One thing I learned waking up at 6am for a month was that it actually decreased my productivity. I'm most alert and creative late at night, so turning off my screens and forcing myself to go to bed only to spend two hours the next morning staring at a blank screen instead of writing wasn't actually an improvement.
I’ve been sick for over 2 months and I have the opposite problem. I’ve been sleeping in and being my least productive. I get more done in the mornings. I also have night classes and it’s killing me but it’s also the only time I could get them with work.
Personally, I find that habits only work if I am working towards a bigger project - i want to be able to lift the wheelbarrow and help my partner in the garden, to spend time outside, so i'm going to start going to the gym to get stronger --- and then habit - got to gym 2x a week. "i want to go to the gym" doesnt have a motivating factor to it. "I want to go to the gym to get stronger so i can help and feel useful and enjoy spending time in my garden" is a lot more compelling to get me to go :)
Thank you Rachel for clarifying planning goals. Love that you addressed diff btn Habit & Project and deadlines to analyze the gathering of tracked data. Really helpful!
I do something similar for the gym and keep a sports bra in my purse to change into when i get there if I feel up to working out. Most of the time I do in fact work out! Or just have a nice walk to the gym and go home
Thank you so much for your insightful videos that connect ideas in interesting ways. There are thousands of videos about habits and about projects, but very few about connecting the two into a larger picture. Thank you so much for all of your videos. I love how you explain things and they really resonate with me.
I am 6 minutes into the video and I saw two ads already. I really like your content but there's just so much app advertisement one can digest in such a short time.

Mini habits make my days manageable.

I really appreciate how you break down ideas! 😊 Elaborating on how habits can contain projects, and visa versa, was helpful. 👍
Thank you!!! Just what I was looking for! I was having a hard time differentiating the two. ❤️

Awesome Rachelle, By the way, I was wondering if I could help you with engaging video edits?
You had me until you said you study astrology. Smh.
