When my brother and I were kids we found out about super glue and styrofoam when we got cheap foam gliders. Inevitably when they'd break from crashing so I'd brought super glue and different tape for repairs. One crash a wing broke and I'd used super glue and it melted right thru to my surprise! We both conferred and said that plane was done and moved on to crashing other planes until inoperable condition. To my surprise when I picked up the super glued plane the wing didn't fall off as expected it was super bonded! The plane flew great! You'd be amazed at how well some of these planes flew after multiple repairs.

Applying Super Glue (cyanoacrylate) to cotton or wool results in a rapid chemical reaction that releases enough heat to cause minor burns, so typically this should be avoided. However, if enough cyanoacrylate is added to the cotton or wool, the fabric will catch on fire, making this a great trick to keep in mind in survival situations.
Generally, cotton and wool are readily available and cyanoacrylate is always a good thing to have on hand in first aid kits, due to its wound sealing ability. So if you ever find yourself lost in the woods with nothing but a first aid kit and no other easy means to start a fire, this little trick might help you out.

One SHOULD mention doing that, or using the superglue methods above produce some highly toxic fumes, and should be done in a very well ventilated area, and preferably you should be using a filter mask.

Additionally, if using baking powder & CA glue, adding a tiny amount of mica powder allows the in-fill to be died a more fitting colour.
Plus, if, like me, you only use small amounts of CA glue at any one time, it is MUCH less expensive to buy a bag of 20 or 40 or so 2g or 3g tubes of false nail glue, the same as they use in nail salons. It’s the same stuff, CA / cyanoacrylate glue, just way cheaper per tube. And you get loads of tubes to keep you going, instead of just a few tubes that you get when they call it ‘superglue’.

I only know super glue can melt styrofoam due to accidental styrofoam modelling fix but I couldn't think of any other useful application from this combo untill this video. Thanks for sharing

I'm sure this guy loves 'tapping' stuff with a hammer, spanner etc. more than fixing stuff.

I noticed at the end that the cotton wool sounds dense and lower than the others, while the baking soda sounded high-pitched and seemed more brittle.
Can any experienced person advise on this?
    Thanks and great video op!

That was my question ... which is strongest. I think graphite powder is stronger than baking soda.
