  • In this video, I showed you how to fix your broken items using glue and styrofoam, known as super glue or ca glue. Using styrofoam and super glue together is effective and durable method like repairing using baking soda and super glue.

When my brother and I were kids we found out about super glue and styrofoam when we got cheap foam gliders. Inevitably when they'd break from crashing so I'd brought super glue and different tape for repairs. One crash a wing broke and I'd used super glue and it melted right thru to my surprise! We both conferred and said that plane was done and moved on to crashing other planes until inoperable condition. To my surprise when I picked up the super glued plane the wing didn't fall off as expected it was super bonded! The plane flew great! You'd be amazed at how well some of these planes flew after multiple repairs.

Applying Super Glue (cyanoacrylate) to cotton or wool results in a rapid chemical reaction that releases enough heat to cause minor burns, so typically this should be avoided. However, if enough cyanoacrylate is added to the cotton or wool, the fabric will catch on fire, making this a great trick to keep in mind in survival situations.
Generally, cotton and wool are readily available and cyanoacrylate is always a good thing to have on hand in first aid kits, due to its wound sealing ability. So if you ever find yourself lost in the woods with nothing but a first aid kit and no other easy means to start a fire, this little trick might help you out.

Additionally, if using baking powder & CA glue, adding a tiny amount of mica powder allows the in-fill to be died a more fitting colour.
Plus, if, like me, you only use small amounts of CA glue at any one time, it is MUCH less expensive to buy a bag of 20 or 40 or so 2g or 3g tubes of false nail glue, the same as they use in nail salons. It’s the same stuff, CA / cyanoacrylate glue, just way cheaper per tube. And you get loads of tubes to keep you going, instead of just a few tubes that you get when they call it ‘superglue’.

What are the differences/benefits between styrofoam vs. baking soda?

    • @bigglyguy8429

It's a solid that you can easily shape and store. BS is a messy powder that goes everywhere. I especially like how SF can bridge gaps to fill a hole, which you can't do with a powder

Really good to know! 1 question.....are the fumes toxic? If so, should you wear a mask? I have so many broken things that I'll be able to fix now! THANK YOU!!!!! I lied...another question, can you sand it and paint on it w/o breaking the bond? Looking foreard to your response..👍👍🧡🧡🙃🙃🌟🌟✌

If you don’t lean tooo close, and you’re working with medium quantity it isn’t really toxic. Make sure you don’t voluntarily inhale and you avoid the fumes rising upwards because in the long run it is toxic. N95 masks for anyone using regularly in a less ventilated workspace.
