P.S. i rewatched the FTX super Forza GT video. You kept comparing it to the Arrma. How about a showdown? You got the Arrma, Traxxas XV01, the Suprer Forza and the ZD Racing EX07. How about getting 3 of your buddies and taken them out for some challenges to finally determine which is best.

I was convinced. I bought immediately. I ordered the RTR carbon and the roller carbon. If they put into it enough to match the hype, it’s definitely worth it. I got into speed runs with a WL124019, with all the crashes, upgrades and parts I definitely spent more than $299 to get 90+ miles an hour. I’m still working on 100, it’s been capable for awhile, I just have to get better at driving and have enough time on the right road.
Finally a reasonably scale rc 917! some nice little details on this, could have done with deeper dish wheels on the back but the rear chassis treatment is pretty good. Had to go for one plus clear body and headlight kit! Cheers for the heads up Tomley 👍

My metal roller was delivered today ,with a gold spur gear in a presentation box with a chain so you can wear it as a necklace 😂 , I'm pretty impressed with the build for the price

The RLAARLO AK-917 caught my attention a few weeks ago…I think it was from JAY TEE RC. Started emailing RLAALO almost everyday ever since. I got fed up & my last email was last Friday, but got a reply about pre-ordering. Pre-order started today at noon…ordered the carbon fiber roller, blue body & a bunch of alloy upgrades. I am very excited about it.

I think Rlaarlo have been quite clever here, sell something that is really fast for cheap, the masses will buy & most will not have experience of something so fast & Rlaarlo will make the money back on spares after they’ve all been destroyed due to high speed impacts.

Hi Phil it says when using 4s lipo and upgraded MOT. Obviously not the stock MOT. I see it comes with a 120 amp ESC . Like I said the roller is definitely the best option imo. looking forward to seeing what they can do 🇬🇧🤩✌🏼👍🏼

I ordered the full carbon brushless combo. I'm planning on using the electronics in my wltoys, and putting in a hobbywing max 8 system. It's a win win. 😃

I can assure you that max8 will not fit. Car looks small, not true 1/10 scale
Only time will tell. Will have to see what I can work out once it gets here. But I'm eyeing where the spare tire is in the rear. May be able to 3d print a mount for it. Just have to wait and see.

Good for them, rocking it out with some new stuff that seems decently made. I pre ordered the RTR carbon gulf livery. Got the 1:12 buggy and was pretty impressed with it. Meanwhile Traxxas is still trying to sell their absurdly aged X01 for $750 😂
That car should definitely be 499 or less by now. Almost don’t even see it in hobby stores or any new videos of it online
@@Stepside906 X01 is more of a 1/8 to 1/7 though..and it should have been a lot faster than it was..it fell short. My built 4tec (the first one) was as fast as a stock X01 and it was only running 4s. "The fastest name in rc" has given up the title belt for "the cheapest made in rc"
Even redcat is proving to be more for their customers than traxxas. Just look at how they responded to the flaw in the machete: stop shipment, fix the design, ship new designed parts to existing customers and start shipping machetes again.

I've been following this rlaalo for a while and I'd love one? But nowhere local have a good enough surface to use an intended so I'm not sure if I'm going to try and be an early buyer. But will say the last release met its specs so I think this will too.

I bought the carbon RTR. I think it will be worth it. If it goes as fast as a Felony then it is worth the money I guess. Maybe I just don't want to get my hopes too high!

Thanks Tomley, I decided to order one a roller.
I've been following it closely since it was announced. I'm skeptical of the claims but only time will tell. It is a 1/10 so you shouldn't need more than 3s to get some crazy speeds but that short wheelbase may leave something to be desired in the stability department. The full price of $499 is excessive for a first time 1/10 no matter how you slice it. I've got the carbon brushless on the way and will run it on 3s against "like competitors" to see what's what.

Ahh they've took creative licence with a porch 917😊. This is what I like to see. Id mod it a bit and give it a paint job to look like the le mans race car. But thats just me. Ohh cracking 👏. Wow that is good bang for buck. ALL DAY LONG. It will kick @ss and look cool doing so😊.

