  • The Pixfra Mile thermal monocular comes with lots of lens options, magnification choices and different thermal sensors but how do you choose the right one for the job? If you need to spot animals or people at longer ranger our recommended choice is between the M40 25mm Mile, the M60 18mm Mile and the M60 25mm Mile. See how they compare in our side-by-side field test.

Cheers! I'm much more comfortable hiding but might try a few more of these.
      (Hope it'll get easier!)

Hi! Would you say that these Chinese units are as good as the Kahles Helia TI 25? On paper it looks pretty similar with the M40 25mm.
    Thanks!

Unless it says it's not made in China... it will be made in China. So probably quite similar in terms of spec, quality and reliability to the Pixfra Ranger (although I notice the Ranger includes more features, like phone screen mirroring, PIP zoom and video recording.) . th-cam.com/video/ADc-82c8mRY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=7egA7de0q3FY22kj

@@thomasjacksltd What I’m choosing between are the Dahua or Pixfra DHI-TPC-M40 19mm that goes for 618 pounds with a 400X300 censor compared to Kahles 384x288 so pretty similar. Kahles have a larger objective lens and a auto of function when facing down and that’s the big plus and it’s on sale for 810 pounds atm here in Sweden. They’re both Chinese made and the specs are in Pixfras favor… 🤔

My advice would always be to find a local retailer (or an event) where you can try these units for yourself.
The good news is that the Pixfra Mile also has auto shut off. You can set different times frames and whether you want it to immediately come back on by:
      a) tapping the power button (auto mode) or
      b) lifting the device to your face (smart mode).

@@thomasjacksltd I didn’t know that, thanks! It feels like the brand talks loudest and if I want to sell it later on it would be wise to go with Kahles but I can’t buy something that on paper is similar to a cheaper unit. I think the larger lens and a oled screen but with lower resolution is what speaks for Kahles.
I know a place pretty close who got both units so I need to take your advice! Thanks!

Now I've double checked what our Pixfra Mile can do here, I might produce a video on it - so thanks for the inspiration!
Have you seen our video on how to choose the best thermal for your needs? th-cam.com/video/cA1IbOg3FCY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ztUfHCK1pMmzw7km
      I hope it helps.

      I know - AMAZING!!!!
(although I did feel it was worth a mention as these are so cheap, they're likely to be a lot of peoples introduction to thermal imagery... so they may not appreciate their full capability.)
