  • What is "trigender?" In this episode, I tried to find out. I wouldn't necessarily say I succeeded but then again, academia doesn't even know.

    I am old enough to remember growing up in a time where me and my peers hated labels. As teens, we would shake our fists at society (metaphorically) and yell "we don't need no labels."

    When I was 10 I took a gay quiz on youtube and it said I was bisexual. I started to identify as bisexual in 2020. I only took the test because I had hormones running throughout my body and was slightly sexually attracted to women. After awhile I started to go up and down the spectrum. I was bisexual, then a lesbian, then I was pansexual, then I was into more masculine women than feminine, etc. Then I also got into gender. I was a demi-girl, non-binary, bigender, transgender, etc. Up until this summer I was gay for 3 years. After having a relationship with a guy I finally realized I am a straight women. I love being a women and I don't know why I never did like it. At one point I was asexual and didn't want children. Now I am very excited to have children when I'm older. This all happened to me because I was a 10 year old girl going through puberty that got ahold of the wrong side of TikTok/the internet and wanted to be labeled and fit in.

    • @MsEgwene
      @MsEgwene 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +40

      I grew up in a time where one wasn't confronted with all these labels and possibilities at all, and several of my friends had a similar journey exploring their identity, like you did. They just didn't even have names for any of it (besides "gay/lesbian"). It was very hard on them too.
      Now, I think people (young people in particular) could benefit greatly if we stop focusing on gender altogether, but it's normal for young folks to go through phases of self-discovery, which often isn't fun.

      Kids want to feel special and different but in safe/protected ways. What better way than through these protected groups? When I was young kids would've been FAAAR too afraid of ridicule to claim transgender unless they were convinced they really were. Now it seems like "eh I'll try it and if I don't like it I'll quit" or "this seems like a good way to get some desired attention/control".

She's always been a tomboy and now is dressing like a man, dying her hair all different colours and being as loud as she can whenever she speaks (I lived in a small city and saw her often from a distance). Hi. Do u have numbers of how many children are getting gender confirming surgeries? That's important as it may not be that much. Idk if u know who matt walsh is, but he is the "what is a woman" guy. Basicly all of these claims that the country is becoming trans and that millions of kids are getting surgeries is a lie. There really isnt that many kids getting surgeries. Matt went to a congressional meeting and they tore him apart for lack of evidence. These right wing commentators are just as bad as the woke ones. They all complain about fake things just to have something to talk about.

It does confuse my husband, who has a mildly feminine energy most of the time, having grown up with a strong sister and mother and a gentle, mathematician father. Because a personality doesn't get you attention, being trans does. The minute any of these guys or girls declare an identity, they're flooded with attention and affirmation and praise. Nobody paid attention to Dylan prior to his days of girlhood and no one paid attention to that eccentric/quirky girl before her trigender thing. The current environment rewards this stuff and worse, it condemns being "normal." Straight and gay are normal so we get these stacked identities that are more nonsensical than the next.

People think they can just go off hormone blockers... back in the days if kids aren't going through puberty between certain ages, parents take them to doctors to get checked out. taking hormones have huge permanent consequences on our bodies. but when I try to talk about it, I get shut down. what are we doing to the kids?? Ritchie especially is able to articulate how awful it is to realize too late that he's just a gay man, and that he'll never have a fulfilling homosexual relationship with another man because of the surgery. They're both doing the best they can, but it's so heartbreaking.

      If you were born 1000 years ago, you’d already have 4 kids, syphallis, and you’d probably die by the age of 30 lol

    My guess is that she cross-referenced every damn tag/hashtag for these 500 genders to see which one had the least amount of people (aka competition) so she could run with that to stand out, feel "oh so special" and become "the voice" for the one she picked.

      You know what this reminds me of? The "business card" scene in American Psycho where Bateman is losing his mind in v/o staring at the other guy's business card. The font, the texture, the thickness! Instead of yuppie business cards, these wokies have their pronouns!

    After I left high school over 10 years ago, I thought I wouldn't have to hear about trying to fit in and being popular.
    Well, let's just say I'm not pleased that it's now in everyday life and society.
    Even in college I had to deal with girls who were gossipy and a baby mama and yet if I got a question wrong they were quick to make fun of me. Despite I was probably the smartest in the class.
    For me I what got me through that first semester was my mantra was "I'm here to get an education, I'm not here to make friends." Sure, I wanted to make friends with emotionally mature students, but since I didn't, I was glad I kept to myself, like I did in high school. I got along with mostly everyone except for some girls who wanted to call me names that weren't true about me.

    im so glad to hear that your grew up as a tomboy, i know about these woke shit happening around me and i was confident in my gender that i am undoubtebly a straight woman. i heard my friends once say that i have a more masculine energy than feminine energy and it made me feel bad for real, i never confused my identity cuz lets be fr that shit dont exist. seeing you say the same thing made me feel at more ease. a woman can be masculine and feminine the situation she is in brings out the energy in her.

    I just had to come to terms with the fact that I got sucked into all this kind of stuff and was a trans man for almost 7 years. I realized I just had self esteem issues and was trying to cope from past trauma. I've been presenting as female now and plan to detransition once I move to a different area to live with my dad.
