what Phillip Sayce and Jeff Healey, rest his soul, have in common is a rare skill among bluesmen - the ability to good songs that stand up by themselves.
@D D and who are you to question sunmoonfire67? and his beliefs.... you will find out when we all die... in the mean time eat it but you don't have to....but seems you hate religion and God
To me Healey has the better voice. But Sayce has the better guitar chops. Although I will say and doubt the way Healy plays guitar in general is incredible and unique only to him. I could be wrong a master dobro player may prove me wrong but I don't know of any dobro players playing like that so I'd say Healy is the master of that technique at least.
Back then in 2000.. I saw him together with my heavy metal band... right just after a concert we had performed in the same area.... We went to the Jeff Healey concert and to have more Beers...then this guy was introduced by Jeff... and we all laughed and commenting that he looked like the Hanson Brothers(which he did).... Our laugh became to shame.. when he started to sing and play... We knew after 20 sec. that he had something even I thought that he tried too hard like showing of... but he was and still is very talented. Just recently found out that Philip Sayce was the Hanson Brother we saw back in 2000. he he
For sure this is his best performance pure raw expression.... he still has the energy but does not improvise and focus his creativity like this on the videos I have seen....such as SRV would do every concert or Hendrix... but definitely here it is a classic for him to stay in history.. for sure
Sayce is a tremendous talent....RIP the great Jeff Healy.....On a side note, who is this "Jessi Perkins", and where does all of this Canada bashing come from?? We also had troops in "Irac"......
big! but does anyone of you can help me on the performance of the jef healy band at the Stockhol m jazzfestival in the same year?- 2000!! we wers there too.
Jeff Healey developed a "Retinoblastoma" as a small child and has been blind ever since. Unfortunately, he died much too early of the consequences of this illness. If you have never heard of him, I highly recommend "Jeff Healey Band & Phillip Sayce - My Guitar Gently Weeps". In summary, one of the greatest and most puristic guitarists who ever lived.
Philip wayyy overdoes it. Tries just a (LOT) bit too hard. And the Stevie Wonder/Prince vocal style doesn't match at all. Jeff is more raw, isn't scared of making a mistake here and again, and has so much more soul. RIP.
In your dreams little man. You make me laugh but in fact I feel sorry for you. Canada is the other side of the fence in America, the slums of a great nation. Hey, there has to be a place for those people to live too and it is a beautiful place for all of those hosers...Jessi
@@15nicinho No doubt ......he learned to use space more and is not balls out. Can still if he wants to though. His use of dynamics now is absolutely killer. He's one of the best players today in my opinion.
Holy shit Philip Sayce is awesome!!
I was lucky enough to see him in Toronto at the Silver Dollar a few years bak
Indeed
knowing there are people like Philip Sayce in the world makes life worth living again
not really not that many anymore reason not too may Hendrix Steve.... this is his best performance ever I have seen so far

@@blue._princeeso jealous!!!
Holy christ....how did i not hear of Philip Sayce until this year....and i live in Canada no less. what a player
not sure if he plays like this anymore....; that is, the pure raw creativity... he still has the chops
Yea sure your probably a cousin lol 😂
Can't stop watching this... Awesome! Killer tune!
The real deal. Love Phillip never seen anything like him. Seen him 6 times and it’s been the greatest show. And also a great humble person.
Phil is the brightest star, absorbing the past and making it relevant today, Peace ....
Maybe the 100th time I’ve watched this. Wow.
Same
Gem of a performance. Jeff played something nobody will or ever can copy. God Speed JH. We miss you.

This guy should be a super star
When SRV say's.. JH is the best and his unorthodox style of playing added new vocabulary to guitar..dig!!
No comparison to SRV
@@atta1798right lol 😂

Jazz Festival 2000!!! Hahahaha.......These folk in the audience got blown out here!!! Lawn chairs exploded!!!.......hahahahahahahhahaha
I'm a little late to the party but OMG that boy can play. But Healey, he is in a class by himself.
I don’t know...I think they had the same teacher.
Healey was a monster guitar player....but phillip today is heads above Healey in his prime mark that down in the books....not even close.
@@dezionlion brilliant haha

Absolutely insane guitar player, incredible 🙏🏼💜🇨🇦
I was there and thought this guy is even better than Jeff Healey who was excellent. Steve Lukather was playing in same concert with Edgar Winter.
Emléxem ez késő este adta a tv,de még akkor sem tudtam nyugodtan ülni a tv előtt.
Philip Sayce egy isten! :)
RIP Jeff :(
though Philip Sayce is awesome but jeff...man i only feel a lot of respect .
Philip Sayce is a Beast guitar man and Jeff Healey To >>>> RIP Jeff Healy
Philip is pretty good! Jeff definitely in a class of his own! Really like them both
that was definitely class, Healy is a Master in his own n complemented beautifully w/Philip
philip was soo pure here... the tone and phrasing
simply amazing.
God do I miss Jeff Healey!!
Phillip Sayce is the best by far. The most perfect and wildest mix between Hendrix and SRV
Sayce is a tremendous talent....RIP the great Jeff Healy.....On a side note, who is this "Jessi Perkins", and where does all of this Canada bashing come from?? We also had troops in "Irac"......
He would have been a big star in the seventies . Like Pat Travers or Johnny Winters
Damn, he is good..
