accidently removed my file folder on iphone..i tried the method you shown for safari and it did not show me anything for this last week.so ichecked my ipad and the same thing..going quitley crazy..think am to old
Have you tried downloading the Files app from the App Store!
Please show transcript
The transcript is there Khalid. It’s in the description. Hope that helps.
how to find settings?
Settings is an app on your iPhone and iPad. Are you looking for specific settings?? If so what are you looking for?
thanks for trying to help me. ...found settings but do not know how to go from photo page to main screen on the iPhone?@@EllensTipsForiOS
Depending on the type of iPhone.. if your iPhone uses FaceID just swipe up from the bottom of the screen in any app and it will take you to the home screen. If using an iPhone with a button on the bottom just push the button and that will return you to the Home Screen. Hope that helps.
thank you so much :)@@EllensTipsForiOS
Thanks! Ellen
You’re so welcome!
I reuse the tips by ellen for seniors
Great to hear!!
Jeg kan ikke høre,hvad der bliver sagt
I’m not sure why you’re having this issue. I’ve not had any complaints. Can you increase your volume? Thanks for reaching out. Sorry
