- If you need to glue some styrofoam together, you are going to need the right glue. Here is the testing and here are the results! The best glue for styrofoam in 2023 is either:
TiteBond II: amzn.to/43p7FLS
Elmers ProBond: amzn.to/3pJDBwM
You can also use standard Gorilla Glue and get great results!

1. Elmer's ProBond Advanced
2. Titebond II Permium Wood Glue
3. Gorilla Glue Clear (Gel glue)
Don't use superglue or Elmer's wood glue. Saved ya 7 minutes.
The Gorilla glue fell looks like the best of it was spread evenly over the entire surface. It was only a fine bead down the middle the other two spread out over a larger surface.
I really appreciated you doing this test! I have a Styrofoam project I’m doing and you answered all my questions. Thank you God bless from Colorado.
Glad it was helpful!
im makign a prop sword and this was definetly very useful now i know to jsut use wood glue!
Since the Elmer’s Probond Advanced is not available, I tried a test just like yours with a different multi-surface glue … the Titebond Quick & Thick Multi-Surface Glue. I pitted it against a wood glue I keep around … Titebond III Ultimate Wood Glue (which is one step up from the Titebond II Premium that you tested.
Both glues worked perfectly on the styrofoam. When I tried to separate they both tore the styrofoam apart with no separation at the glue joint.
I did apply just enough glue to cover the entire test strip bottom when the pieces were pressed together. But the Titebond Quick & Thick was thicker, though, so the test piece did not slip around as much when applying pressure.
Great info thank you!
I am in the process of building an outer space cosmic cat playroom - coffee movie room . So far I have a planetary wall that glows in the dark and gives the feeling of moving thru space but now am building the control panel wall from styrofoam.. This video answered my questions. I'm glad I looked it up!
Good luck with the build!
Excellent, thanks! Glad to know it just that easy. Would be interesting to see the three titebonds sidebyside and adding some clamping force.
Thank you very, very, very much for this presentation. You're saving people time and money.
Thank you for the video it was just what I needed 💪🏽
Excellent Demonstration... good camera work too ~---- Thanks !
Thanks!
Mannn I wish I saw this before I tried Gorilla Spray Adhesive and E6000. Both totally ate away the styrofoam. 🤦🏾♀️ Thanks for this!!
Thank you for making this! Helped tremendously in a bind.
Testing is at 2:35
4:50
We almost had to go running all over town to find glue for foam. You saved the day! I had tite bond on hand and now she’s got that crap everywhere! Lol
Thank you so much for doing this video!! Very very helpful!! 💕👍👏
GREAT VIDEO!!!!
I think adhesion is an easy job for these materials. Maybe the others perform better in 10 years? Or maybe it’s for control of the gap thickness between foam and wall? What assets should we worry about?
Top tier content as always, thank you for sharing!! I would be curious to see adhesive comparisons with the volume of adhesive controlled.
Yea I need to get some micro pipettes or something. The more I test these glues the more complex things are getting
Thanks This is Great
I have Titebond III, wondering how it will fare?
Should be the same as titebond 2, just more waterproof
@@HelpAtMyHome Thanks for the reply, i just tried it. I will give it to tomorrow, hopefully a good result
thanks, simple vid was helpful.
My only criticism of your test is you put a lot more glue on the 1st 2 (elmers II and elmerd pro bond) and way less on the GG clear. Considering the small size of that gg clear bead it may have been the best. Also it would ve n8ce to see the results after 24 hours rather than 4 days. Otherwise great video. I'm impressed with that probond and elmers titebond II.
Thanks! Glue distribution and amount is definitely an issue for me in the testing. I’m still thinking how to best handle this!
Good point; although with that tiny little bottle, I bet the GG is super expensive.
Well selected amdes😢signed and carried out. Do you have a link to the Gorilla Guru?
Generally covered to which glue type to use but would have been a better test if you'd spread the glue over the piece and all were the same size, plus I'd have liked to see titebond 3 in there too as it's waterproof
Thanks for the feedback!
Does it need good air flow to dry/cure. I need to glue a finished filon(thin fiberglass) skin to 1 1/2" styrofoam. There will be minimal exposure to the air. Some, but not in the open like your samples. Thanks for posting
My understanding is that often the airflow is more for safe ventilation than curing. I think the open structure of the styrofoam means it can cure in a relatively closed space.
Im trying to do a project and I have to attach EVA foam sheets to styrofoam but I don't know what to use. Will gorilla glue work to stick them together?
Great demonstration ❤
How about the difference in their price tags? 🤝
I have a question, would I be able to use that to glue rope onto the styrofoam?
Rope is hard because it will absorb the glue. You might need something thicker like a hot glue gun for that.
@@HelpAtMyHome Thanks! I will try that
What about hot glue
As mentioned earlier, can't find it anywhere! I am going to try a multi-surface glue from Titebond available at the home stores.
Ugh yes, still not sure what happened with this glue.
Your video made the Elmer's ProBond Advanced sell out. Can't find it anywhere. Wonder if they took it off the shelves for safety reasons or it is a discontinued item? Too bad, as I needed to glue some styrofoam and that stuff did great.
Oh wow that’s incredibly annoying! I can’t find it either
What about your standard Elmer’s school glue?
Idk but in my experience it’s even thinner than wood glue. That is works best for paper and construction paper.
Thx I needed this as my fursuit head has styrofoam ears :)
thats cute good luck! what animal is ur fursona :3
Has anyone done this experiment but with rubber on styrofoam?
OK, I'm back to report that White Gorilla Glue is amazing for styrofoam to rubber!
Where to buy that gorilla glue sir
I think amazon should have it
Videos like these should include the generic names of ingredients of the product so one can use nearest alternatives in markets where these brands are not available.
Great suggestion!
Mr lazy you expect people to do all the work for you.
I disagree. Too many other videos give you broad generalizations and then they don’t help.
Hot glue pistol the best for me
4 or 5 days curing time? Cement will adhere in that tine frame. No one wl wait 4 to 5 days. Use a much shorter time period
That’s a fair point!
No actual styrene glue like Hold The Foam, UHU Por, Weldbond, PL300???
No, I didn’t get into anything specialized or single purpose. Maybe for the next video!
Wow... I've learnt nothing there... So NO technical data at all.. JUST PULL IT..!!..
What could be better than real-life testing?
