    Overall great video. Just a few tips:
    5:31 - Actually the SiC product comes pressurized, so you definitely do _not_ want to shake it before opening. It even states on step 1 of instructions- Do not shake. I’ve done 4 cars with Uk3.0+SiC, and each time I’ve opened SiC, the pressure pops and sprays on my hand.. so wear nitrile gloves always.
    Once pressure is released, you can then close it back up and shake.. but gently…
    7:28 - If you leave high spot for too long, you can also use CarPro Essence to remove easily without needing to re-polish. After high spot removed, you can redo. I _highly_ recommend having a bottle of Essence nearby bc no matter how thorough you think you are, you never know when you may miss a tiny high spot somewhere.

      That is correct my mistake when I was recording I said shake bottle...thats why I always say to read instructions as well before using 👍

      I would say using essense is polish I know its a primer polish but you still removing the coating by abrasion thats the only way to get rid of a high spot thats cured for some time

      @@autoexquisitedetail7706 - Yeah when most people talk about polish, they think of mechanical polishes, whereas Essence may be a “polish” but does not require any mechanical polishing. I lightly dab and rub off the high spot with a microfiber towel, so seems to act more like a chemical removal (like Eraser or Spotless) vs mechanical.

      Its cause it has similar carriers in the polish of that a ceramic coating i believe thats why it helps remove it..however the more generic thing and what most people have is polish thats why I mention that as a way of removing it

      @@autoexquisitedetail7706 Lastly, forgot to mention, but if you’re doing the UK3.0+SiC combo on _black_ cars, I found it much easier to apply SiC after 4+ hours wait time. My first attempt using SiC after waiting about 1 hour after UK3.0, left visible haze streaks immediately after 4 minute flash time wipe off. Had a really hard time to take off. Not sure if I applied too much product or just interaction between UK and SiC too soon, or both.

    Great review!!! I am doing a single layer CQuartz UK 3.0 (leftover from a previous detail) and will top it with 2 coats of SiC. Apparently, this combination will net the highest level of gloss and provides a durability boost... On my previous car, I had 2 coats of 3.0 with 2 coats of Gliss and even though it looked great, Gliss durability is terrible (problem is getting rid of gliss ontop of your 3.0 base is harder than you might think). Perhaps not a concern if you live in South Africa, but if you live where there is a lot of snow with tons of salt on the road, something to keep in mind.

      Thank you 👍...yeah gliss does struggle in durability compared to this. I've heard good things when layering uk 3.0 with sic. Definitely the most durable 👌 my latest video is on gliss and I speak about my thoughts compared to sic feel free to check it out

    I think it pays off to have shorter lifespan but a gloss and slickness already implemented in the first run ...

    Dish wash soap works very well when planning to coat a car instead of the car wash shampoo.

    • @autoexquisitedetail7706
      @autoexquisitedetail7706  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I used to use this a long time ago and it does work i just don't recommend it cause during the wash stage if that drys on the paint it can leave some staining or spots. Plus it's time consuming washing and rinsing panel at a time considering the decon stage removes the old protection most of the time.

    • @nasdoc1
      @nasdoc1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@autoexquisitedetail7706 Agreed that rinsing it off is time consuming and it's harsh for the car if used regularly.

      The problem with using dish soap is you don’t get the lubrication that you need from a car soap so it can increase the chance of scratching. What works for me is adding some dish soap to my car soap to the prep process so you get the wax stripping from the dish soap and the lubrication from the car soap.

    Hi any idea what the stickers in the box are for ? it lists them in the contents but doesn't say what they are for .

    • @autoexquisitedetail7706
      @autoexquisitedetail7706  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's a sticker to put on the inside window of the vehicle once it has been coated. When you peel it, it says coated by cquarts carpro just to let anyone know its coated.

    Hi, if sic is to be used as top coat, how much wait time after 2nd layer of cquk 3.0 before applying 1 layer of sic?

    • @autoexquisitedetail7706
      @autoexquisitedetail7706  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So following the same instructions as gliss you'll need to wait at least 4hrs between layering differnt products so same goes for sic👍

    How long after application would you suggest I drive the vehicle

    • @autoexquisitedetail7706
      @autoexquisitedetail7706  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Minimum 4hrs in the dry and 24hrs if its raining but if you can help it I always let it cure at least 24hrs regardless.

    Hi thanks for this information , now i coated my car today after buffing and claying the whole car now i'm in Queensland Australia and the temp was around 25 -27 c but humidity felt a bit high and i found the product flash time was only 3 min as any longer and it became quite grabby but i'm not getting the level of slickness everyone is talking about ,does this mean i'm rubbing it off too soon ? and i ran out of time to do the second coat can i do it the next day ?

    • @autoexquisitedetail7706
      @autoexquisitedetail7706  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is cutting it close to the minimum leveling time but If 3 mins is the time you need to buff it off without being grabby then that should be fine but the product will need at least 24hrs to cure to feel somewhat slick and 7 days before its final finish and slickness is achieved. As for the second coat yes if you missed the 1 hour mark you can apply it the next day

    Does any car enthusiast have any idea how is 3M (39901) ceramic coating? It's a very reputable company but I haven't seen any video on it or any article.

    • @Spirited282
      @Spirited282 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      3M does make great products but i would not use a ceramic coating from them. A good consumer grade coating that is easy to apply and lasts is Avalon King. They are about to release a new version also which requires zero prep work apparently.

      @@G30sg you do not shake it before opening for the first time. it’s pressurized. open it with a microfiber first, then close it again and lightly shake it.