Looks like you need to adjust the camber on the rear of your race buggy there mate its way out from side to side
I couldn't go past the alloy roller for that price for what we think we're getting, although it's still over $200 Australian witch is not really cheap😅

I’m a newb. Is the carbon fiber as tough as the metal? What is the benefit?
Why does the carbon fibre chassis RTR come with 3660/3900kv and the alloy chassis model has 3650/4300 kv? Is that 10 mm really gonna let you gear up that much more?
I brought the ax12,or what ever it was called. Every screw rounded off and the I had to basically rip the motor mount off just to change the pinion gear.not worth the money or waiting time.not a fan.

On their website they claim it can reach those speeds when using a 3s lipo and upgraded motor etc. So why doesn't every company claim their rc can go 100 mph when modified.

Lots of different info when you look at it. Although Rlaarlo have said on their FB page that the Top model with included gearing will do 100mph + on 3s
USD to Canada sucks now but for the $$ sub $200 for a RTR metal version? Can't beat that. I'm tempted to buy one and put some of my speed knowledge to the r/c test lol.....

Still not convinced by rlaarlo. I bought the amx12, The motor gets extremely hot even on very light use, the esc won’t stay stuck down due to the motor leads being too short and stiff and the battery tray (even after they were meant to revise the positioning since many TH-camr’s gave their feedback) is too close to the driveshaft. And after all that, why couldn’t they make the car case big enough to fit the controller aswell as the car!! Just the small quality control details are letting them down
Really surprised how lil people are talking about it (other big TH-camrs )
They are too busy keeping Traxxas & Horizon hobby happy 😅

The Granite won't have it's stock driveshafts... although my Big Rock has been fine.. as was my Senton

Don't know if I'm among the first 200, or 201-500 (I'll probably have to wait for delivery to find out)...but, I did get an orange/blue CF brushless version ordered. Hope to get video done within a few days after delivery.
They posted the model numbers that are in the top 500. Look at your order it says which model you have. RL- etc
@@MikeGuy87 All I will say is, I am also getting the film barrier 'bonus'...so, that confirms my order was in the first 500, and I now know which of the "other" I need to order. As for which "pre-order bonus" I get, that will be revealed when I post my video (sometime next month). In ordering the "other", along with a few spare parts, I will probably order a clear body.

@@MikeGuy87 I'm guessing/assuming it hasn't. In Rlaarlo's original listing, and as mentioned in Tomley's video, they stated what the original 'bonus' items were. They also mentioned (I can't remember if it was on their website, or their FB page) that, if they reached a certain number of pre-orders within a specified period of time, they would add an additional 'bonus' item to pre-orders 1-500. If you check that list of the first 500 orders, you see both groupings have added a "film barrier for chassis". That tells me they reached that "certain number of pre-orders within a specified period of time"...and, as my order number is within that list, that's how I know.
On a side note, Tomley, as well as a few others, did an outstanding job in "breaking the news" about the original announcement, as well as covering the pre-order going live...and, for that, a huge shout-out to all of them...especially to Tomley & JayTee. If it hadn't been for the two of them, I probably wouldn't have known about the AK-917 until it was too late. However, one thing I don't recall any of them covering (at least, to the best of my recollection...and, if I'm remembering incorrectly, to whomever it might be, please, accept my apologies) are the specific differences between each variation. A few of the differences were covered, but not all of them, which is why I posted a video covering, specifically (and nothing beyond), the differences.
Well I watched this video a few days after posted snd decided to order, 2 months later and 0 email response from them other then a tracking label was created April 29th still no update. I feel like I got screwed out of $309 for the rtr carbon fiber but yet they keep giving facebook updates about the contest and there's nothing but pissed off customers without what they ordered in the comments. If you have any connections with them would you let us in on what's going on. Thanks
so the aluminum on has a one piece drive shaft and the carbon has a split driveshaft with a support midway down. wouldn't you want the supported shaft?
I guess it's due to the much higher RPM's, and maybe a but more flex in the carbon chassis
